Good Wednesday Morning Everyone! :flower3: This will probably be the last time I post until next tuesday when i get back from Frankenmuth. I might be able to read post b/c mike has an iPhone but i'm lucky if i can figure out how to work it! So, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Slo ~ I was definitely up watching the girls gymnastics. it was quite intense! :) and i was so happy to see Michael Phelps set another world record... i believe he is now the most decorated olympic athlete ever. now if only he can beat Mark Spitz's record of earning the most gold's in one olympics:wizard:

Everyone else ~ :wave2: have a great day!

Heading to the dentist to get a tooth pulled today. :( Darned thing has been driving me crazy and the dentist found a cavity that was hidden on the normal bitewing x-rays by an existing filling. It's a molar that doesn't have a lot of room to work around and the dentist is sure that if we open it up, it'll probably end up with a root canal. So, he recommended I just yank the puppy out of there. I had originally decided I'd think about it, but after only a few days (and a gazillion aspirins later), I called and said yank it! So, I'm off this morning to have it yanked.

So, if anyone notices me talking funny in any of my posts, you'll know why. ;) :rotfl:

Morning all!!
Crissup, we all will be sure to listen carefully here for your funny talking.:rotfl2: Good luck with the tooth pulling.
Slo, have a nice day today. What movie did you and Katie go see? We are going to do the $2.50 Marcus deal tomorrow to see Space Chimps. Today is :laundy: day, washing DD sheets (she was the only one I didn't get to the other day-she had just spent all morning making her bed and organizing her stuffed managerie so I didn't have the heart to unmake it. )
Bunchkin, how was the movie this morning? Enjoy Great America tomorrow. We totally missed that this year. :rolleyes1 Kids were disappointed not to get to use their free tickets from reading.
DG-have a great weekend in Frankenmuth. Be sure to check out Bronner's Christmas shop!!
So, Donna, just what is that perfect little part-time job? 10A-2PM Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays?
Sk8, you must go!!! For the children, of course!!:rolleyes1
Everyone else, have a great day. Enjoy the weather!! Nice day to go out for a walk everyone!!

Hi everyone - :wave2:

Thank you for the warm welcome back - :thumbsup2

Slo - Yes, i did register - I got there about 10 and was out by 10:15 - Not bad - I'm really curious to see what teacher he gets - There is just one that i have my fingers and toes crossed that he does not get -
I'll be heading to the middle school to register my daughter tonight -
8th grade already - Sheesh, time goes by way too fast -

Because our basement flooded during the storm last week :sad2: , i have both the carpet man coming out for an estimate to replace what had to be torn out and the claims adjustor is coming later to let us know how much damage - Should be an interesting day - :headache:

Have a good day everyone!!

Hi gang!

Crissup - Hope your not in too much pain. DS just had a root canal on a tooth he had gone in complaining about in April that they said was OK. Come to find out - the tooth wasn't on the Xray that was taken. Take care of yourself.

Slo -Ds plays the bass clarinet. I had to go buy him a padded strap today to lug the thing around since it is pretty big. Nope, we aren't going to the Halloween party but we are going to Food and Wine. DS and DH will join us for the first 2 days and are doing the Exhibition Everst 5K.

DG - Have fun in Frankenmuth. We were there several years ago. The Christmas shop is HUGE!! DS and DH found some lighthouse somewhere on the shores somewhat nearby that they enjoyed.

Better go check and see how the garden grows. We had a bumper crop of raspberries. 2 zuchinni's, some hungarian peppers and a few smallish tomatoes. More should be on its way.

After the garden, throw in some laundry and turn on the Olympics.

Have a great night!

John You are lucky. My teeth never go out with a fight to the end. My last Root canal was because of a tooth gone bad and turned into a abcess in my jaw. I ended up loosing 20 lbs and $900.00. The 20 lbs part was so bad but I could have bought a lot of mickey bars with that $900.00.

Did anyone have a rain storm earlier this evening? I thought we were going to be spared. :confused3

Yawn.......so tired with this darkness:surfweb:

Yesterday was a nice day.
I cleaned some house in the morning, and then Katie I went to the park, and had a picnic lunch. We were going to go to the show, but she decided she wanted to go to the park instead, which was fine, because that's free:thumbsup2 Then last night we all went to the mall, so Stephanie could get her Hannah Montana backpack, and lunch tote (They are like a silver disco ball). Both girls took some their birthday money (Stephanie bought her backpack with part of her money) and then both girls bought a new Build-A-Bear and something for them to wear. I swore I wouldn't get any more BAB, but they wanted to use their own money, so I said okay. Katie got a rabbit, and Stephanie got a whitish/bluish bear.

