I'm posting late for me - I just couldn't get up this morning. I wanted to get up and workout, but I'm so sore from yesterday's workout that I just couldn't do it. So, I stayed in bed a little longer than normal. It was funny....Stephanie noticed, when her alarm went off, that I was still in bed, and she rushed into my room and asked why I was still there. I told her why, and she lowered her head, turned around and started walking away, and she said lowly, "I still have to go to school today". She thought she had a snow day:laughing:

geffric - I"m glad you had a better day yesterday :)

DG - Wow, Mike is an opera singer - that's amazing!!!!! I would love to be able to sing - what a great gift he has!!!:)

TTTTTigernn - I read about Kyle's fever and went  That has only happened to Stephanie once, and she was a very sick little girl back then. How is he today? I sure hope he is doing better. What did the doctor say? I'll send mountains of PD his way:wizard: :wizard:

Mac - How is your knee feeling? I sure hope it's starting to feel better:wizard:

Bunchkin - Kevin may need to talk to her if this happens again. She has a tendancy to push things with the girls that I don't, and it really upsets me - it makes me feel like she thinks Kevin and I are bad parents. For example, if they come over and the girls have on now socks, she immediately sends them upstairs to put on socks (I feel that they are old enough to know if their feet are cold). The other day she felt their shoes weren't warm enough - I thought they were fine. The other day Stephanie wanted to take her ipod with her, and my MIL wouldn't let her, and told her they wouldn't allow her to use it anyway:eek: I could go on and on :headache: :headache:

Kim - :wave2:

HERSEY - I liked the shorter weeks too ::yes::

Well, it's time for me to get some breakfast in Stephanie
Have a good day!!!

Morning.. bbrrr it was cold this am walking accros the bridge fom the train to downtown.. brrrrr..It has been a boy scout busy week for me....Last night I went to NWSC for a NOAC meeting.. seems they will get the staff from Napowan to the transport in Mt Prospect.. may even close camp early as most of the counselors are going to NOAC.. ( nat'l order of the arrow conference)
Tonight is roundtable.. so that does complete the entire week night as boy scouts every night..

Friday I have a client meeting in Champaign and then to Oak Lawn for a wake.. see ya later..

Morning all!!
Slo, nice to know even you get tired of working out. I have yet to start. All the decorations are down now and I would like to start the Wii Fit again. Hopefully next week I can start.
DS is still home today. His fever went up again last night so he is home today. I was supposed to help PTO bake cookies today for cookie day, but I had to cancel. I sure hope everything goes OK for them.

My dad's sister passed away on Monday, so I have the wake to go to tonight after DH gets home. She was 86 and not in the best health so it is sort of a blessing. It was just very weird that it happened exactly 5 years to the day that my dad passed away.
Kids have their Winter Pageant tonight as well. DD has to go from band practice to ballet to the music program. I am not sure where food fits into the evening for her. And I have to think of something to do with DS so that DH can take DD and see the program while I am at the wake. :faint:

geffric, sounds like you have a busy scouting week! It's great that your boys both enjoy it. DS wanted to do the fun stuff but never wanted to do the work that went along with it.:rolleyes1 So we took him out of Scouts.

KimRaye and Paint, we all cried when we went to see Marley and we all knew how it ended because we all read the book. DD read a younger version of the book at school.

DG, that is neat that your DH to be sings opera. Where does he sing around the Chicago area?

Hersey, Crissup, Mac, piglet, Rose, Bunchkin, DMM, and everyone else, have a great day today. I am off to do some :laundy: and read. I got the new Scarpetta book from the library and it's only a week loaner and it has 500 pages. I'll need to hurry.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I, too, did not want to get out of bed this morning! I was so nice and warm! So, as I'm getting dressed, i noticed a big spider on the wall near my ceiling! I HATE spiders. So I was going to hit it with a shoe box lid when it just disappeared from sight. I'm pretty sure it crawled behind my pictures on the shelf it was near. I never found it b/c I was running late due to to the fact i didn't want to get out of bed. I'm convinced it's back there plotting against me.... i HATE spiders!!!!

Tigg ~ Thanks so much for visiting my wedding journal! :goodvibes Stop by again and feel free to post over there too! Sorry to hear DS is still not feeling well. Also, i'm very sorry to hear about your aunt. :sad1:

Bunchy ~ Cell phone can sometimes be more of a pain. However, I feel lost without it! :confused3

Geffric ~ I hear ya with the walking from the train this morning. I go into LaSalle St Station and work at Wacker and Washington. I was so cold this morning I stopped in a CVS half way through my walk to warm up a bit... I bought a magazine just to justify my stopping:laughing: I'm ready for spring!

