Terry - I loved it!!!

I also loved the new ride Soarin at Epcot!!!

I love Soarin' too! :thumbsup2 I love the scents that they pipe in to match what you're flying over (orange grove, the ocean, the pine forest, etc).

Ok, I have to get ready for work now. Have a great day everyone!! :sunny:

LYNN,... I loved looking at your pics.. I had to look at your other ones as well.. MATT looked so young at his prom... I loved all the pics of people sleeping,,hehe.. And you look great.. I am still so sorry we missed all of you.. Jaclyn would have loved to see MATT again..My fingers are crosssed that the court date will go through this time.. Please let me know...BOB..prayers are with you.. and if you win TRIPS for everyone for LOST AT SEA..lol :goodvibes

DENISE.. that would be good to do as well.. no kids. hmmm. Well after the first day of school.. I've got 3 cats and they would love to have a mouse running around the house. The only ones we see are dead.

Seaspray.....that's a very good question/concern about the pricing for cat 3s as the time gets closer to the cruise. It would seem unfair to be wait listed for a mid ship cat 3 for months and months then get the call right at 90 days out and then be "forced" to pay a higher price because the booking was so close to the sail date.

But on the other hand, DCL wants to give incentives for everyone to book early.

I would call your TA and have them pose that question to DCL.

I'd be curious about the answer.

So how did all the kids do on the first day of school? Daniel is VP of student council.. so he came home with so much info on the exchange students..
JACLYN loves her classes and found that they actually shortened the periods this yr.. She was upset since this is her "last first day" of school... So today she starts the sniffles and says in a fake tear voice.. this is my last second first day of school...lol I was laughing,. I asked her if she was going to keep this up all school yr... and she assured me she would loose count . :confused3 ( she make me laugh so much...) We watch Brother Bear 2 when they came home...We needed a lttle DISNEY.. :wizard:

MARY ROSE.. is Taryn a senior as well.. we will have some parties to go to this yr.. heck if I can do a 5 hr brunch drive...we can go graduation hoppin'---providing we get the addressses right..lol ( hint hint) love ya TERRY....

TINA.. please and I beg you PLEASE.. NO DONT SEND THE MICE my way... I am so so very sorry for you and truly empathize that you have unwantd house guests... I would be packed and out the door if I had that family again.. I had a family in my kitchen during the OJ Simpon ordeal and and the way I screamed my family thought maybe I saw him in my house.. I was making Sunday breakfest and reached to get my cooking oil that was then down under my cooking top.. I raised it up to measure it and a mouse was swimming inside a fairly new bottle of wesson.... It chewed the top of the oil..UGGGGHHHH.. I sceamed and ran to the couch and threw the blanket over my head.. my Ex husband took it outside.. I grabbed the kids and went to my grandparents for the day until he cleaned the kitchen out.. uyggggg... I love MICKEY AND MINNIE>> but not slimmy and long tailed,...lol :scared:

On our Cruise in 04.. HERMITE.. a waiter in the PARROT CAY dinning room put a plastic white mouse on my right shoulder and I screamed so loud... it stopped the people in their tracks..MELONIE was sitting behind us.. and had no clue what happened.. HERMITE.. never thought he would get that reaction..lol He too said what BEV said, " what are you afraid of a little mouse.. a little MICKEY MOUSE"?

DOREEN

Doreen...that is so funny.

Terry....we loved the new POC ride and Soaring. I agree with the new "water" screen in the beginning of POC is terrific. Wish I was there now.

As for the price of the cruise, I think that the price is based on when you first made a reservation. At least that's what I was told. I know when I was thinking of changing cabins the new price was nowhere near the current asking price. It was what the price was a year before.

Lainie....I loved your bathtub comment. :lmao: :lmao: The visuals that pop up in my head of trying to make that work made my day. I could see sitting in the tub and someone bringing me a drink while I look over the clear water. Just not the same.

We are in to our second week of school here. I've met all my children's teachers. I love some of Alex's teachers. They are beyond terrific. It's going to be a good year. We are still trying to find our groove with everything. Wednesday was the first day Alli was well rested and perky again.

As for me I am still going through all the Sept. meetings. Tonight I meet the parents of all my 3 year olds. Tomorrow I'll start pulling together the math class I will start teaching next Mon. at the local community college. Three hours a night of a subject that people hate is a long time to fill. After about 2 hours, they are clueless what I am saying. These are people that need remidal work before doing college level math classes. The people are interesting if anything.