DG - Have a great time this weekend!!!!:cool1:

Crissup - How are you doing today? I'll send a mountain of PD your way to feel better soon:wizard: I"m sorry your tooth was so difficult to come out - ouch!!!!:guilty:

Tiiiiiigern - I wanted to take Kate to see Space Chimps, but she didn't want to:confused3 I asked "why" and she said that she just didn't want to:confused: You'll have to tell me what you thought of it - Steph liked it.

MBeds - I'm sorry to hear about your basement:guilty: How long were you out of electricity? We went out at about 1:30am, and then it came back on at about 6:30am, so not long. While it was out though, we were worried about our battery back-up for the sump pump would poop out, so Kevin went to Home Depot when they opened that morning, and bought a small generator. I sure hope you are able to get things fixed quickly :wizard:

momto1 - Your son does play a big insturment - good for him!!!!:) Is he going to be in Track again this year (wasn't he in that last year?)? Or am I thinking of someone else's son?
**Your garden sounds great!!! I would love a big garden someday.

HERSEY - I don't know if we had a storm, but it did rain - the driveway was wet when I took Sophie out this morning.

Well, I'm off to start the day.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Afternoon all!!
Slo, the movie was :lmao: A lot of adult humor the kids wouldn't get, but we were laughing out loud at parts. The kids all thought it was good.
John, hope you are feeling OK today. Motrin-lots of Motrin!!!:wizard: And a little pixie dust oughta do the trick.
Neighbor just went by in his truck sharing his music. Oh, sorry. His beat!!!:rolleyes1 I'm not quite sure there is any music to that junk.
Well, looks like everyone must be out and about today. Not many chatty Kathy's here.
Better get moving myself. Off to finally get the pix cleared out of my camera from the beginning of summer. Need to make room for the new WDW pix!!!
Into the main countdown now.

Thanks for the thoughts. :) Carol and I had hashed back and forth on whether I should have gotten a root canal or just yank it. My dentist was telling me to just yank it, so I did. As it turned out, he said even if we had decided on a root canal, we would have reached a point where we would have realized the tooth was too far gone and yanked it anyway. So, at least I saved myself some grief there.

I'm taking cortisone and antibiotics for it. I did take a couple of Tylenol last night before bed just in case it flared up in the middle of the night, but otherwise, no pain meds. It's actually not hurting at all. I decided to work from home today just in case, but I'm actually feeling less pain than I was before we pulled it.

Now I'm just trying to be careful that I don't end up with dry socket.

Hi guys! Well, we come to the end of another week. Boy time is going by so fast, I just don't want summer to end.

Mairead made the B team for volleyball, I think she was hoping for the A team but wasn't expecting it so she wasn't too disappointed. I'm happy because I think there is a lot more pressure on the A team to be successful.

Tomorrow we head to Rockford for an overnight at the Clocktower Resort, the kids love the Coco Key waterpark. This was ds8s birthday present, it is the only thing he really wanted.

Not looking forward to next week, dh will be in SanDiego leaving Mon and coming back Fri. Ugh, long week flying solo.

slo - I hope the new employee works out, it's always tough having a friend/relative working for you especially if it doesn't work out.
*I'm taping the gymnastics tonight for Mairead, she was very mad that I didn't tape the team comp.

disneygal - I hear ya on the Olympics! I'm totally addicted and it is killing my sleep, it seems to get later and later every night!
*I don't think you can shrink 50/50 things. You could look at Target or Walmart in the regular section for a plain white tee, that is what I did when the kids were little.

Tiggerrn - yikes, that registration process sounds like a nightmare. I'm so glad we don't have to do that, ours is done through the mail.
*Yes, this is our first real stay at AKL. DH and I spent a long weekend there for our 10th Anniversary in 2005 but we didn't get much time at the resort. It is also our first every concierge stay, that is what I'm most looking forward to I think, lol.
**Woo Hoo! 10 days !!! Have a great trip!

Bunchkin - how was Great America? We had talked about taking the kids this summer but I think we've decided to wait for next year when youngest dd will be 8. My dsis took her two and had a great time but was very disappointed with Dark Knight, said it was baaad.
*A WDW vow renewal, how exciting. I know my dh would never do that, he's told me (lol) but it would be exciting to plan. Will look forward to hearing about it while you plan.
**Wow, those are HIGH fees. DSs fee is only $78 for elementary (jr high was higher), the girls on the other hand go to Catholic school and their fee is $350 each.

Leigh - two Disney trips in a month sound great to me! Who needs sleep, it is entirely overrated :rotfl: .