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day! Stay warm!

Hi gang! It sounds like some of us are preparing to move to Orlandao - me, slo, geffric, dg if Mike can sing in the Opera. Should I order the moving trucks? Maybe we can be out of town by tomorrow's snow. 3 - 6 more coming our way.

We are making ADR's for our April spring break/50th anniversary inlaw trip. This morning dh made an ADR for Whispering Canyon. He mentioned to the CM that it was for a 50th anniversary trip. CM asked him if his parents would be willing to do the Hokey Pokey!! Do the have the anniversary couples do the Hokey Pokey? It will be a hoot!

He also reserved the Speciality Cruise for Illuminations. He called yesterday morning and got a boat right away. I am looking for 5 more people to share the boat. So...if anyone of you are in WDW on April 7th and want to share the boat, just let me know! I love seeing Illuminations this way!

Take care! See you all later.
Lori

DisneyGal.. you don't work far from me I am at 123 N wacker..

Paint great news about the trip.. tell us more?? When? Where? etc

CSR, June 8-15th (for now). I'd like to stay down a few more days, just to relax, but it will depend on dh's class schedule. He's working on his master's and has to take class (so he can do his thesis in the fall) that seems only to be offered starting June 16th! We can't go earlier than the 8th because he has to finish up at work (a school!).
I am so excited, though. Last trip was dh's first, and he kept asking what the kids liked when they were there and talking about what he wants to do with them (like build a light saber with ds!) The dcs haven't been for a few years (the horror, I know). Also, I wanted to stay at CSR last time, but I knew we'd never be in the room, so we went with ASMovies (and wasn't pleased). So...needless to say, I am very excited. We will also be there on dd's 8th bday and she wants to eat with the princesses on her bday!
Now, I must work like crazy and earn some big tips. It really helps, though, to see that ticker down there!

Dgal- You'll love this spider story...dd said she saw one in her room and it went behind the t.v. I said, "well, it's gone now". She was freaked, but I wasn't looking for it. It's gone, right? The next day, I am putting on my work shirt (which I store, pressed, in dd's closet), and as I am buttoning the top button, I see something near my right shoulder. At first I though it was a piece of my hair or something...no. I made this weird strangled scream, flung it off of me, and it landed on dd's HSM blanket, where I squished it with her chair leg. I washed the blanket.;)
momto1-I am looking forward to WC for our trip. DH and ds might make our server sorry to wait on us! They are a couple of characters and impossible to embarass!
Tiggern- Sorry to hear about your aunt. That is weird about the years. As far as Marley is concerned, no way. I will be a blubbering mess and might need counseling. I cried enough during the book, and that is without seeing a sweet puppy's eyes and hearing the sad music (music always, gets you, doesn't it).
Slo- How is the workout soreness? I worked arms for the first time in months yesterday. Folding laundry is painful. I had to stop for a DIS break!

Okay, back to folding or there will be nowhere to sleep tonight- laundry all over the bed!

Paint - that is a great time to be at WDW.. and you have Star Wars weekend too.. itr will be so much fun.. is DD gonna get in free for her b'day??

So.....are you all ready for the snow????? :cold:
I was releaved there wasn't a ton of snow when I woke up - I didn't want Stephanie to have a snow delay or a cancellation. I'm praying that the snow isn't as much as the weather people are predicting, because I don't want poor Kevin to be stuck in 3 hours of traffic again. It's just to bad that this snow couldn't be tomorrow instead of today. Oh well, can't control the weather - right?!

I have a lot going on today.
I work for a very short while, and then I need to make a frame delivery.
After that I have a couple of errands to run.
Then I come home for short while, and then I pick Stephanie up from school at 2:30pm so I can take the girls to the Pediatrician. Katie needs her 5yr check up (probably shots, but we aren't going to tell her that), and Stephanie needs to have her ear checked out. I don't know if you remember, but Stephanie had surgery last year to remove a tube out of her ear, and her ear has not gotten any better. It run like a runny nose, and it really frustrates her, and me too. I'm nervous that she will need a 3rd surgery on that ear to close up the hole the tube left (her body should have done this on it's own). So, I'm praying that doesn't have to happen, but I'm already prepared that it is going to happen.
After the doctors appt I'm going to come home, feed us, and then Stephanie and I have a function at church we are attending.
So it will be an active day!!!!!

