Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

I shipped the fans today with a pack of diapers stuffed around them The cost for 2 - 3 day priority mail was $13.35 from New Brunswick, NJ (where I work).

Actually my wife is one of the smartest woman I know. She lets me do all the planning so all she has to do is show up and have fun.

This kind of stuff is fun to do so I prefer it that way too. I am just happy she doesn't have any interest in the DIS boards (I know...blasphemy). It is much easier to keep a secret when I can share with all of you.

Marla: My DSs (18 and 15) will most likely be wearing band shirts every day, too... Tool, AC/DC, Beatles, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, etc.... They don't know this yet but while on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights yesterday, I had "pirate" t-shirts made up for them. The pirates are rather rough and scary looking, so I think the boys will think they're OK...and they say "dead men tell no tales" at the very bottom of the shirt (very small print in the design though), so I figured they qualify at DISNEY PIRATES shirts. I'll tell them that if they wear them to dinner on Pirate Night, they can also wear shorts if they want, since that'll be their "costume"!! (Supposedly it's ok to wear shorts to dinner on pirate night??? )

Hey Jude...(ahhh I love the Beatles...) Please don't stress about formal night. With each new cruise I take, the less interested in formal night clothing I am. For this cruise, I have a couple of tanktop/jacket sets that are basically what you see people wear on New Year's Eve... you know, all sparkly and glittery...and I'm just going to wear a long black skirt on formal night with the gold set, and black dress pants on semi-formal night with the blue set. DSs and DH all have suits. Voila', we're set for formal nights. LOL

Okay so here goes.....
Yesterday at church my DS Nick, who is 4, said to me "I wish that David and Miranda could go with us on the cruise". David is 10 and Miranda is 5 and their family and our family are good friends.

So, last night (Sunday, 8pm) I mentioned what Nick said.

Today at 11:30 she called and said...."so where do I look for Disney Cruises online, because I don't want to pay retail." WHAT?!!???!!!

Yeah, she decided on the way home from the gym that she wanted to go and so she made some phone calls and guess what.....they are across the hall from us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it! She is planning a cruise on 4 DAYS NOTICE! Terry....not 4 days to pack....4 days to get EVERYTHING ready!!!!!!!! Is she insane, or what! I give her credit, she didn't even want me to bring over my PassPorter. She said "can't we decide when we get on the boat?" Yep, you sure can! Good for her! No stress, no worries, just fun in the sun!!!!

Crazy, huh!

Hi all

We have arrived in Fl.
Started saturday, spent night in chambersburg PA, on sunday drove to Lorton VA and boarded Autotrain, and as 1/2hr ago, we checked into Old Key west Resort.

dinner tonight at Liberty Tree and then tommorow I celerbrate my 49th Bday.

This friday night
We check in at the Raddisson in Port and Sat we go aboard the Magic for our first disney cruise.

Yes I did try the space bags, and I still have 1 large , 1 small and a carryon.
But the small is not clothes, its all the other items I need for a 3 week vacation. So the bags did help, for the 3 of use not counting caitlins toys we have 7 bags but one of them is non clothing items.


Then a laptop, portable dvd player for car, game boy case, backpack of caitlin play items, Snacks for in car,

Overall not bad for 3 weeks on road including cruise, but still a lot,
It could have been much worse.

Hi everyone!

Done with school now on to the homework!

I have my suitcases open & things just piled on top but nothing officially "packed". I have a ton of laundry to catch up on first!

I had a dream last night that I forgot to get off the boat at Castaway Cay but I kept saying...at least I have another chance during this cruise! I'm sure this will be the first of many this week!

WOW!!! And I thought I was crazy when I planned our 30th Anniversary Cruise just two weeks before we sailed, but 4 days, WOW!!!

That's great that she's able to do it, since obviously she wants to do it, but I really, really enjoy all of the research and anticipation of planning a vacation in advance Again though, I'm so happy for both of your families that you'll be cruising together! Please be sure to introduce them to us!

I also can't believe that BuddyBear is going to make it to home plate with his secret!!!! And to think that Missy hasn't even ONCE wanted to peek on the DISboards. It's amazing!!! Now, if MIL gets lost from Missy's room to her room, there are other problems!!!!

I am so glad to hear that so many of you aren't into "formal". And boy have I learned my lesson about buying in advance for kids. I bought my DD-2 a cinderella and a belle dress/costume last year when they were on clearance. Well, she won't have a thing to do with them!!!! I also bought a number of nice but not fancy dresses earlier this year. The tags are still on them, and probably will still be after the cruise. Her latest favorite style??? No clothes at all. Doesn't want diapers, pull-ups or panties. Wants the potty when she doesn't need it, but not when she does. She's the one you'll see streaking!!!

Need advise. I've decided NOT to bring carseats for DD-2 or DD-7 months. Can any one think of a reason I would NEED one (or two???) other than the obvious, which is safety??? We'll go from plane to bus and won't rent a car at WDW. The only thing I can think of is if we wanted to go grocery shopping and take a cab at WDW. Am I forgeting something here????

Is DD 7 months still in the rear facing - carrying kind. If so, I might bring that one because it is nice to be able to put her in it and set her down in different places (pool deck, room, to change other dd diaper, ect.) Just a thought.

Need advise. I've decided NOT to bring carseats for DD-2 or DD-7 months. Can any one think of a reason I would NEED one (or two???) other than the obvious, which is safety??? We'll go from plane to bus and won't rent a car at WDW. The only thing I can think of is if we wanted to go grocery shopping and take a cab at WDW. Am I forgeting something here????

Actually we were wondering about the excursions while on CM and Coz. We will go on our own while at CM and will probably take a cab to Majahual, but we are not sure how we are going to seatbelt in Sarah
