Bunchkin I am glad that Tony's mom is doing the chemo. How is Tony holding up?

Yup it was cold out there today. At least I didn't have to argue with a certain someone about wearing a warm coat today:headache:

nothing to add but let you know it is as cold up here as it is for you on the other side of the chgo border....

Hi all!

Tomorrow DD and I are heading to the zoo with the Girl Scouts to do the annual trim-a-tree they have. Bringing along hot chocolate. Like that might help us stay warm!!!

slo The doctor did not say what she thinks I have. And I'm not even sure she wants to guess at this point. I've had this one lymph node for a long time, years now. And the other in my neck is new. I've had a tumor once before behind my right year and had it removed. And the doctor I had then said I might be susceptible to getting more, but who knows if that is what's going on.
I hope your sale at the store gets a lot of people to come. :thumbsup2

Hersey Tony is very worried for his mom, of course, but hopeful.

momto1 Even though your son will be cold at least the senery will be wonderful to look at. ;) Pilcher Park ends next to my subdivision.

Need to get the kids to bed. No school this up coming week for them.

i will be in my uniform, mis matched sweats outfit, with my butt on the couch, blankets on top of me watching tv tomorrow.

::yes::

i don't do cold weather

I'm putting up Christmas tree #1 today after I get home from work

10.gif

I just love the holidays!!!!!!:goodvibes

geffric - I bet the city was cold yesterday :cold: Are you close to where you used to work before? I know you used to be in the Sears Tower.

HERSEY - I'm so glad that Stephanie doesn't give me a hard time about a coat and hat yet, but I know it will come. Stephanie found some great hats at The Childrens Place last weekend that is warm, but pretty cool looking. I bought them for her, because I thought if she likes em, then I know she'll wear em:thumbsup2

Bunchkin - Have a good time at the zoo today. I hope you don't get to cold:wizard:
**I hope you don't have another tumor:wizard: Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

ADisneyFamily - :wave2:

Mac - Can I come join you on the couch - that sounds great!!!!!:thumbsup2
*How are you feeling?

Well, lots to do today!!!
I gotta take Steph to choir, go to work, get Steph from choir, make lunch, run alot of stuff to the storage garage, take stuff out of the storage garage and take it to work, go the grocery store, go to Dicks for a new winter coat (I need something heavy duty for when I take Sophie out - like something people in Fargo wear:laughing: ) go to church, put up the tree, go to bed. That's my day in a nutshell :faint:

Have a good day everyone!!!

So I wrote a whole long reply, and it got lost in cyberspace, but if it ever gets found and this posts twice, I apologize in advance!

So, it's cold and it's the day for the Lights Festival! Ugh! Gotta go and get my Disney in Chicago fix, though!

Bunchkin...continued thoughts & prayers go out to you & your family...know that your friends are here for you. (hugs) Have a good time today at the zoo.

Slo.have fun putting up your tree!

Hersey...good to know that a certain someone won't turn into a popsicle.

Mac..have a warm beverage & think of me freezing outside.

All...have a great day...watch abc tv for the live broadcast of the lights festival, look for all the crazy cold folks out there!!

Good morning!

Bunchkin The weather is supposed to be warmer today, I hope. Have a good time at the zoo stay warm.

Anyone want a crazy dog that loves the cold? Hershey is running around the house looking for someone awake enough to play. I think he lives in the wrong house for that.

I have to rake up leaves today. Yes I know sounds like fun fun fun. And don't anyone get an idea to come over and help.;)

Hi guys! Brrrr, it is cold. It makes it feel more like winter than fall, hope they're right about the 40s forecasted for this week.

Boy it feels like Sunday, so glad it's not but we were in church this morning for DD7 to make her First Reconciliation and then out to breakfast, went to the in-laws and got a TON of outside work done (leaves are all bagged, gutters cleaned out, mower winterized and snowblower out and readied). I think tonight will be movie night and early to bed!

