Hi all!!!

This is a going to be a quickie today, because I allowed myself to stay in bed longer than normal (I went to bed with a headache yesterday, and I still have it this morning I ran 1 1/2 miles yesterday, and then walked 3 1/2 and the running gave me a screaming headache. I was hoping the Chiro adjustments, would have allowed me to run, but it hasn't . The Chiro has helped me to power walk w/o a headache anymore, so that's a great thing. I guess running is looking like it's not going to happen anymore )


DG - I'm glad you had a great weekend I mentioned to Kevin that you were going, and he said he would like to take the family there for a long weekend too. Maybe we'll try and do that sometime next year.

momto1 - The 11/2, does that mean 11 runs at 2 miles? I told Stephanie that if she wants to do this, she should start getting up with me on the weekends and start walking long distance, so she can start building up her stamina. She said she will, but when I wake her up at 6am, I think she'll say no way

Bunchkin - That's so funny about Tony scaring you when cleaning, because the same thing has happened to me. One time I had the music on loud, and the vaccuum going, and then Kevin came home. He came up behind me, to ask me something, and I didn't see him, or hear him, and I when I turned around I screamed because I was so freaked out - he laughed

Tiiiggggernnnnn - Do make your kids lunch everyday because the kids don't like to buy, or because the school doesn't offer lunch? The reason why I ask, is because my friend is sending her DD to a school this year that doesn't offer lunch, so she has to make a lunch for her DD everyday. This is the first time I heard of a school not offering a hot lunch.

ID - I'm glad you had a good time at CocoKey Where is that???
**I'm sorry to hear about your DD missing games when you are gone Since the vacation is a surprise, I would wait awhile to tell the coach. You don't want them to accidentally ruin the surprise for you.

Disneynut - Congrats on getting your car - that's great!!!
**Wow, I think your DS is the winner of who starts school the earliest. Bunchkins kids start tomorrow, and Stephanie starts Thursday. All of which are to early, in my opinion, I don't think they should start until after Labor Day.
**I'm sorry your leg is still bothering you - I hope it gets better soon!!!!

Good Morning Everyone! back to work today... i logged onto my computer to have 34 messages in my inbox most of them had nothing to do with me though so it was more of a delete or move to a different folder situation! Summer hours are officially over for us so i got to sleep an extra half hour... that was nice! i feel nice and refreshed!

Slo ~ sorry to hear about your headaches. when we were on vacation for some reason i kept getting really nasty headaches at night.

Bunchkin ~ i woke up today thinking it was monday so i know the feeling of being off a day!

Good morning everybody! Today is one of my late days at work. Bummer! DS bday party is this weekend and I have so much to do. I finally finished the menu last night and now need to shop for food and supplies. We always get a Dairy Queen cake and that isn't ordered yet either!

Slo - Looking back I see why 11/2 was confusing. He runs one and one half miles. Hopefully, Stephanie will get up and walk with you. I hope your headache goes away and your chiro can get you running again!

Bunchin and Tiggerrn - DS is going into 7th grade. Our middle school is 6,7,8 and they have lockers. They go tonight to find their lockers, work the combination and brind in their school supplies. It is nice because they don't have to lug the supplies to school on the first day - just an empty backpack! Of course the bonus of locker set-up night is seeing all the friends they didn't see during the summer.

Disneynut - Congats on the car. It sounds nice! The last 2 cars I bought used and had absolutley no problems with them. I will probably get my next car used, too. Enjoy your new wheels!

Had to run out for one last school supply today. Big erasers for DS. I swear I bought them 2 weeks ago when I got the kid's school supplies but they are no where to be found. Of course the kids could have lost them since they went through their supplies as soon as we got them home AND without me.

I am pampering myself later this week as it's the first week back to school AND the first time both kids will be in school all day.
Thursday I go in for a whirlpool pedicure, and Friday I get my hair colored!!



slo I hope your headache is gone by now! I've been having a lot of sinus headaches lately!


