slo Wow you did a lot yesterday!! I got tired just reading about it!! :goodvibes

bunchie, i was thinking the same thing about slo.
she wore me out just reading about how busy she was.

about all i did yesterday was brush my teeth.....

Hi, Chicago friends!

We had a really nice time at the Lights Festival. We didn't quite turn into the ice cubes I thought we would, it was actually a bit warmer in the city (warm, of course, being a relative term..you know, 30 degrees IS warmer than 20 degrees!) :) We don't just do the parade, we go down for the whole weekend, so we spent Saturday at the Festival Lane and then we looked at the decor in the various hotels. We also went to the Signature Room at the John Hancock Building for lunch on Saturday. It was a pretty clear day so we had a good view from the 95th floor. We also saw the enormous Christmas train display they have set up there, truly amazing. We went to the Knickerbocker Hotel, where Dickens carolers were singing, and they had complimentary warm cider and cookies, and then across the street to the Drake Hotel to see their gorgeous Christmas tree, and the small village train display set up there. The festival itself was beautiful, Mickey Mouse magically lit the trees on Michigan Avenue (I just LOVE seeing that!). Michigan Avenue looks so gorgeous when all the tiny white lights are lit, I love it at night! <and I tried to wave to everyone that was watching on the sofa, did you all see me??>:happytv: On Sunday, we went and saw the window display at Macy's. Uh..not a clue what that was supposed to be about??? :confused3 Then, we went and looked at the Christmas tree they have set up in the Walnut Room there; that is one HUGE tree! And, it's very RED. Then, we went to Water Tower to Mark's fav lunch place (Food Life), and then did some shopping, including checking out the new American Girl store at Water Tower. It's much larger, and seemed much less crowded than their old location. We took the train home late Sunday, and this morning, I was exhausted when I got up for work....but we really had a good time, and it helps to start the holiday season for us!

Hope everyone has a good evening...and I hope this long post doesn't get misplaced like my last one did...

Shout out to ALL!!!

so i sat and watched the entire parade looking for you and your sign yesterday donna......

i got worn out also just thinking of everything you did yesterday.......

between you and slo, i was one tired person last night.

btw, could not find any tv listings for disney tv this week.
sorry.

Stephanie had her last basketball games yesterday, and she did so great!!!! She made so many baskets, that the teacher/referee told her before the 1/2 time of the 2nd game to not make any more shots, and to pass the ball to other girls - I felt kinda bad for her. There were so many times that she had a perfect shot, and she would've made it, but then she had to pass the ball. She was also told not to steal the ball anymore, because she's really good at stealing. Out of all the games they played this November, she was responsible for scoring at least 85% of all the points. I guess I"ll be signing her up for Biddi-Ball next year :scratchin

DG - All the money you are going to make from both jobs is going to be awesome for you!!!!:yay: How long will you be working both jobs? Is it just a Christmas thing, or are you doing it in 2009?
**Katie brought up the deer again yesterday, and talked about how gross it was - but she was still okay with it. I'm a little surprised myself, because it was a VERY gross sight to see.

Bunchkin - I couldn't imagine my kids seeing that movie:eek: Some of the parts that I saw were very graffic:eek: I didn't see Tom Cruise at the end, because we didn't get that far. I'm not a fan of Tom Cruise either, so watching him make an *** out of himself would've been the most entertaining part of the movie for me.:)
**Wow, gas is that low by you - that's awesome!!!!!!:woohoo: I have to get gas today, and it is $1.83 over here. I didn't hear about the gas war, but I agree how wild it is to see the news helicopters. When we had the big flooding this year, and when the hospital flooded in Aug 2007, we had all the helicopters here too.

Donna - You and Mark always have such a nice time wherever you go:goodvibes Did the windows at Macy's have Santa in it? I thought I saw on the news that the windows actually looked Christmasey this year. But I wasn't paying that close of attention, and I could be wrong.

Mac - You just rest up and heal  Brushing your teeth is all you need to be doing right now:) How are you feeling?

Well, I better get ready for work.
I need to make a frame delivery before I go to work today, and then tonight I am going to a customers house to discuss all the items they want to frame, so today will be a very filled day also.

Have a great day today everyone!!!!

sounds like another busy day for slo!

still cold here.
welcome mr winter and miss snow...

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning! Mike came over last night and we played Scrabble... he beat me by 13 pts:sad2: Scrabble is kind of our winter game, I love it! I am hoping I get the nice version for xmas. i've been asking for it for 3 years but it is apparently always sold out! it's the nice wooden one with the drawers underneath it for storage! that way it can sit out on a table and people can form words when they walk by... kind of like a puzzle!

Donna ~ I'm glad you didn't freeze this weekend! Sounds like you had a wonderful time!

Slo ~ Sounds like Stephanie is a star bball player! i used to play basketball in junior high and loved it! it seems like just yesterday.... aaaaaaahhh memories.