DS has this whole week off coming up, wonder what I'm going to do with him all day ;) . Girls are off Wed-Fri. I did all my grocery shopping for Thursday and will start getting ready this week. We are having the in-laws and Bil for dinner. Yumm! I love Thanksgiving.

paint - I like your idea with the snow, I could handle that. If winter didn't last so long around here maybe it wouldn't be so bad but it's going to be like this until April now - ugh!
*Best of luck with the rest of the semester, hope it all goes well (and quickly)

slo - I think I'll ask for the Polar Express soundtrack for Christmas. I had the Candlelight Processional on in the car the other day very, very loud - the other cars could probably hear it  .
*That corn casserole sound yummy, can you pm me the recipe?
**My girls never give me a hard time about hats for school, they have an 80+yr old nun for a principal and she requires them to have hats and golves or no recess! Now if I could get them to comply on the weekends.......

Tiggerrn - "break a leg" to Kellie, I so wish one of my girls would have stuck with ballet and been in the Nutcracker I just love it. I remember when I was around 7 my older brother took me downtown to see it, of course I fell asleep but I still remember that night so long ago!

Bunchkin - I'm glad Tony's mom decided to have the chemo and I hope all goes well.
*:wizard: that you're feeling better soon and that the doctor has good news for you!
**Brr, I hope you stayed warm at the zoo today! It sounds like fun.

mac - I like your plan for the day, I wish I could do the same. Maybe tomorrow.......

Donna - don't you just hate when you lose a long post. I've taken to copying mine frequently so if something goes haywire I can paste it.
*Stay warm downtown!

Hersey - your dog is the complete opposite of ours. Our Jack Russell starts shivering when you ask her if she wants to go out. She makes it to the end of the driveway and starts pulling back toward the house. Whimp! :rotfl:
*We did the last of the leaves today too. Glad that's done.

Ok, I guess my 'break' is over. Need to get something fixed for dinner. I think it'll be the pizzas that are in the freezer.

Have a great night everyone. :flower3:

good saturday morning chicagoland homies.

wait, it's evening time. i'm living on the couch.......the tv and i have become best friends this past week.

my days and nights are all mixed up.
my blonde brain does that to me sometimes...

hope all are enjoying the weekend so far.

talk later.....

Good Morning

I never got to the leaves yesterday so today they must go. I spent too much time shopping for thanksgiving and getting a few christmas gifts. I came home with a wonderful sinus headache.

I am amazed, the price of gas has finally gotten below 2.00 around here :woohoo:

Mac how is pt going? Do they have you doing anything at home too or too soon?

I need to go moving here. I have a birthday party later so I suppose I should wrap the gift huh ;) I am still feeling that headache.

Have any of you seen the movie Fargo???
Do you recall the big coats they wore, and especially the HUGE hoods on those coats?
Well, that's the kind of coat I bought yesterday :rotfl:
I wanted something like that, for when I take Sophie out, and I wouldn't rest until I found it. We couldn't find anything like it at Dicks, or Kohls, so I finally thought about going to Cabellas (an outdoors store for hunters and things like that) and I found it:woohoo: This hood is so big, that I LOL when I saw myself in the mirror. But I don't care, because I'll be warm, the wind will be off my face, which is especially important when I take Sophie out first thing in the morning. :thumbsup2

Today is Christmas tree today :santa:
The house looks like someone dropped a bomb on it :rotfl:
Between all the boxes for the decorations, and all boxes for the garage sale - it's terrible!!!! I have a lot of work today, but at least I can do it in my sweatpants, with no makeup - that makes for an awesome day!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Donna - How was The Festival of Lights Parade yesterday? I thought of you when I saw it on the TV.

