Merry Christmas to all of you here at the Chicagoland Board!

Have a safe a wonderful day! and a sasfe New Year.

:santa:

Thanks Geef.. happy holidays to you and your family too..

Geesh! I wish Mother Nature would take a break, I'm really tired of the snow! Just ran out to Jewel to get the remaining ingredients for the food for the holidays and it was crazy busy - pushing a cart through the snowy parking lot was no fun either. Good thing was they had every lane open and there were no lines, things were moving quickly. DH is hoping they'll send him home early, it would be even better if he didn't have to go tomorrow ;) .

Any chefs out there?? I'm going to attempt the potato casserole they have at CRT for Christmas morning. It calls for white pepper, I don't have any and since I've never needed it before I'd rather not shell out $5 for a bottle. Can I just use regular pepper?

Bunchkin - Happy (belated) Birthday!! Hope you had a great day!

slo - yikes, you have a lot to do today! I hope you get it all done and I hope Kevin is feeling better soon. Enjoy your days off!!

geffric - thank goodness all Geoff did was slide into the snow bank, I hope it goes better for him today but it is pretty slippery out there.

Geef - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!

:wave2: to everyone else! I hope your holiday plans are going well!

Must run and change the laundry load and change sheets. Have a great night everyone, drive safely if you have to go out! :santa:

HI all! :santa:

Did some more wrapping last night while the kids were distracted watching 'Horton Hears a Who'. Cute movie!!

Only thing left to do tomorrow night is stuff the stockings for the kids and assemble two things. And I don't *think* they'll be too hard to put together, it's a desk and chair for Lauren from IKEA-her favorite store!!

Baked chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter kiss cookies too. Making snickerdoodles in a while and then a peanut butter chocolate supreme pie.

Oh, and there has been tons of snow here and white-outs too.

irish dancer What else is in this recipe? You could still use black pepper, just not as much as the recipe calls for-if I'm remembering right about white pepper.

geffric Glad Geoff is ok, hope the car is too! :thumbsup2 Teenagers need to learn to take it slllooooowww in this kind of weather when it comes to driving. :goodvibes
And stop talking about ribs!!! I'm drooling on my keyboard!

Geef Merry Christmas to you and yours too! :santa:

Good very very late evening all! :flower3: As if I haven't been busy enough... i now am recovering from food poisening. Sunday night we ordered Chinese food. Mike and I both had different entrees and I had an egg roll. I got really REALLY sick within 2-3 hours. I stayed home from work yesterday knowing my boss would be upset but I could barely stand. This morning I was feeling a little better, able to get up and dressed and whatnot. Dad drove me to the train station so I wouldn't have to stand in the cold. Well, aobut half way downtown I started getting woosy again. Didn't think i was going to make it all the way to work but i did. by 10:15 though I was miserable. I actually had put my head on my desk b/c i was feeling so terrible. so i talk to my boss and decide to head back home. mike picked me up from the train and took me right to the doc... yup... food poisening. just what i wanted for Christmas!

Bunchy and Sam ~ Happy Birthday to you! party: :bday: party:

Slo ~ hope you got everything done you needed too! I'm sure Sophie's haircut looks adorable.

Everyone else ~ safe travels this holiday weekend! :wizard:

now all i have left to do is to clean the house, do the laundry, do the laundry, you know the fun stuff.........

Yawn.......so tired!!!!! :surfweb:
I went to bed at midnight last night, and here I am posting early in the morning :faint: I got everything done yesterday, which makes me very happy!!!! :yay: I was up so late last night, because I was baking my Toll House Pan Cookies, and then m&m cookies - yum!!!! After they were done baking, they had to sit and cool, so that's what kept me up the latest. While I was waiting for everything to cool, I started watching White Christmas - I've never seen it before. I didn't finish it, because I wanted to go to bed, but it's on DVR, so I'll have to finish it another time:)

Today will be busy too!!!!
I have many many manh chores to do around the house, go to work to give out Christmas bonuses, go to Jewel to pick up a birthday cake (Mac - I'm stealing your birthday cake for Jesus tradition:goodvibes ), get the girls and I ready for church, be at church by 3pm, in-laws come home with us after church (around 6:30pm), eat, presents, wait for the kids to go to sleep, Santa comes, and hopefully I'll be in bed by midnight :faint: This is always my longest day of the year.
How about you guys - what are your plans for today?????

geffric - I'm so glad Geoff was okay. We've had some really bad accidents around here - the roads are just treacherous!!!!!! I remember when I was a new driver - I was terrified of driving in the snow. My first snow as a driver, I had to drive my 15 year old co-worker home (he's now one of my best friends, and STephanie's Godfather) and he had to help guide my ways, because I was so nervous - we still laugh about that to this day:laughing:

Geef - Happy Holidays to you too!!!!!:santa:

ID - Good luck with your potato casserole :wizard: I never knew white pepper existed  Let us know how it works with black pepper, and if it's easy to make, and it turns out well, please post the receipe.

