Hi Guys

Well how are you all, I am feeling a little better after my cold but still have a very sore throat, which is amazing really as I had my tonsils removed when I was 21!!

Right I have now had time to catch up a little on the last few posts, so here we go:

Heather: Welcome aboard, lovley to have you join us, and by the way your daughter is absoultley adorable, I remember when my not so little girl was all smiles and cute as a button, she is now (as she tells me) "A drum playing, football loving, music mad, 14 year old teenager". But she's still my little girl to me lol.

Andy: My dear friend, I can not believe your retirement plans seem to be on hold again, have you managed to find out anymore information? Well lets just look forward to our holidays this August and our wonderful cruise August 2006, that will pass away 18 months stright away.Good luck in catching up with your meter books.

Dori: How are you, tell Devin HI right back to him from across the pond.

Darlene: Hope you are well, How is Stan?

Lyn:So glad that Matt is well, go ahead and have a good blubber at his graduation, thats what us mums are supposed to do. Dont forget to take plenty of pics for us to see.

Tina: How are you? Hope everything is ok. Look forward to speaking to you soon, Vicki loved the photos by the way, thanks for the email.

Hope all my other friends are well, Doreen,Karen,Terry,Joanna,Bobby,Ginny,Diane,Bev and Lisa and of course anybody elae I may have forgotten.

And last but not least, Mary Rose: How are you, hope you are lurking once in a while so you see we have not forgotten you, hope things have improved and the job hunting is going well. My best wishes to you always.

Speak soon,

Sue

I talked to the personnel director this afternoon and she read the township ordinance to me out of the ordinance book word for word. It states that an employee must have 20 years service "AND" attain the age of 55 to have all health benefits paid for by the township upon retirement. She did tell me not to get my hopes up, but she is going to try and see if I might be able to retire early and get my benefits paid for because of my medical condition, and the fact that in May I will have 26 years service in with the township. I'm not giving up all hope just yet. Just thought I'd share this news with you. The personnel director said she will get in touch with me once she knows something for sure. Keep those good thoughts and prayers going upward!!!

Sue--I hope you feel better real soon!!!!!

Andy

Andy: I am keeping everything crossed for you, good luck, keep us posted.

By the way I celebrate 25 years service with my company this year, but as it stands at the moment I can still see me working there for another 22.

For 25 years service with my company I can have a party or Dinner for up to 50 collegues and I can select a piece of jewellery to the value of £500($900) approx. Not sure what to go for yet, but my boss has asked me "would I like holiday vouchers instead of jewellery" as she knows I am not much of a jewel fan and that I love my holidays. What do you think I should go for, I am very excited about this. I do love my holidays, but will I regret not having a momento of my 25 years.

Any thoughts ?

Sue

If it was me............I'd take the holiday vouchers, as I could share the holiday time with my family.

Oh boy! Can I sympathize with that one! I had my tonsils out during Christmas break my senior year of high school. (After 10 cases of tonsilitis and strep throat in two years.) I remember that ice cream and popsicles helped a lot when the throat was really sore. However, may I recommend a picher of smoothies instead? Even if it doesn't make the sore throat go away, you won't care. :rotfl:

SUE
IMHO TAKE THE HOLIDAY VOUCHERS!
Jewelry will sit inanimatedly (is that a word?) in your jewelry box but the holiday will live forever in the hearts and minds of you and your family.

Just my humble opinion. Congratulations on your 25th anniversary!

Darlene

Andy, my friend, do not give up hope.

The governing body can make an exception to its own rules. It helps if they LIKE you. Hope Personnel can make some headway for you. Let us know how it is going.

I did hear that there were some exceptions made in the past, I'm hoping I'm one of the exceptions in the near future!!!

If truth be told...

If your knees don't hold up, then they will have the choice of giving you the early retirement or putting you on disability until you are eligible for retirement. (It kinda works out to the same thing, doesn't it?)

Actually, if I went out on ordinary disability pension, I won't get as much $$ as if I went out on early retirement because of the number of years service I have in. The disability pension would come out to 40% of my current income, where my early retirement comes out to nearly 50% of my current income. The difference is about $200.00 a month.

Andy - Question - If they ended up putting you on disability, would that be the level you would stay at forever, or would it only be for a couple of years until you were eligible for retirement? (It's nice to know this kind of stuff for future reference.)

By the way, I keep trying to send you guys some of our weather, but it doesn't seem to be working and it just keeps getting warmer here. Today were reached the low 60s.

Dori :sunny:

Dori, sorry to hear about your warm weather  , we made it up to 24 f today :rotfl: It was sunny :sunny: though

Yes, if I went out on disability, I would stay on that forever, there is no changing once I sign up. We are expecting 5-8 inches of snow starting Thursday morning, I would love for it to be 60 degrees!!!

Andy - Man! That stinks! Thanks for the warning, since I have some health problems of my own. (It's nice to know!)

I'll keep trying to send the weather east. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Dori, I'm sure each company does things differently, it just so happens this is how it would work out for me. That's why I have to be very careful with making my selection how I want to retire.

As I said on the other board a few minutes ago Ed, "WELCOME ABOARD to the CRUISIN' CASTAWAYS CRUISE!!!" :cool1:

Looking forward to meeting you in August 2006!!! :cool1:

It looks as though you will be checking out of the Fort Wilderness Cabins as we are checking in the Fort Wilderness Cabins this August.

Andy

Andy,

Thank you, your partially responsible for us being on board.
Thanks for pointing out, my ex agent was wrong, when they said this cruise as sold out.

I forgot to mention in my last email, we have the 6 pm seating for dinner.

Oh for those who are trying to figure out why your counters are wrong,
The DIS Board has announced they have disabled the html code. You will need to use a differant source for your counters.

Thanks Ed, I was wondering what was going on with my countdown clocks, mine will have to wait until tomorrow to get fixed, I'm off to bed.

It is supposed to start snowing here between 8-10am on Thursday, and dumping 4-8 inches on us before it ends. Come on Spring!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say HI EVERYONE, including the new people! :wave2:

Just got back from NJ last night (had the BEST time being with my sister, niece, and my dad :sunny: ) , had a million things to do today, and I am probably quitting my job tomorrow. (In a nutshell: You probably remember, I work 1 day a week for our accountant, out of her home, and it's a long story, but I just can't work there anymore. Her live-in boyfriend is a drug addict and is wanted by the police, and I fear for my safety with him there :worried: , so I am quitting).

The kids are off of school all this week. Craig's been using his car a LOT during this past week, which is his first week on the road! LOL :moped:

Anyway, I hope you're all doing OK. I sincerely apologise for not writing any personal messages right now, but I definitely will as soon as I get the chance! Hugs to all of you! :grouphug:
