Thanks to all that gave their well wishes for Ms. Katie - she's much better now, and did great all day yesterday :) She went to work with me in the morning and early afternoon, and just relaxed in the office, watching movies. Than she took a great nap with Kevin at home, and then did great last night - thank goodness!!! I was really nervous about not being able to go today:rolleyes: Now lets hope Stephanie or me doesn't get it :wizard:

Today is a big day for Stephanie, she is getting her ears pierced before we go to the ice show. She is so nervous and excited at the same time :upsidedow I'll let you all know how it went.

Can you get over these temps today :cold:
Originally we wanted to go downtown all day, but with these temps we said, "PASS!!" So we are only going for the show and for dinner. It'll still be a good day!!!

Becky - Stay warm with all the running around you have to do today :cold:

Mac, - Did you DH make it home?

DS - :wave2:

Debbie - I'm so sorry to hear about your DD being sick with pneumonia:guilty: I will send her tons of PD to get better soon:wizard: Please keep us posted on how she is doing.

piglet - I"m sorry your DH doesn't like Ed Debevics:guilty: Maybe someday, when it's warm, we can have a DIS Meet there - that would be lots of fun!!! :cool1:
*Thanks for the link!
*How is Lauren feeling today? I hope she gets better soon :wizard:

paint - I have a couple boxes of that pound cake, and I've been waiting for the perfect time to make it, but reading your post makes me want to make it just for me - I think I will next weekend :scratchin

crzykid - It snowed a pinch here late yesterday afternoon, but it didn't stick. It was just enough to annoy:headache:
**I hope you had fun sledding!!

Bunchkin - Oh, you should tell about that - her report would really stand out!!!! :thumbsup2 I know how you feel though, because when Stephanie did her heritage report, Kevin said she should talk about how our last name didn't have the O originally, and his great grandfather put it there when he came to America, because he was wanted for war crimes   I told him - "I don't think so!!!" Good luck with getting the report done - those type of things stress me out:headache:

HERSEY - Kevin did go to the auto show on Thursday, when they had the charity formal night. Kevin, his dad, and his best friend love getting all dressed up in their tuxs for this. They had an extra ticket, and I could have gone, but I don't have a formal gown, and I had to close the store that night. Oh well, maybe next year

Donna - I"m glad Marks sister is doing okay, and I'll keep her in my prayers to not have anymore setbacks. Please keep us posted on how she is doing!!
**I'm a wimp to cold too - you're not alone :) I often wonder too why we live here:rotfl: I bet the ice sculptures were nice to see. I guess they are having something like that in Millinieum Park today, but it's just to cold to go :cold:

Well, I'm off to make some breakfast and then get ready to go
Have a good day today everyone!!!

IT'S FREEZING!!! :scared1: I can't get our home warm enough. I've had the heat cranked since last night and it finally just got up to 67 in here. Still too cold for our liking. Not even my huge Mickey hoodie is keeping me warm. Poor DD is covered in Nemo blankets trying to stay warm. I dread having to go grocery shopping later.

Try to stay warm everybody!

This is why I crave a WDW ticker....

DD seems better but I am watching her closely. Thanks for thinking about her. I desperately want to get out of the house but no....DH is home to watch the kids and the temperature plummets! Once again I am stuck inside. Oh well.....

Stay warm my Illinois firends (and Indiana of course)

Every morning I check the local temp and the temp at WDW. During the winter it's very depressing, but it's not so bad during the summer.

Today is a big day for Stephanie, she is getting her ears pierced before we go to the ice show. She is so nervous and excited at the same time I'll let you all know how it went.

How fun! Have agreat time. We LOVED:love: the show. Stay safe and pack up the car with blankies, gloves, clothes and food, etc!!!! How long does it actually take you to drive there? It's not bad, right?