I just hate that we can't tarvel in Sept. or Oct. anymore. C'est la vie.

Back to prep work......have a nice day all.

Another question: If we don't get called when the dates/rates open up for August 2008 and we end up booking the Cat 6 cabins, then say a year later we get the call (like what happened with you and the Cat 1), what rate do they offer you at that time? Would it be the lowest rate that was available on "opening day", or are they giving you the current rate that is out a year later?? Since they don't really publish the rates for the suites, does anyone really even know what the rates are at any given point?? Just some things I'm wondering, so we can plan accordingly! :)

It is supposed to be based on when you book and not current rates, but as you said there really isn't anyway to confirm that since DCL can't give you the rate on a stateroom unless it is available (or something like that).

The best I could do was to ask other DISers what they paid for the same time of year. I know some find that to be too personal a question, but I was pleasantly surprised that many were happy to share.

You could also call Chuck's crew and see if they have any insight on cost.

Speaking of "Mr. Mater" he should be on his way to the Wonder for the Southern Caribbean cruise. I know has last name is spelled Maida, but our family affectionately refers to him as "Mr. Mater". (I am sure you got the Cars reference).

I wish we were on the Wonder today. The Southern Itinerary sounds like big fun.

Peeking in from break! :3dglasses

Jeff, Kristi, and Shirley: Thanks for the info regarding how the waitlist bookings work. And I keep forgetting that DCL doesn't give you the 10% rebooking discount on the suites. :faint: LOL

Jeff, I read your reply out on the main cruise board about why someone would want to use a TA and I think you did a great job in listing all of the reasons. I'm feeling fairly optimistic about getting a chance at one of the mid-ship Cat 3 cabins :smooth: Financially speaking though, I don't know if that'd be a good thing or not. :lmao:

Let's see...

Cat 3 = no discount, MUCH more expensive, one onboard credit (I'm assuming they do give the onboard credit for a suite? How much is it??)

VS.

two Cat 6 cabins = a discount and TWO onboard credits...

Hmmm... :scratchin LOL I just can't wait to see the actual mid-ship Cat 3 suite when we cruise in February. That'll be helpful when it comes time to deciding which way we want to go in 2008.

Ok break's over, be back at lunch time. :teeth:

So how long do you think it will be before we see any 2008 rates.

And will they only do up to May in the first bunch?

I asked when the 2008 dates/rates would be released when we rebooked last month. I was told they should be released by the end of September or in October. Now, we just have to wait and see what happens. :lmao:

Hi everyone,

Okay Tina, another payback. :rotfl2:

I am so excited. :dancer: Unpacked, did my laundry :laundy: and repacking for our 11 day Southern Caribbean Cruise on the Wonder :sail: next week. Flying to WDW on Friday the 15th and going to the MNSSHP; pooh: :goofy: meeting up with some of the cruisers on the 16th :rainbow: and back to cruising o party: :rockband: n the 17th - 28th. And this time we get to celebrate our :cake: birthdays on the actual dates. :bounce: The cruises and less than one month apart - 7 days on the Magic followed up by the 11 days on the Wonder with Lindsay and I celebrating our old ages aka birthdays.

I feel so old with Lindsay turning 19 and she should be in her 2nd year of college if she went, but she wont. She doesnt want to give up her cruises. I think I spoiled her at a young age doing 2-3 cruises a year (lol) but she helps me alot with "Sunshine Travel". Unlike some travel agents who sell travel and have never been anywhere, Lindsay has been on 15 cruises and some land trips and has the knowledge and experience that some "agents" don't have. She first traveled when she was 3 months old and been traveling ever since.

Hope everyone has a good first day/week of school.

Bev :sunny:

I hope you have a Wonderfull time (since its the Wonder) :cool1:
Have a great birthday trip.

They only did that last year because of the Med cruises that start in May. There was probably much to finalize before they could release those dates.

If there are no new ports of calls and DCL sticks to the standard western/eastern (maybe southern) cruises then they should be able to release the entire 2008 season at the same time. Of course many of us are hoping for a few surprises.

The rumor of 10 day cruises to celebrate the Magic's 10th anniversary sounds great to me. Was that already a rumor or did I just start that one? :rotfl2:

While its unlikely, an Alaska cruise would be nice,

But the magic or wonder is not setup for cold water cruising.