Everyone ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day! :goodvibes

afternoon chicagoland homies.
back from PT and a tad sore.
i think it is one of those, no pain, no gain things...

they really have you moving when you are here.
i have the execises i have to do at home and the ones at the rehab facility.
the ones there deal primarily with the equipment and the massage portion when i am hooked up to a machine.

the therapist dropped a bomb shell on me right when i was leaving.
she said the doc wants me in pt for up to 3 months.
the insurance company stated they will only pay for 6 visits.

i hate these aggravations.
i especially dread dealing with an insurance company.

good thing Tday is coming up.
i'm gonna do thawing tomorrow........mr tom turkey will look lovely on our dining room table on thursday..:goodvibes

Good afternoon everyone.
Slo, you did enough for everyone on this thread here this weekend. So now we can all just sit and relax. If you are still looking to do more tree decorating, I have one here you can put up.:rolleyes1
Mac, keep up the hard work in therapy. You'll be glad for it when you are finished. Usually if the Physical Therapist writes a note explaining the need for further therapy, the insurance companies will grant the visits. It is just a pain. Mine would grant them in series of 6 treatments at a time. I did that for 6 weeks. So I had to get referrals twice to extend the therapy. But I was glad they kept at it. I still feel the old ankle when it gets really cold, but for the most part, it's as good as new.
Bunchkin, were you all decorating the trees that the zoo has on display during the Holiday light shows?
DG, I love to play Scrabble. I love board games. Too bad for me that DH doesn't enjoy that stuff. Now I have no one to play with.:sad1: The kids are both sore losers.
Donna, sounds like you all had a wonderful weekend.

:dance3: ALL DONE!!!!:cool1: The shows went fairly well. No major glitches and no injuries, so all is well in my opinion. Now we just have DD classes near home and getting ready for Winterdance in January. Once that is over, it will be time for Peter Pan auditions again. :faint:
Well, guess I'll go finish :laundy: and clean up a little here before dinner. Later all!

Hi, all!

Slo..yes the Macy's windows did have Santa Claus in them. Still didn't like them, though.:( and, ewwww...for the deer thing..

Mac..hang in there with your therapy, and good vibes for dealing with the insurance issues.

DG, Tigg...I LOVE to play Scrabble. Once in a great many days, I can talk Mark into playing Scrabble. I have a cousin who is blind, and she plays an excellent game of Scrabble. She has a board where the tiles interlock onto the board, and I think it's amazing that she plays so well! <I think we shld have a DIS-board Scrabble tournament!:)>

Everyone...enjoy the rest of the day...tonight is the finale of Dancing with the Stars:)

Hi gang! Only one more day of work for me this week! I hope to sneak out early tomorrow but it probably won't happen.

Slo - I'm pooped reading your posts! Way to go to Stephanie! Maybe you have a future basketball player in your family. Did you or dh play basketball?

Mac - Take care and heal up soon! Don't overdo it on Tday.

Sounds like the weekends were great for many of you. I have to check out the lights at the Promenade in Bolingbrook. That sounds nice. Need to plan our trip to MSI to see the trees around the world. And then there's the Kris Kringle Market. Will there be enough time?

I will check in tomorrow.
Lori

mom to 1.............i decided to make pizza.

there are 3 in the freezer.

a very easy meal for me to do !!

it's not the insurance company that is the issue, it is the company that makes the decision for the insurance company for the approval.

my ins. co. abides by what they are told.
calling them is useless..i tried before.
was told i can have 80 pt sessions per calendar year but it has to go thru an outsourced company for the nod yes ...

i heard we are having a warm up on thursday.....

best news i have heard all day!!

in my mind it is warm outside.....
when i step out, i am brought back to reality.....:sad2:

i need to play scrabble sometime with some of you homies.

i have been known to win a few rounds of that game but then i cheat a lot..

Mac Let me know if you need help with that company to get you more pt.

I am glad to hear it is going to warm up. It is a little nippy out there tonight. I am finally done with all the grocery shopping. :thumbsup2

Sorry the brag again. Alex received an invitation to attend the National junior leaders conference. I will need to see about a scholarship since it will be big $$ but a great experience for him.

Scrabble I haven't played in forever. I love games.

Donna We are all ready here for the Finale :thumbsup2

HI..

MAC how is PT going???

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving..

