Hi Terry...very sorry to hear about your friend. Sending you lots of I hope your son gets back on track at the community college and moves forward to finishing at the 4 year college later. Anything is possible. At least he wants to go to school. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Not sure about cruises? Too far out. Still waiting to see about '08. In '09, DH and DS are suppose to be doing the big scout trip, which leaves me and DD to go wherever. I know DS would be bummed. I am thinking about RCCL's Freedom of the Seas or Liberty of the Seas (?) that is coming out this year for future cruises too. I just can't decide which islands I want to go to. I would really miss Castaway Cay the most compared to RCCl's private island. Who knows?

I don't know if anyone else saw this on TV or not the other night....... I was channel surfing and came across "Deal or No Deal." What caught my eye was the player and her 3 member support group were all wearing DIS GREEN shirts! I didn't catch the begining part to see why they were all wearing that color but I was wondering if they were any part of the DIS boards? She did win an expensive car that was Dis Green too. I just thought this was weird and too funny. Of course, it make me think of all of you. I need a little Disney Magic in my life...............

I did see that one & she just said it was her favorite color but nothing about the Dis boards. I believe that was the one where they offered her a lime green hummer....her dream come true??? That was a fun one!

Thanks everyone, for the warm thoughts at this sad time, I truly appreciate it.

Good update regarding DS18: He got himself up early this morning and drove to his former high school and the state college and requested his transcripts, then drove over to the community college and filled out the paperwork to begin registration there. He apparently really does want to continue on with college there, and his actions today show us this. There was no way we were going to help him with this; we figured that his own actions would determine what happens next. Shirley, you're right; he can get an Associate's degree at the community college then continue on for his Bachelor's degree at the state college. This is what he's planning on doing. I guess I was just kind of surprised last night when he told us all this. For being an almost-19 year old guy, he really is a good kid, and is very responsible. He's been at the same job for over 2 years now, and just got another merit raise. He owns his own vehicle, pays for his own gas and insurance. He's never out late at night, he always calls to let us know where he is, and where he's going, etc.

So anyway, just realized this evening that today is my 6 year DIS Boards Anniversary. LOL

Happy Anniversary Terry.
Glad to hear the DS is moving forward. He is a polite, kind, and very respectful young man. It was a pleasure meeting him and cruising this summer. He is showing alot of responsibility, as some would just blow it off or wait for Mommy and Daddy to take care of things.
We finally got some snow on Wednesday, the ride to work was harried, but the sun came out later. Now the weatherman and the newspapers are telling us that this weather pattern is identical to the patterns of '65 and '90, where we got socked in January of '66 and '91, and conditions are favorable for a good blizzard next week. So maybe there is hope yet that my office will have to extend the MLK, JR. holiday weekend.
DS returns to school on Monday, and while I love him and so enjoy him home, hubby and I have gotten into a routine, and what a difference having another person in the house. Mealtimes, music, young people over and and him going out as I am going to bed. I remember doing that! But it is his final semester and I will of course miss him.

Congrats on your DIS 6 year anniversary Terry!!!! I have my DIS 4 year anniversary coming up on January 24th, it's hard to believe it's been that long already.

Good report to hear about your son!!! Speaking of kids, I've got to get my girl up so she can start getting ready for school. At least we have a nice three day weekend coming up!!!

We're really hoping to be able to do the Panama Canal cruise in August 2008 now that we know the ship will be returning to Florida on August 30th!!! We just have to wait until next Wednesday to see if DCL release the prices, then we can book on the 31st.

Gotta get back to work, but just did some shopping on Disneyshopping.com and got some great deals!!!! I got myelf four sets of sleepwear (Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Grumpy) and found matching slippers to go with the sleepwear!!! Also got Hazel and Angelina some sleepwear as well. I guess I started my Christmas shopping for this coming year early, LOL!!! Not to mention, I got $20.00 off my order, which pays for the shipping!!! Now, I've got to get back to work to pay for this stuff. Terry, I'm impressed with your son. That shows tremendous initiative for him to do those things himself. Sounds like thing are going to work out just fine.

We've got 34 degrees and light rain - I hate that. Cold and damp. Yes, I, too read about how this winter is mimicking other winters that had very harsh February-March periods. Normally we spend all of MLK weekend skiing but we'll just do one day. The ski resorts in PA were able to blow a lot of snow over the past few days and are re-opening.

Wow - you guys have been with DIS for a long time. I only found out about it in the summer of 2004.

Andy - good luck with the repo booking. I think Jeff is interested, too. We'll just have to post simultaneous "live" reports with you on the repo cruise and me on the Wonder (whereever that will be).

Wow that's the first I've heard this news. I guess I should be keeping up with the DCL threads but I thought it wasn't till Weds. that they would release the dates! I gotta go check this out!

Okay I read some threads & I see that it hasn't been "officially" announced but figured out by some real detective work. What I can't figure out is why everyone is sure reservations can be made on the 31st? I must have missed that posting.

I'm still working totally ugly hours. (They even cancelled my week off at Christmas.)

Other than turning the latest virus into sinus infections, Devin and I are doing well.

Thanks Ed!! We are planning on doing the Eastbound Repo and I hope others in our group can do the same.

Someone how 83 weeks doesn't seem that long. It is always good to have something to look forward to.

I think I will book it and then wait and see, st least I'll be booked.

Which TA is going to be the one booking quickly as soon as the rates come out. I mean not a second later, I'm talking, getting on the phone with DCL when they open and not hanging up until they book everyone.

Which one do you think will be the most on top of it?

Tough to say, but I am putting my faith in Chuck Maida and his crew at All Seasons Travel. I talked to Sandie and she already sent in a request for me to Inventory Control.

I'm hoping when the announcement is made this week, that they at least give some kind of idea at what the prices are going to be, that will determine if I call on the 31st to make a ressie or not. I would really like to do the eastbound repo, but I do have my limitations on what I am willing to spend. Of course, I could always book it, then should I feel uncomfortable about my decision later, I could cancel out. Will just have to wait and see.

At least my boss already knows that I would be asking for "X" amount of time off from work, so that is one hurdle out of the way!!!

Maybe I need to send Hazel back to work full-time to feed my Disney addiction!!!