Since "Bermuda" keeps showing up as possible future options on the surveys I've taken, I would love to cruise there again! It's a beautiful island, and very different atmosphere that the ports we just visited in Mexico. There is *no* haggling in the shops, it's a much more affluent island. I've been there on a land vacation as well as on a cruise vacation. When I took the DCL survey the other day I gave the "Bermuda" option the highest interest rating that I could. I'd also love to do a southern Caribbean cruise. It'd be great for DCL to offer 7- or 10-night cruises to those islands in 2008 :sunny:

Hey all!
I returned from taking Katharine to France last night and boy am I wiped out!!!! Too much travel.....but who's complaining :teeth:

I woke up at about 11:30 this morning and have been trying to catch up on all the posts since then. WOW! Almost as busy as before the cruise.

SO.....

TERRY: please add us to the August 16th date. I don't know how, but I WILL convince hubby that I must go!

JEFF: I am glad that I was in the right place at the right time also! It was such a treat to be able to help in that way.

ANNA: I had not realized that it was you who had done the Mickey ears. They were so fun! What a clever gal! I am sorry that you will not be cruising again soon, but we were in Hawaii in May and I don't blame you! The snorkeling IS beautiful there.

MOIRA: I got your email. I can hear your voice in each word ;)

JUDE: Thanks for being such great "tables-next-to-each-other mates". We had a wonderful time!

ALL MY NEW DISFRIENDS: Our family had such a magical time on our Disney Cruise. pixiedust: Memories to last a lifetime....and more. Thank you all!!!

Joyce

I second the vote for a southern Caribbean itinerary. I am extremely jealous of everyone going on those Wonder cruises this month. I'd be willing to fly to San Juan to board the ship there if it means DCL can do a southern itinerary in 7 days.

Andy....speaking of needing small bill$ for school lunches, I had to laugh at that. I brought a wad of $1 bills on the cruise for the Mexican stops and mostly everything I bought cost $5 or $10 so most of the $1 came home.

But not for naught - worked out great for school lunches.

Sounds like me, I had about 40 $1.00 bills when we left the ship. I should have thought ahead about needing them for school lunches, but when we got back to my mom's I started using the dollar bills so I didn't have to carry all them back home with me. Usually, I write our a check for a ten day meal ticket, but I don't think Angelina wants to do the meal ticket this year, after all, she's a Junior in high school now. It's not cool to have a meal ticket I guess. :rotfl2:

Welcome Back Joyce!!!

Next time you talk, or e-mail Katharine, tell her Angelina said "HI!!!"

Angelina started a new part-time job last night at one of our local Pizza shops, she said she made a few mistakes last night, but seems to like the job. Right now, she is working with one of her 17 year old cousins, and she is helping to train Angelina.

Angelina said her first day of 11th grade went very well. Since she is the only one returning to do the morning announcments from last year, she has the title of "Lead Anchor" she was beaming when she came home and told us after school!!! :goodvibes

I just hope we don't have any incidents like one morning last year. Let's just say we almost had a "Janet Jackson" wardrobe malfunction episode. BTW, the morning annoucements are shown via video at her school. It made for a most unusal morning to say the least.

Hi Everyone!

WELL JOHN'S SHOES AND JOHN'S PANTS HAVE MADE IT HOME!!! Our lost-long bag was sitting on the stoop "naked" waiting for us all to come home. I don't know why I thought it would be in a box, but it was shipped the way it was with a shipping label wrapped around it's handle. It looks really good too! And you know what? There was alot more in there than I even thought. Our formal clothes I already knew about and souvenieers that I knew about too, but my makeup and jewerly, well, let's just say that even though I'm the "Diamonique Queen", would have been more than I cared to lose. Also, my most favorite Happy Bunny shirt was in there. It reads: "You Go Girl"........and don't come back! That Happy Bunny cracks me up! She/He says all the things I can't! Also, a bag a laundry was in there. A DCL Collage frame, all of my fish mail (oh. horrors), bathsuits, shoes (besides John's), and did I say MAKEUP!!! Lots and lots of it! Thanks goodness it's all back! All's well that ends well!

Mary Rose:

Why don't you either call DCL or Dreamsunlimited Travel and asked them to fax over your request for cabins in the category you want. That way you'll be sure to get exactly what you are looking for.

I sent a request for rates to DU and they said they were sending a fax over to DCL to put us on the list for a category 3. We might not be able to get that but I am sure we'll atleast get a 6 which will be fine.

Lyn
