I am just loving this hot hot hot weather!!!! :sunny:
My flowers are just exploding with color - they really needed this sun and heat :flower:
I'm so bummed that it's going to rain this weekend:umbrella:, but I guess we need it. The only benefit for me, that it's going to rain, is that it forces me to stay indoors and get stuff done. With this awesome hot weather, I"m outside all the time, and therefore, I've been neglecting my housecleaning. Oh well, the house is getting that dirty either, because we are never in it to dirty it - so it's all good!!!!;)

DG - That's so nice that your dad was able to take you home:goodvibes I'm glad the retreat wasn't so bad for you. But don't you hate it when you have 5 million things to make up because you weren't there?!

twinsmom - I'm so glad you came back and posted when you are going to be in town. I hope you have an awesome trip, and I can hardly wait to hear about all the things you did. Have a safe, wonderful trip!!!!:cool1:

Bunchkin - Happy Birthday to Hunter!!!! :cake:
I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend at the AG Sale, and celebrating the sweet little guys birthday:)
**When it comes to my employee, I'm just hoping that Jewel gives her everything they are promising her. I really like this girl, and I would hate to hear that they screwed her over just to get there way. Plus, I've heard from many that these large grocery stores are not good to work for - they don't treat you very nice:sad2: This is why I told her that she's always welcome to come back, and the door is always open for her.

ID - I wish Stephanie would go to a camp, because I think she would have an awesome time!!! But she won't go, because she has to spend the night, and she said she'll miss me to much. I wish I knew a little girl she could go with, because I think she would have more fun with a friend.
**Happy belated birthday to you!!!!! :cake:
What are you doing this weekend to celebrate???

Mac - Having a sticky keyboard stinks!!!! Are you going to clean it or replace it??

Well, I gotta go work out, and get to work
Have a good day today everyone!!

Good Friday Morning Everyone! :flower3: came in to work super early today to finish a project my boss gave me. I got downtown at 7:03am... it was so nice not having people push me around getting off the train and and trying to cross streets. so I just finished the project and put it in her inbox... hopefully, i won't need to make too many changes! We are leaving early tomorrow for another wedding (this one in Cedar Rapids). It starts at 2 so we are just wearing are dress clothes in the car. I'm excited! Well, I must go do some other work! hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!! :goodvibes

Bunchkin Sorry I missed you tell Hunter Happy birthday from Alex and I

Mac Sorry you keyboard is all sticky I'm always spilling stuff on mine.

SloHow is your Mom doing? I hope your employee doesn't get overworked at Jewel. A lot of places tell them yah ok only so many hours per week then pressure them into working alot more

Just a quick update that DD's appt. was not what we had hoped for.

She will be facing surgery in Feb. (at least that is the estimated time).

The good news is she is totally done with her brace as there is no point now to continue.

We do go back in December, so it's *possible* she won't need the surgery but it's a more likely than not proposition.

She will end up getting tutoring because she will be out of school for at least 4 weeks and I don't know exactly everything. Once school starts I need to go talk with them to get things rolling to be set-up by Feb.

Good soggy morning!

Becky How is your daughter doing with her surgery news? It is better to do it now rather than later.

I hope this is not an all day rain. I wanted to go to the farmers market this morning. I have yardwork to do too.

I got a crazy surprise when I came home yesterday - a puppy!!!! :dog:

I've been talking about how much I wanted a Yorkie someday, for awhile now, and Kevin got in touch with a breeder, and here she is. She's tiny, tiny, tiny - 3lbs, and she won't get any heavier than 5lbs. We named her Sophie, and she is so cute!!!!:goodvibes I will take a picture and post it soon. She is going to start going to work with me on Monday, and she will be with me all the time!! We even took her to my mom's house yesterday to celebrate my brothers birthday. She was a very good girl last night, and slept the whole night - I was proud of her!!! I put her little travel crate in our room, so she could be with us - I think it helped her be more relaxed and not feel alone. Tonight, we'll have to go to a pet store and buy some things for her. She needs toys and things to chew, because she now has only one toy from the breeder. I just gave her a toilet paper tube and she seems to be having fun with that. Our lives are about to change, but that's okay, she's going to be a wonderful addition to our lives:goodvibes :goodvibes

DG - Have fun at the wedding today :)

HERSEY - My mom is still hurting, but doing better - she looked great last night!!!! Thanks for asking!!!!:)
**I'm very worried about my employee not getting what she was promised. To them she's just a warm body, but I do care about her, and I don't want to see her get hurt.