Tiggerrn That will be great if you guys can meet us at the Legoland Discovery Centre. Let me know! Like I said too, we never get together with family either on Labor Day.

irish dancer Junior high in our district is 7 & 8, middle scholl is 4 - 6. DD can't wait till she gets a locker! I think it makes them feel more grown up!

Afternoon everyone.
Went shopping today for the kids' school shoes. not cheap!!! But at least that job is done. I still need to double check lists to be sure I have it all before we leave. I don't want to be worrying about that junk on vacation. Picked up some swim trunks for DS for $3 on clearance!! He needed another pair. 1 wasn't going to cut it, and I was worried about them for the water park. They have those little metal rivets on them, and I had read somewhere on these boards that CMs won't let you on the water slides with those. So now he is set if we do decide to take in a water park one day.
Also picked up some books for them to read on the plane. DS got Star Wars and Clone Wars. DD got one of the new Fairy books and a Nancy Drew mystery. Should occupy them for a little while (in between DS playing).
Started some laundry today. Getting the suitcases down tonight and tomorrow-let the packing begin!!!! Glad we will miss the stormy weather. I hope it is all cleared out by the time we leave.

Slo, hope your headache has gone away. We do have hot lunches served at school, but the only day my kids will eat it is Wednesday (pizza day). So they take a lunch every other day of the week.

ID, I think I would wait until a couple of weeks before you go to tell the coach or your daughter. I remember coaches when I was playing. If they knew you were going to miss a tourney or even just miss some games, you didn't get as much playing time as anyone else. Not sure if it was retaliation or just them wanting to give the other players more playing time since they were going to be the ones playing in the important games.

Disneynut, congrats on the new car!!! Have you been to therapy for your leg? Maybe it needs some special stretches or extra treatments.

Well, I had best get to dinner fixin'. Making Chicken Ceasar Salad. Something simple for a summer day.

This is my last morning w/o having to battle with STephanie to get out the door and not miss her bus. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow morning, and neither is she She really enjoyed being with her daycare friends this summer - she had tons of fun!!!!!!


Thanks everyone for your nice posts about my recent round of headaches I woke up again with the same headache, so I didn't workout again today, because I know it will get aggravated. I'm really looking forward to my Chiro appointment today - I really need it!!! Luckily, the headache today, is not as intense as it has been, but it's still there, which is frustrating enough

Tiiiiiggerrrnnnnnnn - I need to go buy Stephanie some school shoes too, but I'm going to wait until fall/winter, because she wears her Crocs all the time when it's nice out. The shoes I buy her to are expensive, but I don't mind, because they are really good shoes. Where do you go for shoes? I go to a small family owned store, that's awesome with measuring the childs feet, and making sure the shoes fit properly. If you ever want to know where this place is at, give me a PM and I'll let you know (it wouldn't be around the corner for you, but it won't be that far either).

Morning all. Kids are off to camp today and the next 2. I have the house to myself!! Today will be cleaning day and finish all the laundry. Tomorrow will be a packing day (I have to go to work smack in the middle for a staff meeting ) and hopefully by Friday I will have it all together for a rest day for me.
Bunchkin, enjoy your pampering. I would love to find a moment for a pedicure before we leave, but I don't think that will work out. Guess I will have to paint my toenails myself.
Slo, I hope you are feeling better later today. Tell Steph we feel for her having to return to school so soon. At least she had a fun summer.

Kids are off to school!
After DS got on the bus I jumped in my car to meet him at his school with the rest of his supplies. There were just too many for him to carry.
So I see the bus pull in, and they're starting to let the kids off, but the bus driver is holding the first graders back for some reason , I see DS walk up to the driver and he is crying!! I told the driver he was with me and he got off. He says he was crying because he wanted to get off the bus and the driver wouldn't let them. I don't know if that's what it was all about though. I'll have to talk with him later, he should be home by 12:30. He did ride with his neighbor friend who I mentioned is now going to public school, so I thought the ride on the first day would be an easy one.
He seemed better after I got him off the bus and talked a bit. I walked him in and his teacher saw him and helped him get into line for her class. So I hope things got better.

