So we went to Great America yesterday. It was fun, kids had a blast. Only missed one "must" ride, so all in all a good day.

Traffic going up was slow, but I expected that. Coming home was a PITA because it seemed like I was the only one going anywhere close to the 45 mph limit. Sorry for not wanting a $375 fine, but there were just way too many people riding my bumper. A couple of times I could not even see the headlights of the car behind me, they were that close.

Dewain and I celebrated 14 years of marriage yesterday. We only spent about 30 minutes together, but that was OK.

I have a busy day today
I have to get the girls to school by 8am (they both have field trips today. Katie is going to The Shedd Aquarium and Steph is going to a place called The Enchanted Castle (an arcade)), and then I'm going to work for a short bit, and then I'm going out to lunch with some out of town relatives, and then I have to get the girls and come home to clean house in case these relatives come over tomorrow night. Never a dull moment today!!!!

I love having the windows open again. We are having friends over on Sunday to use the pool, and it'll be great to not have it so hot outside. I love hot when I'm alone and floating in the pool, but when I'm out of the pool alot, I don't want the weather to be super hot.


Disneynut - That's scary about the blood clot I'm so glad you're okay!!!

Bunchkin - I hope your shopping yesterday was a success. I need to take Steph out for her school supplies too. Her clothes are fine, so I don't need to worry about that, but I will need to take her shopping in Sept/Oct for fall/winter clothes - alot of her tops are to short.

**Did you ever decide on what you were going to read on the train? Have you heard of those Twighlight books? There's a thead about them on CB, and my one employee loves them. I may read the first one sometime, and see what I think of it. I"m curious if I'll enjoy it as much as others.

Well, I gotta go jump in the shower, and then brace myself to get the girls up early - I know they'll be crabby!!!! I'm not looking forward to Stephanie going back to school for this very reason.

The kids and I are going to the local farmer's market this morning. They love wandering around looking at everything that's for sale.

Hope the girls have a great time on their field trips. My kids love the Shedd and the big sea turtle they have there, her name is Nickel.
We spent so much on school supplies yesterday! Gosh, it was crazy!! Plus it was one of those shopping trips when I needed to stock up on stuff for everyone in the house....shampoo, toothpaste, hairspray, etc. I hate that kind of shopping trip, it always costs a fortune!!


disneynut I hope you're doing better since having to go to the hospital the other day. How much longer till the kids come home? Did your employees like their snack?

Good Friday Morning Chicagoland Homies! What an absolutely gorgeous day it is today! and the fact that it is friday makes it all the more gorgeous! not too many plans this weekend. i'm excited! Oh and I just thought I'd let everyone know that the Eric and Kathy (101.9) 36hour radiothon for Childrens Memorial Hospital is on until 6pm tomorrow. The stories are so sad yet so incredibly inspiring. Hopefully some of you can tune in.

Slo ~ I have been reading the Kathy Reichs books. She's the author who inspired the show BONES. which is my favorite TV show! I just bought another one of her books. I had never heard of these TWILIGHT books until recently. even now i don't know anything about them... i'll have to do my research!

Good Evening all...

Finally it's Friday. I can't believe this week has gone so slow. I finally decided to rest tonight. I still do not have my car but I am hoping to have it by the end of the weekend.

My leg is still really sore. For some reason the muscles keep tighting and it feels like my leg is stretching as far as it can. The bruises are starting to go away I just want to wear normal shoes again.

Kids come home next Saturday. It has been so quiet here. I know I should enjoy it and some times I have, but I don't like it so quiet all the time.

I got them lunch today which went over great.

Well I hope everyone's weekend goes great. I plan to rest a bit maybe catch a movie.

Next week I pick up Alex school schedule can you believe it. Where did the summer go? It seems like it just started. Even though he isn't saying it I think he is ready to go back to school. He is pestering me to take him school shopping. I've been putting it off.

Next week I am going High speed I switched to a dsl package with At&t supposedly I am going to have all what I have now for less than I'm paying just for my phone bill. I hope it is not more. The dail up is getting really bad and Alex is getting to a age where is computer really needs internet access without tieing my computer up.

This morning I'm going to the farmers market in Wheaton has anyone gone? I think it is one of the best in the area plus it is on the weekends so us working peeps can go.

Well I should get my housework done so I can get going before I get lazy.

Yes it is right in the downtown area on Libery which is south of the train tracks. They have pretzel bread in many different shapes almost like being in WDW

Thanks!! We completed the paperwork (pretty extensive, lol) and shipped it off FedEx today just in time for the deadline! Only going to Elmhurst, so we should be fine, though.

They told us would be either AKV or SSR so we are anxious to find out where they will put us up. Any one else planning a trip to WDW next June?

We've been busy the past few days with cleaning, laundry and taking the kids shopping. Took them and their neighbor friends to the mall yesterday and lunch at Cosi. The neighbor kids had never been to Cosi before, we got the Smores for desert!! YUMMY!!!!!!! They couldn't believe you could get make-your-own Smores at a restaurant. So cool!