Slo- Good luck with the ear piercing! DD was 4 when she got hers done. She cried for a second. then I bought her some new earrings. That made everything better! She was so proud, too!
DShrink- Stop checking the temps! My sis just went down to WDW today- 3rd time in less than a year. Hate her!
piglet- I love all TS stuff! If my dd's godmother didn't sell it, I would! Ds loves it, too. I think he is a future rep. I think it's a little odd for an 8 year old to get that excited about it!
Bunchkin- Oh come one! All that Sicilian stuff could really jazz up a report! Sicilian necktie, cement shoes, the school will love it!
mac- Thanks for getting my back. Do you do Catholics? haven't been to church since dd's christening...:rolleyes1
House is clean, ready for the party. i am going to take the kids to lunch so they don't mess it up! You know how that goes. It never stays clean for long!
Stay warm, if that is even possible.

A meet at Ed Debevics would be so much fun!

My husband was at the Charity night one time. I guess it is four years ago now when they did the "Stand By Your Van" contest and he was in that. They gave all of them special tux t-shirts to wear during the special event. He did not win the van, but was the third man left, so not too shabby. He won a Best Buy gift card that we used to buy a new TV.

Debbie ~ Sorry to hear about your DD, hope she gets better fast.

Donald's Shrink ~ Our furnace is having a hard time keeping up too, stay warm!

:wizard: for Stephanie. My DD wants to get her ears done, but I am holding off as long as possible.

debbie i see by your temp gauge we are colder than you.
just checked and we are minus 5 with the wc of -30.

i'll take your 3 degrees over my -5 anyday.
wanna switch??

slo, everything will go fine for dd today. getting the ears done will be a piece of cake. she'll be thinking and concentrating on the show and not her ears tonight. good she is feeling better.

donald: you know what cold is.........i feel your pain.
you are in an open area so the drifting and blowing are treacherous for you.

did church and then jewel.
now to organize it all and start for an early dinner.

stay warm chicagoland homies....

got you covered paint, i do catholics and the heathens also..........
i pray for all believers or not.

Thanks for the well wishes for DD.
Yeah Mac...we are toasty compared to you!:rotfl2:

It is so cold! I usually go out to dinner with my parents on Sundays, but we're skipping tonight! :cold:

If anyone has today's Tribune, check out the back page of the Perspective section, on the bottom half of the page...that's my parents! :rotfl2: It's an ad for Monarch Landing, where they live, and they had some of the residents do a photoshoot, and this is the second time they've used their ad. Last time it was a quarter page in the front section. Hilarious, they're like celebrities or something. :lmao:

Just got the call, 2 hours delay tomorrow because of the cold:banana: I work at the school:rotfl: I am laughing now but come June it won't be so funny when we have to make up days. Stay warm friends:goodvibes

hi michelle.

just as cold here as it is where you are.

that bites.......

how's roman doing?
one of my sons had that surgery that roman had/will have

Hey Mac, Roman is doing pretty well! He had an appt on Saturday and he's in the 75th percentile for ht and wt! So he's my big boy :) hahaha!!

He goes in for some pre-op work this week, just testing i'm assuming, they didn't tell me too much! haha!

roman will improve with the tubes in is ears.

we waited until todd was a year old before he had the surgery.
after surgery he could hear noises like the phone ring, toilet flush, doorbell ring, tv, etc.......he improved greatly after that.

he was taking sign language at an infant center. it was very frustrating for him trying to communicate .

We debated waiting for his surgery, but he started losing the hearing he had in his good ear very quickly, so we decided to do it straight away. The Dr. also said that flying will be much better for him without the fluid in his ears.

