Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 3

Now that the dates and rates have been released for 2009, is anyone considering cruising DCL then?? I don't know what our plans are, but I'd love to do another August cruise!

Yep, Hazel and I will be sailing on the 10/24/09 Eastern. This date is also our 34th Wedding Anniversary.........

We booked a SPH cabin and will be sailing with a bunch of DIS'ers that just sailed on 10/20/07, they call themselves the Konked Kruisers. They tried to get us to sail with them this past October, but with Angelina starting her senior year of high school it just wasn't possible.

One of the KK's booked us a cabin when they sailed in October, so we were able to get the 10% discount and the $200.00 onboard credit. The total for Hazel and I came to just over $1941. Angelina is still undecided if she wants to sail with us, especially with it being our anniversary celebration cruise................

I'm cruising july 13th in 2008 and now after talking with my dad we are planning on booking a cruise tomorrow for a eastern that goes to st. maarten in march of 2009 I'll be 21 march 11th and it would leave on the 14th. Haha maybe I can talk him into going to st croix in december of 2009 too, who knows. Now he just has to remind me not to tell my aunt we are going on a eastern cruise. Now I've lost count how many years in a row I went dcl haha lets see once when I was 17, once when I was 18, once, when I was 19, and in july when I am 20. so about 4 years, god I need to cut back on cruising or I'm going broke. Maybe I should have just stuck to seeing the spice girls reunion tour this year instead of cruising. haha no, I think I might need help if I missed a year

We are transferring our Repo reservations over as it appears that getting two weeks in a row off for the Repo will be next to impossible.

Hey MR! So sorry to hear you are cancelling the repo! It won't be the same without you! Lots of people been asking about you over on the repo thread. You are missed!

We're looking at doing a Bermuda cruise in 2009 so looks like it's going to be NCL or RCCL. We'll see what DCL plans with the new ships, i.e itinerary, price, etc. Would be nice if we could all do another one together!

Oh yea, it's a joy, plus the ST is working, not one, but two part-times at the moment. That won't be lasting long though, after Christmas she needs to give one of the jobs up.

I would love for all of us to have a reunion cruise at some point. And I know the 8/29/07 is late, hopefully it's not too late for us too...only time will tell lol!
And it's ok about the Repo, I knew going in that getting two weeks off was iffy. I am in payroll and we pay bi-weekly, hence the dilemma you see. Have fun your cruise and hopefully we'll all sail together some day again!

Howdy Diane!!!!! Yeah it's stinks about the Repo. Truth be told me and John spent the last few months deciding between a $10,000 cruise or paying for a year at Rutgers!!! In the cold light of day you can kinda see that cancelling is a no-brainer. I knew college expenses would make things tight, but it's those unknown, unplanned college expenses that really catch you off guard. I will pop over to the Repo thread to say hi and let everyone know of our decision. Believe me it was a difficult one, so we feel that the 2009 is a least a happy compromise. I do hope we can cruise together someday though pal!

Aug 15th 2009 for us too , just switched off of the Mexican Rivera cruise,
Saved some money by booking early for a change.

I'll admit I'm still toying with the idea of switching to the 8/15 cruise to Tortola as I think that will be a neat island to visit.

But the reality is that 8/22 just works better for us.

Those Mex Riviera cruises were just so expensive. It will be interesting to see if others switch from summer of '08 to summer of '09.

Oh, that's fantastic news. 2009 is shaping up to be a great cruising year.

Funny story....our dishwasher completely broke down on the morning of Christmas Eve. Total shutdown. Thank goodness we only had my mom with us for Christmas so not too many dishes to wash by hand.

We left for Vermont on the 26th for five nights and I was never so happy to see a working dishwasher in our condo. You forget what a luxury a working dishwasher is.

The snow was plentiful in Vermont and we had a magical time.