Sorry to ramble on. I'm very close to DS and now he's gone all day. So I guess I'm having some slight seperation anxiety!!!! Who knew??





slo Do your headaches produce any facial pain at all? I hope you feel a little better today.

Hi guys!

Got a nice suprise in the mail today. We had run out of checks and I gave dh the re-order form and asked him to get one box. Well, they arrived today and he ordered Mickey & Pals checks w/a new cover! They are very cute, much more interesting than our old plain green ones.

Thanks for the feedback on dds volleyball. I think I'll wait a bit before I tell the coach. I agree that she'd probably not get played if they knew plus the more people that know about the trip the greater chance the suprise will ruined.

Disneynut - best of luck shopping for a new computer. Thankfully dh works for Sony and is a techie so he is in charge of electronics shopping in our house.

mr mac called this evening and coming home a day early from his trip.
when he told me that on the phone, i said, but you can't........i'm on a roll and i don't have any open time to schedule you in on thursday.

i have time friday night for you but nothing open for thursday.
he laughed.
i always tell him, once i make my schedule and tackle the jobs i have put off at home, he needs an appointment to talk to me.......

It's a big day around here

First of all, my baby is 5 years old today - 5!!!!!
Where in the heck did the time go????
So today I"m going to make her a special breakfast (an Eggo with a birthday candle - her request), and then we have to go buy her donuts to take to school. Then for dinner, she requested to go to Joes Crab Shack - she claims they have the best Mac-n-Cheese Then after dinner, we are going to go to ToysRUs so she can pick out some Legos, for the new Lego table we bought her (she doesn't know that yet). So she'll have a good day!!!!!


Second of all, Stephanie starts 4th grade today
I say again, where in the heck did the time go?????
I feel like she just started Kindergarten yesterday.
I hate how time moves so fast!!!!


My headache is basically gone - thank God!!!!!
Thanks to all that asked, and posted about it.
My Chiro told me to not run that much anymore, and we both agreeded that running may have to be taken out of my future . My neck can't handle the pounding. He told me that a treadmill might be better for me, because they are more cushioned, but the problem with that, is that I can't ever run a marathon though, and that's what I want the most. Oh well, I just have to stay focused now on walking a marathon, instead of running one.

Bunchkin - No facial pain These headaches I get are a certain type of headache that I get after my neck has been stressed out. It's hard for me to describe the pain, because it's something like nothing else. The only person that understood my pain was my Chiro, even my normal doctor looked at me like this
**I'm sorry to hear about Hunter having a hard start to his first day Did you find out exactly what happened? I hope he has a better day today, and has no more tears (it's so hard to see our little ones upset).

**I'm sorry you lost your walking partners Are you going to continue you walking where you were walking, or are you going to stay closer to home? I actually didn't find a gym, and I'm starting to think I will just workout at home. I have my Walking at Home DVD's that I love, and I also have my Stepbox aerobic tape, that I've been using for the last 13 years, that I love, so I'm going to stick to those. Then on the weekends, I will walk outside, when it's later in the morning, and still light out. I decided to not do the gym, because I don't want to spend the money - can you say cheap?

Mac - That's great about you getting all your chores done - I need a couple days like that too That's nice that Mr. Mac is coming home early - he must miss you

Being back in the real world stinks! We went from hmoon basically to school, work, commitments- ack! I don't want to grow up!
Anyway, to sum up the rest of the hmoon, dh loved it, so we will be able to live happily ever after! He was a big kid, loved meeting the characters, wanted to get an autograph book (I told him we could next time), and chatting with cmsand other visitors! He even started collecting pins and loved to trade them. We are tentativly planning our next summer trip with the kids!
slo- I can't imagine all that pounding would be good for the headaches. Are you looking for good cardio? If so, I highly suggest an elliptical machine. It is very smooth, but it really gets your heart rate up and burns calories. Oh, andhappy bday to dd!
mac- Happy belated bday!