Becky - I am so sorry that your DD needs surgery :guilty: I was really hoping to hear good news about her doctor visit. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers, because this can't be easy for her - poor thing

Well, I must go and get ready for work, so Kevin and the girls are going to be in puppy duty for awhile today. I hope they get her outside on time when she needs to go potty. None of them are used to watching a puppy, because I've always been the keeper of the puppy with the other dogs we've had. Oh well, I'm sure they'll do fine.

Have a good day!!!

Slo, congrats on the new puppy!!! My sister has a Yorkie. They are adorable!! Many new adventures await!!:goodvibes
Bunchkin, hope you are having an amazing good time at the AG sale and getting all sorts of good deals. Happy Birthday to Hunter!!!
ID hope you had a great birthday as well.:bday:
Becky, sorry your DD news wasn't what you were hoping to hear. :grouphug: Hopefully December will bring you a miracle.
CTD, thanks for the information on the DVC 1 year anniv. special. I was working the weekend they held that last year. This year I am off and may need to go check it out.:thumbsup2
Woke up this morning to see our pool has sprung a leak. The filter isn't working and the water is leaking out around the seals. Guess I will need to run out and get a new filter quick like or my back yard will be a swimming pool!!:scared1:
Well, I had better get a move on. The kids want to go to Build-A-Bear. They are hard at work right now cleaning their rooms and sweeping and dusting a bit to earn a little money.:rolleyes1
Have a great day all!!

Morning guys! What a grey day, at least it was good for sleeping in ;) .

We are having a family portrait today for our parish directory so this will be quick as I have to get everyone in and out of the shower.

ChiTownDISer - thanks for the info! It'll be hard for me to convince DH to go as the last one cost us $$$$$$ as we did an AKV add-on. No money for that this year but want to go just for the bit of Disney...:rolleyes1

slo - congrats on the puppy! She sounds too cute!
*Glad to hear your mom is doing better.

Becky - sorry to hear the news. I was thinking of you just about a week ago when I had my kids in for their annual physicals and the MD checked their backs. I hope things will work out in the end for your DD.

mac - hope you get your keyboard fixed, I know how that feels I have sticky fingered kids that use my laptop!
*Found out there is a launch from Kennedy Space Ctr targeted for Oct 8.
**How do your Oct flights look? Mine have changed a bit again but only by a couple of minutes. There are no seat assignments for one of them now so I'm going to call and check on that. FIL went to ORD today for a United flt to Philly only to find it was cancelled :scared: . Poor guy is missing his family reunion because they couldn't get him on another flt until after 1p which wouldn't have gotten in until 5p, the party would be nearly over by then.

Well, I just heard the shower go off so it's time to get someone else in there. Hope everyone has a great weekend! :flower3:

i here ya Irish, but they're giving away trips, and Mickey will be there, so i thought it'd be fun to share. i'm gonna grab my niece and nephew and some neighbors to go. we're registered for saturday.

happy bday hunter....did you save me some cake? :bday: :cake:

irish dancer..........i cleaned the keyboard and it sticks even more.

just note it took me a good 5 minutes trying to type this short post.

going to church in the morning, will have your backs covered.

Kim A while back I was looking to buy my tickets to the American Girl Benefit Sale on Ebay, and in the search results I saw you selling your Cubs tickets....so I thought you weren't going to go!! I should have emailed you and asked you about it but I totally forgot to!!! It would have been great to see you there!!! Rats!!
Long story short, some of my tickets that I got right away were for upper deck, as were the tics for Mother's Day. My height anxiety kicked in, big time, and I couldn't sit up there. :guilty: EVER AGAIN! I sold 2 games so far, and re-buying lower level tics. ridiculous, I know. :sad2:

i don't like the high up seats either.

last saturday, i went to milwaukee for a brewer game.
good stadium.

it is much easier and quicker for me to go to a brewers game than a cubs game.

i wonder if sophie is asleep now?