DD is cleaning her room. Too much stuff in there that she doesn't play with anymore. I told her either she cleans it or I go in there with a garbage bag next week after they start school. So needless to say, she is cleaning.




CarolAnn I hope your paper work got delivered in time!!



Hersey My kids got their schedules a few days ago or so. I can't believe they go back to school soon!!

Hi guys! Looks like it was pretty light here today, I hope everyone was enjoying the beautiful day.

Tomorrow I'm having my youngests birthday party, her birthday isn't until the 29th but her best friend's birthday is in July so we're having a joint party for all the girls in their class. It's a pool party so I'm pretty happy they're forecasting nice weather.

I've been on-line a lot but haven't checked in here, sorry. I've been avidly following the AKV concierge saga. We were (note the past tense) booked in a 1br 10/4-11. Last week I caught wind here on the DIS about people being moved off the floor due to construction. I spoke with MS they knew nothing, thought I was crazy. Figured I'd call back and talk to a supervisor, she told me my reservation wasn't affected and I wasn't on her list. Well......today at 4:20p I got a call from another MS supervisor telling me we have indeed been moved. 54 days before our trip I'm finding out that we will not be staying at AKV concierge. We've been moved to BWV and are getting concierge access and a return of the difference in points. One problem I have with this is we are a family of 5, we booked a 1br at AKV because it can accomodate all of us. We are only getting a 1br at BWV which does not have a bed for each of us. When I asked the supervisor where my 3rd child was supposed to sleep the said, "hmmm, maybe I can find you an air mattress" . I told her I wasn't going to have one of my kids sleeping on the floor due to their error. She is going to "see what she can do" and get back to me.

There are A LOT of very unhappy DVC members. There has been no consistancy to where people are being moved and what is being offered. Some were notified 2+ weeks ago, I was called today and one wasn't notified until she called them. My party of 5 is being put in a 1br and another member's party of 9 is being put in a 2br, both violate the occupancy set by DVC . I can't imagine that they weren't aware of this "construction" more than 60 days out?!

Ugh, I'm happy we'll be in Disney and I'll get to try a resort we haven't stayed at before but I'm still sad I won't get my concierge stay at AKV .

It's so dark outside - HATE IT!!!!!

I'm sorry I haven't posted since Friday, but our internet & cable have been out since Friday night. It finally went back on late yesterday afternoon - thank goodness!!! It felt so weird having no internet and no tv for that long. I wonder what went wrong in our area, to have that out for so long That's never happened before.


Since I posted, we've had a lot going on, so I didn't really miss not having tv, except in the morning when I watch the news. Friday's lunch was less than enjoyable (the food that is), and then Friday night we went and pizza at my inlaws. Saturday I took all my girls (DD's and puppy) to get their picture taken, and they turned out awesome!!!!! Then we went out to dinner with the relatives Saturday night. Then yesterday we had friends over all day to use the pool, and then last night my friend and I took the girls to see some fireworks at a local fair. It was a very nice, busy, weekend


Bunchkin - I'm glad you had a successful school shopping day, and yes, those shopping days were you're getting the essentials are always so expensive I hate those type of shopping trips too
**I use the garbage bag threat with my girls too, and because they know I make good my threats, they take me very seriously. I have thrown things away before (nothing important, but it's still been tossed), so they know I won't hesitate to do it again

DG - Those Twighlight books are so popular, that it's being turned into a tv show. I guess they are written for the older teenager, but alot of grown-ups are crazy about them.

Disneynut - I'm sorry to hear about your leg being so sore. I'll send some PD your way for it to get better soon
**I bet you are so glad to have your kids home I don't love being home without my girls either. The only time I don't mind it, is when it's summer, and I can float in the pool alone. But as soon as I go into the house, I'm lonely - it's weird!!!!!

HERSEY - I have to register Steph for school today, and I agree with where did the time go????? Did Alex participate with making his schedule, or does he get whatever the school says? I can't remember how it was in middle school.

ID - I"m so sorry to hear about the problems with your vacation - I would be ticked!!!!! I hope everything works out, so you don't have to dread going back to your resort every night I feel bad for you, because I know how disappointed I would be.

good morning chicagoland homies.

just think........at 5:00 today, only 4 more work days this week....


i had to laugh over the garbage bag thing on cleaning a room.

when my boys were young and in grade school, they slacked off on picking up their toys.
mr mac got the leaf rake and raked all the toys on the floor in the family room into 3 leaf bags.

into the garbage.

they cried for 3 days.

never had the problem after that.

they had been asked repeatedly for 5 days, then warned, then told of the consequences.....after 10 days, the room was finally cleaned thanks to mr mac.

it's tough thing to do, but it never happened after that.


i think i missed out on my summer this year.
going to have to hit st louis area in a few years to get a taste of summer.

need to go check on the parents the week after labor day and then the next month the motherside and darkside trip.

i need to read back and see who else is going to orlando at the time i am.