Are you Black Friday shopping?? I always go.. but thre is nothing to buy this year... so I may sleep late and then do OCB for breakfast. I got an email from them for $5.99...

did anyone here watch the finale of the Shield tonight?

the last 37 minutes had little or no sound.
what sound came out was so muffled it didn't even sound like english....

i waited all these weeks for the ending of this series and .............
a big fat zero........

ugh

I'm so excited to only be open until 5pm today, and then closed tomorrow:woohoo: I don't get to sleep in, because Stephanie and I are going to 9am Mass, but that's okay, it's great to know that I don't have to rush to work:)

Thanks to everyone that was happy for Stephanie - I"ll show her your posts!!!:goodvibes

DG - I'm going to frame a Scrabble game for a display at the store. I'm going to form words that have to do with the store in the example. I'm doing this, because I think it would be a cool gift for someone to do this for a loved one, that has words that describe their relationship. Wouldn't that be cool?!?!

Mac - I was always sore after PT too :guilty: I"m sorry to hear about the issues with your insurance company:guilty: I hope you are able to work things out, so you can continue going:wizard:

TTTTTTigerrrrnnnnnnnnn - I'm going to tell Kevin to open that WDW box today and take your photo album out. We've been home a month, and that box is still sitting there unopened:headache: I'll let you know when I have it.
**I'm glad Kellie's shows went well - now you can relax a little:)

Donna - I'm glad you told me the windows aren't great, because now we won't go. I was thinking that we would go sometime this season, because the windows had Santa involved. But I'll save on the gas and parking, and stay home:thumbsup2

momto1 - I used to play a little basketball when I was a kid, but was never a star player. My mom still has a basketball net at her house, and we have one here, so Stephanie is always practicing her shots. She's always seemed to enjoy it, so maybe this is her calling on what type of sport to participate in :)

HERSEY - Hooray for Alex!!!!:cheer2: Where is this conference at?

geffric - We haven't been to OCB in forever. I enjoy going to breakfast - maybe we'll go Sunday :scratchin

Well, I gotta run and get Stephanie out of bed early. She has to go to school early, because the executive staff of the student council (she's VP) has to do a presentation in front of the school staff. Have a good day everyone!!

Happy day before turkey Day to all my Chicagoland homies! :flower3: Hope everyone has their grocery shopping done! I made my pie crusts last night so they would have plenty of time to chill in the fridge! I added cinnamon to them this year! I hope it tastes ok! I have to work 8-midnight at W-S for a floor move. I LOVE floor moves! The time goes by so fast and I like setting up displays and what not. I'm going to need to get up super early tomorrow though b/c I need to make my pie... Cranberry Apple, yummy! And then need to make my sweet potatoes... my sister wants us at her place by 1:30, :scared1: I hope I can get them all done with time to spare to get ready and watch the parade! I am a big fan of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

Slo ~ Stephanie is quite the busy bee! :goodvibes Your frameds Scrabble game sounds nice! I think it would be a wonderful gift! Good thinking!:thumbsup2

Mac ~ I hope everything works out with the insurance and your PT. I'll keep you in my thoughts!:wizard:

Tigg, Donna and Hersey ~ Glad to know I'm not the only one around here who enjoys a good board game! :goodvibes

Everyone ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day! I'll try and check in tomorrow but if I can't get on.... Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!! Gobble Gobble!!

Watched it last night and had some sound issues but nothing major...just seemed like the volume was fluctuating louder and quieter for a while. This was on Comcast downtown.

Watched it last night and had some sound issues but nothing major...just seemed like the volume was fluctuating louder and quieter for a while. This was on Comcast downtown.

glad to know someone else had issues.
thought i was going nuts.

i tried other channels and the sound was normal for all of them. i tried the other tvs in our house but same thing for FX channel.

we could not get any sound but a blurb at times.
it sounded like .....blrrf when we did get sound.
ours was major and i have cable also.
i'm in the zion area by the WS border.

thanks for letting me know it must have been comcast.
but wait, why would i have sound for all the other channels if it was due to comcast?

and to all the other chicagoland homies, hi !!

sorry but i guess you know where my loyalties run this morning.....
i was so hooked on the shield.

Hi all!!

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving tomorrow. :goodvibes
We are spending it with my mom. We are going out to eat this year. We never do this, but no one wants to cook this year. We are going to Starved Rock for their HUGE Thanksgiving day buffet. Should be really yummy!! I called weeks ago for a ressie and they were almost already booked all up!!!

slo Congrats to Stehanie on doing so well in basketball!!
I hope you know that we didn't bring OUR kids to see that movie!!!
There were older teens and it looked like some of them brought along younger ones too. I don't know how far you got into the movie but Tom Cruise didn't look like himself AT ALL!!! He was the movie executive bald guy.

Donna Sounds like you and Mark had a great time downtown!!

Hersey Congrats to Alex!!! What does this mean for him?

disneygal Maybe someone could order the Scrabble game you want off of the internet instead of trying to find it in a store.

Gotta run! It's been cleaning day here and I still need to finish upstairs!

Hi all!

I hope you all have a great thanksgiving in case you don't come on tomorrow.

Bunch I hope you have a good time at Starved rock with your Mom.

Bunchy - have fun. I went to the starved rock brunch once.. it was wonderful..