So, last night I when I took Sophie out there were 2 coyotes close to the house. When I came out the door, they ran into the forest, but not far into the forest. Sophie was barking her head off, and they just studied us. Next thing I know one of them comes trotting towards us:scared1: I started yelling at it "GO AWAY!!!! GET OUT OF HERE!!!" It did turn around and go back into the forest (not far) and then they just studied us again :scared1: I kept telling Sophie to go potty, but she wanted to bark at them. Finally they did run off, Sophie went potty, and I got in the house. I do not like coyotes at all:sad2: I'm so glad I take Sophie out, because if I didn't, they would have gone after her, I have no doubt. It's cold, and I'm sure they are hungry - yep don't like them!!!!!!!!:sad2:

geffric - Wow, you've had a busy week :faint: I hope the snow doesn't hold you back from going where you need to go tonight.

Tiiigerrn - I'm sorry to hear of your Aunt passing away:guilty:
*How is Kyle doing? What did the doctor say? I'll send more PD his way:wizard:
*How did the Winter Pagent go?

DG - I hate spiders too ::yes:: I even have a tag about it:laughing: My old house had the HUGEST spiders in the backyard at night - they were garden spiders. I hated them - they freaked me out, and in fact I would call them "man eaters":rotfl2:

momto1 - I've never done the Illuminations Cruise, and I would love to someday. I bet you can really feel the heat from all that fire on the cruise - that would be cool!!! How much does it cost to do that?

paint - Congrats on the ticker:cheer2: I look forward to hearing of your vacation plans as you make them.
**That spider story made me do this:scared1: I've had a spider on me before, and I screamed like I had a man about ready to attack me:rotfl2:
**I'm still very very sore, but I am working out today. My butt, and my back are what is super sore - especially my butt. It hurts for me to sit and go up stairs. Oh well, I guess that's my punishment for not working out all of December:upsidedow

Well, I must go and workout now, even though my body says NO!!!!!
Have a good day!!!

Morning..

I am not in champiagn but working from home today. The client rescheduled. In the great NW, we have about 2 inches of snow. so not bad so far..When Eric left for school, i asked him to wear his hiking boot, but I guess they are not cool, so I then suggested that he at least take another pr of soxes so he doesn't walk around in wet ones all day at school.

I am still going to the wake in oak lawn so hopefully it will be clear by this evening.

be back later..

slo, we got the snow for you.
lots of it and it hasn't stopped yet.

i took it all for you.
see what a nice homie i am to you.....

on another note:

good friday morning chicagoland homies......:yay:

Morning all.
DS is still sleeping. Dr. said just a virus and had to let it run its' course. Ears were good, throat looked OK, lungs sounded clear. Not going to do any blood work. No antibiotics at this time.
He started coughing yesterday and the congestion in his head is all starting to break loose. Hopefully he will not have a fever and will recover over the weekend and get back to school on Monday.:wizard:
I have to go to my Aunt's funeral today. I will go to the church and stay for the luncheon, but I hope they forgive me if I pass on going out to the cemetary. DS will stay with GPs during the funeral, but I don't really want to backtrack to go back to pick him up after going out to the cemetary. And it's too nasty for him to come along. I hope they understand.

Slo, I sure hope Steph's ears get a good report and surgery isn't needed. :wizard: and for Katie too. Kids hate shots.
That is scarey about the coyotes. Sophie would definately be bait for them. We have them all around here and listening to them some nights just gives me the creeps. Sometimes they howl like they are dying or in the midst of killing something.:sad2:

DG, spiders are creepy. I don't like them either!

Paint, congrats on your new ticker!!:woohoo: It is so nice to plan. It sounds like you got the same pin thing I did. I hope I have the opportunity to use it!
Happy Planning!

Morning Mac. Stay inside where it's warm and just look at the blasted fluffy stuff through the window!! It has stopped here for now, but I am sure we haven't seen the last of it.

geffric, careful out there tonight. I hope it doesn't get bad for you. How could you possibly have suggested boots to a cool kid?! That is just sacreligious!

Momto1, you can add me onto that moving list. If I could convince DH, I would leave here in an instant. He could say pack, and I would say when are we leaving, I'll call the movers!

Well, I'd better start my day. Later all.

Good Friday Morning Everyone! :flower3: So... the tale of the spider continues.... last night i was up in my bedroom the majority of the night. I watched Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy, changed my sheets (my sis got me microfleece sheets for xmas and they are the most comfy sheets ever... from target, highly reccommended). Anywho, whilst I was in my room all night I kept looking out for that spider. It was no where to be seen so I figured it moved on to another room or vent or something. Well, I wake up at 230am and for some reason am really paranoid about this spider. i turned my lamp on and start looking around again. no luck. so right as i lay back down, i look above my closet and there it was!!!!! :scared1: i grabbed a mag and climbed on my nice clean and folded laundry just so i could smack it! i did and proceeded to throw it in my trash. Being a paranoid spider hater, i went to get another small garbage bag from the bathroom and put it over the garbage with the mag and spider in it. I was 99% sure it was dead but didn't want to take any chances. then I was able to sleep soundly!!