Donna - congrats on the job! You never know, it might turn into something more permanent.

Crissup - I hope your tooth feels better soon! It sounds very painful!

MBeds - so sorry about the flooding, I can't even imagine going through something like that! I hope the adjustor is generous.

Phew, I think I've caught back up. Have a great weekend everyone! :flower3:

Man, I've been sleeping so good lately with the windows open - it's hard to wake up in the morning. Plus, I bought a water pillow from my chiropractor, and the thing is awesome!!!! This helps me sleep great too :thumbsup2 The pillow is like a waterbed, where you put water actually in the pillow. It conforms to my neck, and therefore, helping reduce stiffness in my neck. I just love it!!!!!:goodvibes

TTTTTigernnnn - How exciting about 10 more days!!!!!!
**I'm glad you enjoyed the movie!!!!:)

Crissup - I"m glad you aren't feeling to much pain:)
What's dry socket? I've heard of it before, but I don't know exactly what it is.

ID - Have a good time this weekend!!!!:cool1:
**I haven't hired her yet:sad2: I told her to come in and fill out an application, and she hasn't yet. Maybe she doesn't want to work at my place now that's she thought about it:confused3 Who knows?!?!

Bunchkin - How was GA?

Well, I gotta get going - early day today.
I have a Chiropractor appointment at 8:30am, and then I got to work after that.
Have a good day!!!

Carol and I both use Sobokawa buckwheat pillows. We love them!! In fact, I have a hard time sleeping on vacation without my pillow. I love how I can bunch it up right where I need it and it offers so much support, yet is extremely comfortable. I'd been using one for years, and then when Carol met me, she got hooked on it also, so I ended up having to buy her one.

Drysocket is where the blood clot in the tooth socket is somehow lost (washed away, etc) and it exposes the open jaw bone. I've never really had to deal with it, but I've heard so many painful horror stories that I make a point of being careful to avoid things that could cause it.

Hi everyone!! :wave2:

We had a great time at GA yesterday! Had coupons for free kids admission and $10 off the adult price too. Got there at 10am, even with a traffic jam on 355 and construction/traffic on 94. Parked in the preferred lot. Crowds were REALLY LOW!!!! :cool1: Road on at least over 20 rides, some multiple times. We went to the car for lunch. Brought folding chairs and the cooler full of food, saw lots of people doing the same as us! Kids did a little shopping for the required theme park stuffed animal!! ;)
We left some time after 6pm to go down the road to Wendy's for dinner(had coupons), then went home.
Crowds were nice, no rowdy teens or the like. No one seems too interested in their characters, unlike at WDW or DL.
I and DH could not believe their food prices though!!! WOWZERS!!
It was almost $10 for a bag of popcorn and a large Coke. Let alone their other food prices. I was glad we brought lunch. :thumbsup2
It was really great for DH. He loves roller coasters, which WDW is greatly lacking in, so he had a great time feeding his thrill seeker mojo!

The kids and I are going to the Farmers Market in a little while to walk around and see what's good!! :goodvibes

If anyone needs a coupon to the Legoland Discovery Center let me know, I have an extra one. And also, they are printed in the Chicago Parenting magazine that are free and at most librarys or kid stores.

slo Hope that new pillow helps!!! We need new pillows soooo bad. We bought ones a little over a year ago that claimed they would keep their form!! HAHAHAAA..........NOT!!! :headache:
I need to buy new ones this weekend I think.
I hope the new employee works out. ::yes::

Mbeds Sorry to hear your basement flooded. I hope the damage can replaced fairly quick.

Crissup Hope that your mouth is doing ok today! :)

irish dancer Our neighbor friends are taking their kids out of private Catholic school to put them into public this year. Their tuition was $5000 total for both their kids!! They're saving quite a bit this year! Minus what they'll be paying me each week to watch their kids before and after school! ;)

Tiggerrn We never made it to the movies on Wed. I had so many errands to run! :sad2: We were gone all day and then the kids had Karate that night too. I mailed the coupons to you for Legoland Discovery Center on Wed night. So you should get them today I would guess. :)

Leigh I won't question how many trips you take!! :goodvibes
We took 4 in one years time!!! 3 WDW and 1 DL!!!