What a great day we had yesterday!!! :)

Stephanie did awesome with getting her ears pierced:thumbsup2
She picked out nice cubic zirconia (sp?) studs, and was very brave getting them put in. She did want to sit on my lap, and she did hang on tight to my arm, but that's okay - I like the fact that she still needs her mom to feel secure:goodvibes She said her ears stung for awhile, but by the time the ice show was over, she said they had no pain anymore :thumbsup2

The ice show was one of the best I've seen:thumbsup2
It was put together wonderfully, and the coreography was fantastic - alot of fun!!! :cool1:

Then we went out to eat at Ed Debevics - it was so yummy!!!! :goodvibes We had the rudes server, and he was great!!! :) He was so loud, he threw straws on the table when he gave us our drinks, he was giving Kevin a hard time everytime he asked for a refill - he was funny!!! Stephanie didn't know what to think of him, because she's not used to a server being so rude:eek: He was great and really deserved his tip!!! :thumbsup2

DS - I hope your house was able to heat up :cold:

Debbie - I'm glad your DD is getting better. I'll still send her more get well PD to keep getting better:wizard:
**It doesn't take us long to get there at all, as long as there's no bad traffic:rolleyes:

paint - How was your party last night?

piglet - I don't blame you for waiting. The only reason why we did it now (and Katie will be at the same age), is because we thought it would be nice for her first communion:goodvibes If she didn't have that, I don't think we would be doing it now either.

Mac - You were right about Steph - she really did great!!!! :thumbsup2
**Thanks for the listings!!!! :)

Leigh - How fun about your parents being in the paper :cool1: You should frame that for your parents anniversary or a birthday - they would love it (not by me, unless you wanted to drive all the way out here, but by your local framer). If you like that idea, and you have any questions about it, don't hesitate to ask :)

bonz - I never thought about a delay today - I will have to check our school website.

DMM - Try to not be to scared about Roman's surgery  Both of my kids have been through it (Katie at 8months) and they both did great :thumbsup2 In fact, today Stephanie is seeing her ENT about having her one tube surgically removed - she's not happy!!!!
**How has Roman been since having the RSV? Is he still on a nebulizer?

Well, I better run - Monday is sheet changing day on all the beds
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Hi gang! I know we are all freezing but I don't understand why our maintenance staff at work don't regulate the heat over the weekend! I am so cold in my office I am wearing my winter coat. But, at least I am not in the 2 flooded office from the pipes bursting. Ahhh....what a way to start a Monday.

Paint - How was the party? Blm/Normal is just a hop, skip and jump from the party in Hudson. Since you live in Blm/Normal, have you ever gone to the Hearts at Home conference? It is in March and for moms. It is great! You should check it out if you haven't been.

Slo - Way to go Stephanie on her pierced ears! I bet she feels so special. Glad that the ice show was great. I haven't been to any type of ice shows in year. But, I do love 'em!

Got the automated call from the school at 6:40 that some buses might be running late since they didn't start and to watch your kids at the bus stop to make sure their bus arrives. DS bus arrived right on time which is funny since his bus drivers is usually never on time! I am glad he didn't have to stand in the sub arctic weather for long!

Stay warm.
Lori

Good morning all!! :wave2:

Busy week ahead!

Made a reservation this morning for a hotel in Middleton WI for the American Girl annual benefit sale again this summer!!! :cool1:
The whole family is going this year, including the boys. It is Hunter's b-day the day before the sale, so I picked a hotel with a fun themed pool. So we can celebrate his b-day up there. Have fun in the pool, take him to dinner and I'll need to check into getting him a cake from a bakery or store up there.

Anyone else planning on attending the sale??

slo Congrats to Steph on the earrings!!:cool1:
Good to hear you had a good time last night at the ice show and dinner! :thumbsup2 What fun that must have been!!
Sheet changing day here to! In fact Miss Sassy Pants reminded me of that first thing this morning!!! Like I need to be reminded of what needs to be done around here!!!

DMM Hope Roman's testing and surgery go smoothly for him.

momto1 I hope the people with the pipe burst in the office didn't have to stay!!!

paint How was your TS party?? Did you like the new line up of products for the winter?
I will not even state here what I learned about DH's grandfather!!!! Let alone tell DD!!! I'm keeping mum!!! :rolleyes1

Gotta run!!