Bunchkin - Do you make your Snickerdoodles from scratch, or do you have premade dough (I've only made them with premade dough)? If you make them from scratch, will you post a receipe, because I don't have one for those type of cookies.

Crissup, HERSEY, Donna and KimRaye - :wave2:

Mac - I'm glad you got your shopping done!!!!:thumbsup2

DG - OMGosh about the food poisioning!!!! I'm glad you are on the mend, and I hope you are 100% better by Christmas :wizard:

Well, I'm off to start this very happy and hectic day:santa:
Merry Christmas Eve to all, and Happy Hanukkah geffric!!!!

Stopping by to wish everyone here a very Merry and Blessed Christmas and a very Happy and Blessed Hanukkah. :wave2: Hoping Santa is good to everybody. :santa:

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I'm actually supposed to be downtown today but the doc said I can't go back to work until monday. :confused3 something about trying to rush the recovery process doesn't help and that I will only make it worse by trying to do too much! soooo... alas I'm home all day. usually we go by mikes fam on christmas eve and my fam on christmas day. well, this year, we are doing both fams on xmas day. he's coming over here tonight and we are just going to hang out. my dad is staying home too b/c he's not really feeling up to going anywhere either. I need to go to Jewel to get my ingredients for my dishes I'm bringing to my sisters so i'll be doing that in a bit but otherwise... i'm resting.

Slo ~ glad you got everything done yesterday! good luck with everything today!

Mac ~ glad to hear you got all your shopping done!

Everyone else ~ A VERY HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!

Merry Christmas Eve to Everyone!!

Busy day around here too, just took a quick break to have something to eat. We do mass this afternoon and then to the inlaws for dinner and presents. I need to make a sweet potato casserole to bring there and I want to make the french toast loaf and potato casserole to have for tomorrow morning. Also need to hem DSs pants for tonight.

Yikes, why does it always seem like you've got things covered and then there seems to be so many last minute things. :confused3

mac - so glad you got your shopping done and are home safe and sound.

disneygal - I hope you're feeling better soon!

Bunchkin - thanks for the suggestion on the pepper, I'm just going to wing it. We can always season it more once it's cooked if we want.

slo - my day sounds a lot like yours and I had a terrible night sleep, so many things on my mind I just couldn't sleep. Will be another late night tonight, have a few more presents to wrap after the kids are asleep.

Well, I must get back to work - so much to do so little time!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to everyone!

Geesh! I wish Mother Nature would take a break, I'm really tired of the snow! Just ran out to Jewel to get the remaining ingredients for the food for the holidays and it was crazy busy - pushing a cart through the snowy parking lot was no fun either.

I did that, too yesterday. I don't think I've ever had so much trouble pushing a shopping cart! :scared1:  Traffic was sooo slow. I finally cut through a couple of shopping centers so I could get over to Best Buy because it didn't seem like I would ever make it on the street I was on.

I just set up the Disney Christmas parade to tape. Can't miss that, because it's both Disney and Ryan Seacrest!

I was going to go to Indy to visit my friends, but I decided not to, because of the possible bad weather and because I just wanted to rest. I'm glad I didn't, because I would have been trying to come back in the snow yesterday! :scared:

Tonight I'm going over to my parents to have dinner, and then we'll go to church. Then tomorrow they're coming over to my house for presents, and then I'll make my traditional Christmas cheese souffle. :thumbsup2

I have the week off from work (they've closed the office for the week for the last few years), so it's nice to have a break. I do have some work that I need to do, and I'll have to work most of the Saturdays in January because of year-end stuff. :guilty:

I have most of my decorations up, but I still have to decorate my tree! :sad2: But I think I'm still doing better than last year.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah! :grouphug:

ETA: Oh slo, did you ever renew your driver's license??