I'm back!!! We had a great time! Dh was like a big kid and loved it!
We got off to a rocky start. We flew out on that day with the bad storms...our morning flight was turned into a early evening flight because of the weather. Then, there was more bad weather! We got out on the runway two times and had to come back. The airport actually closed at one point! We ended up in FL at 3 a.m., missing our Boma dinner by a long shot!
The rest of the trip was a blur! We started with a handicapped accessible room, which was odd...the bathroom had no tub, just a shower and toilet, so there was water all over the floor. Then, the next morning the bathroom door (sliding pocket door) broke off the track, making it nearly impossible to open and close. They said they'd fix it...2 days later, it still wasn't fixed. They decided to move us,after telling me they had no open rooms at any of the values. We got moved to a further location (normal bathroom, thankfully), but he did credit my account for one night's stay. Our new room had wet carpet. I called and they said it had been cleaned and while we were out they'd dry it. When we got back, it was dry but I swear I smelled vomit. When I got the spare pillow down, it smelled really bad, too. I think someone had gotten sick in our room and left. We alsohad no ironing board and no drain plug. We called for a drain plug but after waiting 2 hours and calling back, they never came. We went to bed and never got a plug.
At least this is where my complaining ends! Evrything else was fabulous, but I will post more later!

Happy Friday everybody! I think I might have to leave work a little early today. If anyone sees the news reprots with the protest at Tropic Thunder tonight, that was organized by the place I work. So, my co-worker will be on TV as wells as people with disabilies. You won't see me on TV thought!

Paint - Welcome back! Yucko about your roooms! I bet you had a great time and we can't wait for a trip report.

Irish Dancer - Have fund at the Clocktower and water park. We spent the past 2 New Year Eves there. It is fun! I hope your ds enjoys his bday present.

Slo - Hope your chiro appointment went well and you are feeling better. Good memory on my ds running track. Yes, he did and will this year too. He is getting ready for cross country in the fall.

Bunchkin - GA sounds like a great time yesterday. It sounds like your travels went smooth, too. We won't be doing GA this year. I do feel a bit guilty since ds work in day camp to raise funds to go. They went this week while he was in band camp.

Better get back to work so I can sneak out early!
Lori

Bunchkin Glad you guys had a great day yesterday. I heard the food was pricey.

Paint That is horrible that you had such provblems with your room. I'm glad the rest of the trip with well.

Crissup Dry socket mostly happen on the upper teeth. I hope you are healing well.

Crissup Dry socket mostly happen on the upper teeth. I hope you are healing well.

This is my upper left molar, just before the wisdom tooth (which was pulled years ago). I sneezed today and I swear it felt like I blew it clean through the socket! :scared1:

I'm probably being overprotective, but better safe than sorry.

I'm sure you will be fine. It sounds like you sneeze like me  no whimpy sneezes.

Today is going to be beautiful:yay: I have a full day planned first housework then yard work. Alex asked when I planted trees I had to tell him they were weeds that we will get rid out this weekend.:sad2:

I hope whoever is going downtown has fun it is going to be a great day for the Air and Water show.

It was so nice to wake up to sunlight today :sunny:

We are going to have a beautifully awesome weather weekend :sunny:
We have no plans, and that's fine with me!!!!
Katie isn't feeling well, so this weekend we are totally chilling out at home.
I cleaned house yesterday (I worked in the morning, and then again at night, so I was home during the afternoon), so I don't even have to do that this weekend - awesome!!!! I'm going to catch up on my book, and maybe lay outside for awhile. It'll be a much needed, relaxing weekend!!!!!:goodvibes

Crissup - Thanks for explaining drysocket:)
**I never thought about how I"m going to have a hard time w/o my pillow on vacation  Thanks for the scary thought:rotfl:

Bunchkin - I'm glad you had a good time at GA, and than you took your lunches (I"m all about that too!!! ::yes:: ) Those types of places break your wallet with their crazy prices :scared1:
I"m also glad you had low crowds - awesome!!!!! I haven't been there in years, and I fear going back with my neck - the rollercoasters would just kill it :guilty: After looking back at my WDW times with my Chiro, we came to the conclusion that RnRC and ToT both gave me migraines, because of the way they shake my neck (the last time I was at MGM, I had a migraine when we left, and I couldn't stay with the family at Whispering Canyon, I had to sit in the lobby with my eyes shut, while they ate their dinner).
**Have you had any showings with your house lately?

paint - Welcome home!!!!!!:yay: I"m sorry about the resort problems:headache: One year, when we were at WL, we had a handicap bathroom, and we loved it, but we didn't have any water issues. All our water stayed in the shower, so that was good. Where did you stay? I can't remember.

momto1 - I didn't see anything on the news, what is it about?
**We saw the middle school cross-country team run through our subdivision, and Stephanie asked me what that was, so I told her. She says that she wants to do that next year in middle school, so I told her "go for it!" How far does your son run?

HERSEY - I have some weeds I need to pull too ::yes:: I should do that this weekend too!!!

Well, I gotta go get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!