HERSEY - Gas is cheaper here too - $1.83:yay: I need to go fill up!!!
**How is your headache today? I hate sinus headaches - we'll, I hate any headaches:headache: I hope you are doing better, and are able to get those leave up today:wizard: My tree looses it's leaves in January/February, which is good and bad at the same time. It's good, because this tree is right outside Steph's window, and it gives her privacy when the blinds are open (she sometimes forgets to close them at night, and I find her undressing for bed with the light on:eek: ), and it's bad, because it gives me alot of work in the Spring, and the leaves are all soggy and nasty:scared: I hate it!!!!!

ID - Congrats to your DD making her first reconciliation :) How did she do? Was she nervous? Stephanie was nervous, and when it was her turn (at our church they have several priests that listen to the children) she went to our priest, and was up there a long time:eek: Kevin and I were asking each other, "what is she saying??" I didn't ask, because I felt that would be wrong, it's between her and God, but she volunteered the information about how she doesn't listen sometimes, teases her sister, and all that kinda stuff. I was just releaved that it was stuff I already knew about:laughing: I guess the priest never did this:scared1:  so that was a good thing:rotfl2:
**Have a nice time with your DS this week:goodvibes I would love it if Stephanie was off for a week.

Mac - Did you watch any good movies yesterday? Kevin rented Tropic Thunder yesterday, and it was so bad that we stopped watching it  I'm so glad he got that movie out of the red box at Jewel, so he only paid a $1 for it, instead of $3.00 for it at a movie store.

Here's the receipe for Corn Pudding for ID or anyone else interested:)

Corn Pudding!!!

1 stick of melted butter
1 can of creamed corn
1 can of regular corn (drain 1/2 the liquid)
8oz of sour cream
1 Jiffy corn bread mix

Grease a 1 1/2 qt casserole dish
Mix all ingredients and pour into dish
Bake 1 hour at 375 uncovered - test for doneness with toothpick

Well, I guess I should start decorating the tree.
The earlier I start, is the earlier this house can go back to normal:thumbsup2

Have a great Sunday everyone!!!

good sunday morning chicagoland homies.
i'm not able to go to church today so i hope someone here will go and cover our backs for this week...

Good Morning

hersey, about those leaves........maybe a really big wind will come along and take all those leaves to your neighbors yard...
it is very nice to share.
and you will feel much better when you can give the leaves away....:rolleyes1

Pt started Friday and i do a lot of exercises at home. it's kind of like, no pain no gain for me now. my pt at the rehab place was set up for 3x's week.
if i can improve, it will be dropped to 2x's a week which is my goal.
i'm hanging in there. they tell me if i'm a "good"girl, i can be weaned off of the 2 crutches down to one crutch in a couple of weeks. i've got faith, it will all happen quickly for me.

not sure what the price of gas is here. i have a church lady that is taking me out for the doc and rehab times. i give her money for gas.
she wouldn't take money on friday as she said her tank is full still when i gave her gas money on tuesday/doc appt.
just goes to show, i'm not out much and haven't been reading much of anything this week.

have fun at the party. be sure to party hardy....
if the headache is really getting bad, bang your foot against the door until it throbs. i bet you will forget about that headache in no time.
sorry about the foot though, thought it might take your mind off your head..:rotfl:

Slo, i love the movie Fargo! i don't know many people that do know about that movie.
the coat....hahahahha, how could anyone forget it.
Cabellas is the store to go to for things like that!!
mr mac always shops there. either in the store or on line.
great deals they have and great stuff. we like it much better than Bass Pro Shop/Outdoor World and can't think of the other one that is in kenosha near us.
you'll love that coat. i know you will.

now i waved at Donna yesterday.
well, i waved back at the tv to anyone that was waving......so i think that counts for something. beautiful parade as always.

i haven't seen that movie, did it stink that bad?
the list of stars in it would make you think it was a good movie.
i have been watching forensic files, mission road, body of evidence a lot.
when i started watching the reruns of it on my second week at home, i switched to the history channel. a few movies i watched on tv must not have been outstanding as i can not remember the names of any of them..

and that's all i know this morning..:hippie:

good sunday morning chicagoland homies.

Hi to all-
quick fly by...

