Wow, I didn't think we'd hit 11,000 before midnight.

Well, that's what I get for letting the kids stay up late.

Buddy Bear......using diapers as packing material....that's priceless.

What are the dimensions of the fan you bought? I remember reading someone else on DIS brings a small fan on their cruise for the same reason and I always thought that was a neat thing.

I bought two different white noise machines and none of them have sounds as soothing as hearing a fan.

Speaking of noises.......months ago DCL sent the CC music CD and I finally got around to listening to it. Neat stuff. I like that the last song is the sounds of the beach. But I could do without hearing the seagulls. That is such an irritating sound.

Buddy Bear Great idea shipping the fans, I like it. My DH has also converted me to being a fan sleeper, we sleep with a fan on all year long no matter what the weather is like outside!
Just wondering what are you doing with the fans after the cruise?
Are you leaving them behind? Just trying to pick your brain and see whether or not we can take our fan with us.

This surprise was fairly cheap to pull off. They were on sale at Wal Mart for under $7.00 and they look like this.

I will be going to the post office tomorrow and I will bet that the shipping cost will be more than the cost of fans.

Thanks. We are staying at the Caribbean Beach resort for 3 days after the cruise so I am sure my wife will want to keep them. As a matter of fact since we will be driving down Missy will probably pack them in the van and take them home. They almost qualify as a cruise sovenier.

I'm sorry I missed the race to 11,000, but I have had the most wonderful day. We went to the Sox game today and it was terrific! I did feel a little guilty, though, that Curtis Granderson made the final out -- he's my favorite Tiger.

When I got home I found an e-mail from my principal and I can get into my new room tomorrow to start setting it up. My room will be in the new addition, and we weren't supposed to have access until after an inspection on the 18th. Since I have 63 boxes to unpack & get situated before school starts on the 30th, I was getting very anxious. If I can get a few hours in tomorrow and Tuesday, I'll really be able to relax and enjoy myself.


Best of all, Steve gets home from Indianapolis tomorrow. He's been at a convention since Wednesday.


Hope everyone's packing is managable, all of our travelers are safe, and those who are already in Florida are having a marvelous time.

Buddy Bear Thanks for answering and letting me pick your brain. We usually drive and buy fans from every vacation too. I have more small fans then I know what to do with! Ahhh maybe I could ship on down also and just leave it!

I meant to do this last night, but with all the frenzy going on I forgot. The attached message was copied from a post that Jude made on the PassPorter board and I wanted to share it with this group, and to also share my heartfelt thanks to Jude for serving our country so proudly. Thank you Jude, and I'm sure you won't mind me sharing this:

This cruise is a gift from me to my family after my National Guard unit was activated and I spent over 20 months on active duty (11 in Iraq but all 20 away from home). They spent that whole time without Mommmy/wife and were a wreck worrying about me. I can't express how awesome they were for me. I received letters, care packages etc etc all the time. After all they went thru the last 2 years I want this vacation to be perfect for them...

I just got back from taking Angelina to our community center so she could get in her morning workout, I had to turn the heater on in the car this morning as it was a bit chilly at 62* poor Angelina was shivering, LOL!!!

Three more work days for me, then my vacation starts!!!