Wow, we had some super storms last night
Needless to say, the girls ended up on my floor in my room. So the whole family, including Miss Sophie :dog: was in there. Luckily, everyone went back to sleep:)

Sophie had a good day yesterday, and she is getting alot more comfortable with us. We took her to the pet store yesterday, and got her some treats, and some very small puppy toys. I kept her up pretty late last night, and then she slept all night again last night. She whined a pinch when the girls were coming in our room last night, but I ignored her, and she went back to sleep. She is a spitfire of energy this morning - YIKES!!!! This is the first time I've seen her this way - it's kinda nice, because I know she's even more comfortable with us.:goodvibes

Today I'm coming to all of you asking for some advice and prayers for a friend. She has recently found out that she needs to see an oncologist and a bone surgeon, and she has asked me to ask you all some questions (she knows how I post here, and see some of you on a personal basis). Her questions are.....
1.) She was recommended to see 1 of 2 certain oncologists. One is in Hyde Park, which is University of Chicago, and the other is at Rush downtown. She is asking if any of you know which is a better hospital for cancer treatment.
2.) Do any of you know of a doctor, in the field of bone surgery, that any of you prefer, or know of anyone that prefers one.
If any of you can help me with this, that would be great. I gave her the link to our thread, and told her to check on it regularly, to see what people know. Thank you for your time posting what you know, and if you could keep her in your thoughts and prayers, I would really appreciate it, and I know she would too.

ChiTown - Thanks for the info!!!!!:goodvibes

Tigggerrnnnnn - Thanks for the congrats on Sophie!! :goodvibes
**What bear did Kellie and Kyle get at Build-A-Bear?

ID - Thanks for the congrats on Sophie!!! :goodvibes
**How did the family photo go? I'm sure it turned out great!!!! :thumbsup2

Mac - What a bummer about your keyboard:guilty: I have a calculator at work that sticks - really bugs me!!!!!:headache:
**When you posted, Sophie was asleep ::yes:: In fact, she fell asleep on my lap last night when I was keeping her up late. I dozed off too, and when I woke up she was laying on her back with her belly all sticking out - it was so cute!!!!!:goodvibes

Kim - I"m sorry you couldn't use the tickets:guilty: Everybody has issues - you should never be embarrassed :sad2:

Well, I gotta go feed Sophie, and then go to work - I have tons and tons and tons of work to do today. Have a good day everyone!!

Morning all.
Lots of rain and thunder last night. I was shocked that I had no little visitors.:cool1:
Slo, I don't know enough about either hospital to say if one is better than the other for cancer treatment. My dad was at University of Chicago for leukemia and they treated us well. But I don't know about bone cancer. I will keep your friend in my thoughts and prayers.
Kellie got the Scruffy Puppy and Kyle got the Husky puppy. They were using their own money so they were limited by how much they had.:thumbsup2 Kyle hadn't spent as much at DL as Kellie had, so he was able to get the more expensive puppy. I tried getting them online with the BuildABear Ville this morning, but they are slow responding to the registration.
Mac, time to buy a new keyboard I'm thinkin'. Thanks for having our backs this morning. Too many baths needed here to make it out the door on time.
Bunchkin, we will be out your way today. Headed to a JackHammers game tonight. Hope you scored some good stuff at the AG sale.
Oh, bought the new van yesterday!!!:woohoo: They have to locate the color I wanted, so we will pick it up this week. Got a pretty good deal-better price than when we were looking 2 months ago and they offerred more for our van than the quote we got last time as well.:thumbsup2 We bought a Honda Odyssey in Slate Green. I think I will want to wait until after I take my mom's friend back to the airport Wednesday to pick it up, though. It would be just my luck to get the car and then have an accident in it the first day driving to O'Hare.
Well, I had better get moving. Lots of :laundy: to do today. DH is headed out to get groceries for us. I hate that job.:rolleyes1
Later all.