Mac- I went to church last night, so you and everyone are covered for the week :thumbsup2

Donna and anyone else that went to the Festival of Lights, hope you all had a great time
I'm not one to stay out in the cold more than a half hour. Brrr!
Waiting in the cold with my kids at the bus stop is long enough
for me.

Have a good day everyone :)

Howdy!

We were freezing at the zoo yesterday!!! Brrr!!! The young polar bear had a great time though. He dove into his cold pool so many times, even off of the highest rock ledge. He gave a great performance!! Too cute!
And we were home by 12:30pm.

Went to the Promenade in Bolingbrook tonight and watched their symphony light show. It's a synchronized light show with a huge Christmas tree and other lights on the store fronts that plays with Trans Siberian Orch. Great fun!! Everyone should go see this!! Had dinner at Go Roma too, that was very good.

slo I hope your new coat keeps you warm. I haven't seen the movie Fargo in a really long time. :) Hope you got your tree up and all decorated!

Hersey Hope your headache went away in time for the party. I get a lot of sinus headaches this time of year. Hate 'em!!! :headache:

Donna We missed seeing the parade on tv! Hope you had a great time and didn't freeze...too much. ;)

mac Hope you're off those crutches soon!! That is great that someone from your church is driving you to your appts. :)

TTFN!! :tigger:

Yesterday was a total success!!!!!
*I got my upstairs tree up, and the upstairs all decorated + I set the Thanksgiving table (we eat on dining room table, which is something we only use on holidays and special occassions).
*I did several loads of laundry
*Kevin got all the Christmas lights on the house and the trees + did alot of other things outside.
*We got all the empty Christmas boxes back into the attic

We got alot done, and I felt so good when I went to bed last night!!!!!:)

I saw my first deer being butchered yesterday:scared:
Katie comes home and says, "Mommy, Mr. Rob is cutting up a deer." I said, "Really, did you see it?" She said, "Yes, it's hanging in the garage and he's cutting it." I said, "Okay, that's nice." and she went about her way. I wasn't thrilled about her seeing that at 5 years old, but she wasn't making a big deal about it, so I didn't make a big deal about it. I knew he got a big deer the other day, and it was hanging and draining in the garage. So later, I walked over there, because I knew Kevin was over there, and as soon as I got to the garage, I saw it - it was NASTY!!!!! Rob says to me, "Sandy, you may not want to see this." I said, "No, I'm actually curious on what you are doing." So he was cutting away at this thing, his friends were helping, and Kevin was watching. Rob says to me, "I'm sorry Katie saw this, but we were working on it, and she came around the corner, because she left something in the garage. As soon as I saw here, I told her she can't see this and to go home." (Katie plays with his DD). I said, "That's okay, she didn't seem to care." As we are talking he's still cutting - NASTY!!!!:scared: But, he's very good at doing this, and I was very impressed!!! He then takes the meat, and runs it through a grinder, to make ground venisen (sp?). Now I will never look at another deer again, after seeing what it's insides look like:scared: This time of year, we have deer by our house everyday. So, that was my new experience yesterday.

Mac - Fargo is a movie that had to really grow on me. I didn't like it at first, and then I saw it again, and started to like it, and now I really really like it alot!!!! That scene with the woodchipper always makes me :scared:  :scared1:
**I do love the coat - I am very pleased with my purchase. The hood is the best - it keeps me nice and toasty warm!!:goodvibes
**Yes, the movie was that bad - I still can't believe that someone like Ben Stiller would agree to make something so bad. It's been a really long time since Kevin and I turned off a movie because we hated it that much.

Rose - Yes, standing outside with Stephanie this time of year is really :cold:

Bunchkin - How cute about the polar bear:goodvibes Sounds like you had a good weekend, even though you were cold on Saturday :cold: How are you feeling?