Geffric ~ I'm at 20 N Wacker :goodvibes and I think Leigh works around here too!

Slo ~ I'll keep Stephanie in my thoughts and prayers that she won't need another surgery.:wizard: Good thing you were out there with Sophie! do you have a fence?

Tigg ~ here's wishing DS a speedy recovery this weekend. :wizard: I think your family will understand if you don't go to the cemetary! With DS being so sick and this weather, it is COMPLETELY understandable!

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a nice day. stay warm and safe out there, it's slippery!:wizard:

See, I don't kill spiders. Every time I do though, I end up getting bit within the next day or two. So, if at all possible, I get Dewain or Kevin to kill them.

Piglet ~ i don't normally kill them either for fear that i'll miss and it will fall on me or something:laughing: but the fact that it was 230am, i figured i should try to do it myself so i could sleep b/c i wouldn't sleep if i knew it was there!

Hi guys! T.G.I.F.!!! Wow, this week went by so fast (not that I'm complaining). I'm looking forward to no alarm tomorrow morning........

Well, DH is home sick today and so is DS and I just got back from picking up DD7 from school (they called for me to pick her up). Nothing major around here just some sore throats, stomach aches and the like. DS is the only one with a fever. Hopefully everyone will be back to their normal selves tomorrow.

piglet - did you find a Wii? Ours gets quite the workout every day, the kids play and DH and I Wii Fit.

paint - I'm sorry to hear about your Gma, I'll keep her in our prayers.

slo - that's too bad your MIL won't follow your request. My inlaws let the kids eat what ever they want when ever they want, I'm talking an entire canister of Pringles in one sitting, 3 helpings of ice cream, etc. I try not to let it bother me but sometimes it does. I can only imagine if they spent a lot of time there how big they'd be!!
*Best of luck at the MD today, I hope you get good news for Stephanie and that Katie will be OK with the shots (I'm pretty sure she'll have to get them, will this be her Kdg physical?)
**Good thing you go out with Sophie otherwise she might have been an evening snack for those coyotes.

Crissup - lol, good license plate! I didn't get it at first but then saw the by-line on the bottom. Sad, but true.

Tiggerrn - yikes, I hope your DS is feeling better soon!
*Condolences on the loss of your Aunt, it is amazing that it was the same day your dad passed. I'm sure everyone will understand if you don't go to the cemetary with DS being sick and all.
**How was the Winter Pageant?

Bunchkin - luckily my DH is the techy one and he does all the phone, camera, computer stuff. I wouldn't have a clue!

disneygal - DH is the one afraid of spiders in our house so I'm the one the kids call when they need one disposed of. I'm not too fond of them either but not as bad as DH.

momto1 - you can add me to the list of those moving, actually DH has been seriously trying to get me to move for probably 2yrs.
*You'll have to be sure to bring your video camera to the Whispering Canyon dinner!

paint - congrats on the new trip!! We'll be arriving just as you're getting ready to go home. Right now we're booked 6/14-20 but I'm going to add the 12th and/or 13th if I can get a discount on a room.

geffric - glad you didn't have to make the trek to Champaign today in this weather!

mac - I hope you guys don't get too buried with the snow today!

Well, I think I've caught up with everyone. The patients around here are looking for lunch so I'd best run.

Have a good evening everyone! Be safe out there if you have to go out! :flower3:

ID- You should join us for dd's bday (14th)! I think we will go to Akershaus to eat with the princesses! I talked her out of Cinderella's Castle becasue I've done both and prefer the Norway one. You get to mingle with the princesses there! Anyway, seriously, you should. It'd be fun! DD is going to be 8! Let me. We've got time!

Hi gang! 2 hours and 22 minutes to get to work today! ARGH! Hopefully, the snow will hold off until I get home tonight.

Slo - The boat is $319 which includes tax. It holds ten people. I posted on the Illuminations thread for cruising companions. Last year, I had people respond right away and we had a full boat. It is fun. Careful with those coyotes. Can you walk Sophie someplace else that doesn't have the forest? We have wetlands in our back yard and I worry about coyotes, too. We have heard them but not seen them.

DG - I am glad that you got that spider and got some sleeop. Luckily I haven't seen spiders in awhile.

Paint - What a hoot of a spider story. Congats on booking the trip. Have fun planning.

To those with sick spouses and kiddos - I hope they start to feel better soon.

Have a great weekend everyone.
