Reeniey - I'm in East Greenbush, across the river from Albany. I'm on deck 2. When we booked, my DD was in a climbing phase and I didn't want to tempt her with a veranda. Now that she's outgrown that phase, it's too late to get a veranda. :guilty: But hopefully we'll be too busy to care about that!
I'm trying to pack and realizing that I'm not gonna fit everything into our suitcases. Especially now that I have to add all my toiletries that normally would be in my carry on. Maybe I did a little too much shopping...hee hee.
How dressed up do people get for the formal/semi formal night? I'm a little worried that we'll stand out because according to my DH, "It's my vacation from siuts and ties and I'm not going to wear any!!". Sooo....we have button down shorts and dresses but we'll be a little more casual....

OBMW - thanks for the welcome!!!

I better go sit on my suitcase again....

On a lighter note...we went to Sesame Place today!!

We live about 40 minutes from Langhorne, PA where Sesame Place is and have been season pass holders for years. For those who don't know it is a theme park, almost entirely water rides, which is a blast for the little ones
Sarah loves all the characters and has never been afraid of any one of them (this includes Disney characters also) so having this type of picture taken is a breeze (that and $13.95 for 2 4 x 6 prints) :rotfl2:

MARY ROSE.. will 2 bottles of that wine smoothie be enough?? Who else is bringing mixers on the ship?? Is anyone bringing mudslides and strawberry margaurita's(*) mixes...

I have 2 bottles of champage to share as well.. any one game for it??

DOREEN

I'm a lousy typist - I meant button down SHIRTS...although if he could get away with shorts at dinner my DH would try it!!!

JEFF... that is awful. how is your mom doing now? Wil she be able to ride a bike again??

DOREEN

Thanks for asking.

I just spoke to her and she is feeling much better. She is a very determined woman and loves to ride her bicycle at the shore so I would lay big money on her being back on her bike again soon.

Hi! Andy told me about this board from the passporter site - I'm glad that I found it in time! Thanks so much, Andy. :worship:
This is our first family cruise. Since many of you are veterans, I'd appreciate any suggestions that you have. I still have 1.5 days before I fly down to Florida...
Thanks!
Jude :yay:

Hey Jude! (Sorry, couldn't resist!) Welcome to the group! :grouphug:

Since you're a first timer I have some suggestions for you. :thumbsup2 I always pack a bunch of ziplock bags in various sizes. The big ones are great for throwing wet swimsuits into at the end of the cruise, so the rest of your luggage doesn't end up wet by the time you get home. Also if you haven't heard this before, go get yourself a cheap clear plastic shoe rack/bag that hangs over the door. It's great for putting toiletries, swim goggles, etc in. It makes it easy to find things.

Dori :teeth:

JUDE.. my family does get dressed up with gowns and tuxes.. but we dont get to dress that way normally.. thats only for formal and semi formal night
the other dinners are casual.. I am not sure if shorts are allowed in the dining rooms...
I have capris,, and skorts..

READ PAGE 1 of the did boards cruise.. it has a list of esstianal items that you need or suggest to bring with you..

Thats good news JEFF... good for her..

DORI.. you had to say it...lol

Hi! Yes,we're leaving tomorrow! I must have packed and repacked a million times! Printed out our boarding passes, hopefully the lines in Newark won't be tooooo long! Will be in Emerald Island tomorrow night, in the pool, and back online at night. Safe trip to everyone traveling. See you saturday!
Susan

Jude,

For formal and semi-formal night I wear dress pants, dress shirt, tie and sport coat. The rest of the time I will be cruise casual, dress pants or jeans, with golf type or button down shirt.

Bye SUSAN.. We will see you in FLORIDA.. have a safe trip..

DOREEN

Hey, including the picture in my last post reminded me...
I just grabbed my 'love beads' and 'daisy chain' for the 60's and 70's Parties.
(I already had the tie-dye t-shirt in the pile.)

Dori :hippie:

Bye Susan - Have a safe journey and we'll see you in a few days YAY!

Doreen - I am going booze shopping in Cape Canaveral. I'm planning on bringing Pina Colada, Mudslide, and either a Daiquiri or a Creamscicle. If you bring 2 and I bring 3 we'll have 5 for our smoothie party (which I'm thinking might take place during Karen's LS party) what'yda think?

MR

Well, I've made a list if things I hadn't thought of - ziplock bags, extra batteries, over the door shoe holder and I'll be running out to Walmart at lunch. And i just remembered that none of my DD's dresses are very "dressy"...maybe I'll do some shopping in Daytona on Wednesday if I don;t get out tomorrow night. We've been planning for this trip for forever and I'm still not ready!!! So if anyone sees a frazzled mom of two running around the ship, that will be me!
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. I really appreciate them.

By the way, will anyone else be in the MK on Thursday? Our family is doing the flag retreat at 5PM....

We're back! FINALLY! We didn't get home until just after 9pm. I haven't made it through all of the new posts tonight, I just don't have the time or energy, so I'll finish reading them tomorrow some time.

Hope you're all doing well. Goodnight :)

Well I want you to buy jewelry... so drink up!! as long as they bring cash or credit,,lol
I bought bubble wrap.. and the zip lock HUGE bags for packing the bottle..the whiskey is brand new and we didnt drink itfor over 2 yrs.. and the champange is 2 yrs old as well.. and I am afraid they may not have that brand of smoothie wine mixer down there..

That is sooooooo cool!!!

My family arrives on Thursday afternoon in Orlando and we are scheduled to meet up with Buddy Bear and his family Thursday evening in the Daytona Beach area for dinner, as my mom lives about 30 minutes from Daytona Beach.