Well, I gotta run and do alot of stuff around the house this morning. I need to fold and put away all that laundry I washed yesterday. I also haven't dusted around here in forever:confused3

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Sorry I've been kind of MIA lately! I've been pretty busy between Williams-Sonoma and my full-time job! I'm in charge of the sweet potatoes and pie this year for Thanksgiving! I went to the grocery store on Friday night so I could get my cranberries before they were all gone! I make a mean cranberry apple pie if I do say so myself! Then I worked 17hours this weekend at W-S. I also got a few more xmas gifts this weekend. So all I have left is my dad, sisters, mike and his parents... oh and gram! This is the most I've ever done before Thanksgiving!

Slo ~ I'm sorry you had to see that poor deer getting all cut up! Good thing Katie didn't freak out! At her age I probably went running home crying! Also, glad to hear you had a productive day decorating!:thumbsup2

Bunchkin ~ glad to hear you had a nice time at the light show! Sorry the weather wasn't a tad warmer for your trip to the zoo!

Mac ~ good luck with physical therapy. i'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Hersey ~ where are you again? our gas in Tinley is 1.94! I was so excited to see that! :cool1: woohoo!

Donna ~ hope you had a wonderful time at the lights festival!

ID, Rose, ADisneyFamily, DMM, and Everyone else ~ :wave2:

Have a wonderful day! :flower3:

Hi all!!!

Lazy day/laundry day here with the kids off of school.
Tomorrow is parent/teacher conf. for me.

I forgot to add that I got gas by me in New Lenox for $1.69 yesterday!! :)
Maybe you all saw on the local news last week how there was this gas price war going on in New Lenox. It was funny to see the helicopter tv shots of the gas stations.

slo Wow you did a lot yesterday!! I got tired just reading about it!! :goodvibes
I forgot to say that Tony and I actually went to go see that movie Tropic Thunder back in Sept, and we thought it was AWFUL!!! Lots of kids were laughing but not the adults! The only part I found slightly funny was at the end when Tom Cruise was dancing. And I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, so that's not saying much about that movie!

disneygal You must be bushed from all that working!! I have only bought presents for my kids so far. Everyone else gets gift cards anyway.
We started buying the kids gifts last month. One of the first things we bought for them was a Wii and a bunch of games for it in back in Oct, before there is a mad rush for them and they're out of stock.

Hi, Chicago friends!

We had a really nice time at the Lights Festival. We didn't quite turn into the ice cubes I thought we would, it was actually a bit warmer in the city (warm, of course, being a relative term..you know, 30 degrees IS warmer than 20 degrees!) :) We don't just do the parade, we go down for the whole weekend, so we spent Saturday at the Festival Lane and then we looked at the decor in the various hotels. We also went to the Signature Room at the John Hancock Building for lunch on Saturday. It was a pretty clear day so we had a good view from the 95th floor. We also saw the enormous Christmas train display they have set up there, truly amazing. We went to the Knickerbocker Hotel, where Dickens carolers were singing, and they had complimentary warm cider and cookies, and then across the street to the Drake Hotel to see their gorgeous Christmas tree, and the small village train display set up there. The festival itself was beautiful, Mickey Mouse magically lit the trees on Michigan Avenue (I just LOVE seeing that!). Michigan Avenue looks so gorgeous when all the tiny white lights are lit, I love it at night! <and I tried to wave to everyone that was watching on the sofa, did you all see me??>:happytv: On Sunday, we went and saw the window display at Macy's. Uh..not a clue what that was supposed to be about??? :confused3 Then, we went and looked at the Christmas tree they have set up in the Walnut Room there; that is one HUGE tree! And, it's very RED. Then, we went to Water Tower to Mark's fav lunch place (Food Life), and then did some shopping, including checking out the new American Girl store at Water Tower. It's much larger, and seemed much less crowded than their old location. We took the train home late Sunday, and this morning, I was exhausted when I got up for work....but we really had a good time, and it helps to start the holiday season for us!

Hope everyone has a good evening...and I hope this long post doesn't get misplaced like my last one did...

Shout out to ALL!!!
