Calling all AKLers

Yahoo! I talked Lucy"s dad (this is Lucy's mom) into tacking on two nights at AKL after we visit with my parents for a week, after we spend 10 days at the Poly. I guess a week with Mom and Dad was the inspiration for an additional vacation! So, we want a grrreat view of the animals from our room and are interested in that special sahvanna tour for guests in the morning. Does anyone have any ideas for what reservation we should make? We're traveling with our 4 year old dd and 20 year old ds.

I can't help you with the answer to your question, however, I called AKL this morning and booked two nights stay also!!! Great minds must think alike.

I take it the special tour you are referring to is the Sunrise tour. If so then you will need to book a concierge room since this is only avaliable to those guests staying in that location.

The sunrise safari is only available to concierge guests. Here is a map to give you an idea of where the rooms are located:

Personal recommendations: 3rd or 4th Floor (the Lobby is on the third floor), Arusha Rock savannah, Zebra Trail. If you don't want a hike, request close to the Lobby. The outer rooms can be quite a distance.

Hi there...

We did the sunrise safari last year and it was great.

You need to be a concierge guests and it only goes on Tuesday and Saturday mornings - the rate now I believe is approx 50.00USD per adult and 25.00USD per child. This includes transfers to park, the safari and breakfast afterwards. You need to have admission to the park as well.

The concierge rooms are located on the secure 6th floor - but for a better view of the animals I recommend the 5th floor which is were we stayed for 9 nights. Concierge guests receive deluxe savanna view rooms in prime locations.