yes, i had your backs today. went to church and all the homies here are covered for the week.

speaking of week, it is that time again to find out what's on the tube for disney this week:

:surfweb:

I worked alot yesterday, because I have alot of work to do there.
It's nice working when I'm closed, because I'm able to get a lot done, without anyone bugging me or phone ringing. Sophie goes to work with me today, so we'll see how that goes. Kevin got her a cage, and set it up there. We also got her doggie litter, but I don't think it's going to work for awhile. We put the litter box where she is here at home, and I heard her gagging on the litter  so I took it away. She's very comfortable going potty outside (she still has accidents in the house), but I can't ever let her go outside alone, and the thought of going out with her everyday, for the rest of her life, doesn't do much for me :sad2: In the winter, we are going to have to draw straws on who goes out with her, and when :thumbsup2

Poor Stephanie cut her foot open really bad yesterday while riding her bike - there was blood everywhere!!!!! I had to hose down the front porch in order to get rid of it, and there's still some stains. Thank goodness Kevin is an EMT, and that he knew what to do, or we would be going to the hospital. So last night she had to sit with her foot elevated and with ice on it - she wasn't happy. But I told her that I've warned her several times to NOT play outside with flip-flops, and she always thinks I'm square, but not anymore. She says that she learned her lesson (I hope so:rolleyes: )

Tigggggggern - Thank you for your advice and your nice thoughts for my friend. I will relay what you said to her :)
**Congrats on the new van!!! New cars are always so much fun:yay:

mac - thanks for the listings!!!!

Well, I gotta run and workout inside today - I'm not sure if Sophie is ready for me to leave her yet first thing in the morning. Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good Monday morning, all! we had major storms here early this morning. Our dog was wandering around whining, but amazingly there wasn't a peep from the dcs! They are still sleeping! They were with their dad this weekend and we went up to visit family in the 'burbs. We had to go to a suprise 30th for my dsis (says she wasn't suprised!). We also did some shopping- I hit the Disney store in both Louis Joliet and Orland! I got a couple of Ts for my upcoming trip and dh got me a Wall E and an Eve plushes for my car! He's a keeper!:thumbsup2 Going to the Disney store got me even more excited for my honeymoon- not many more days on the ticker! Woo!
slo- Congrats on the pup! Can't wait for pics! We want to ge ta Sheltie pup, but expenses keep coming up! Now it is too close to the hmoon- maybe in fall.

Darn...here the pitter patter of little feet upstairs. Gotta' get them ready and then get myself ready for work. Later!:flower3:

Slo ~ Looking forward to puppy pictures!
~ Sorry to hear Stephanie cut her foot. I too am always warning Lauren about running and riding her bike with flip flops on.

Lauren is pretty sick right now. High fever with all sorts of aches and pains everywhere. Took her to immediate care yesterday, rapid strept was negative but he thinks the culture will be positive. Dewain called later (when her fever went to 104) and also asked about West Nile. The doctor was kinda rude in his "no way" response, but her symptoms do match. Kevin has a check up today, and I will ask our pede about it. I have no problem with the doctor not thinking it could be West Nile, but give us a reason why he thinks that.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: The wedding was beautiful! However, as we were leaving the reception we got caught by a nasty storm. luckily, someone let us borrow his umbrella so mike could go get the car. i don't mind getting wet but i'm a big klutz and was wearing 3 inch heels, mike didn't want me to slip and fall b/c we were parked way out in no mans land. Oh, and when we got to the hotel it was all boarded up and under construction... we were like "what's going on?" then finally a guy in a truck showed up and told us that all the reservations from that hotel have been moved to another one across town b/c of flood damage. we were really confused b/c no one told us that when we made the reservation. anywho, we got to the hotel and everything was fine.

Slo ~ Congrats on the puppy!! I love dogs! sorry to hear about stephanie's foot. that had to hurt!

Piglet ~ I hope Lauren gets better quickly. :wizard: i would definitely ask the peditrician what they think... a 104 fever seems way too high to just brush off any possibility without double checking.

mac ~ thanks for the listings! :cool1:

everyone else ~ :wave2: have a good day!
