Hazel just arrived home with my AirShield, I'm getting started on it this very minute!!! My nose has been stuffy all day and I'm not taking any chances, especially with the cruise so close.

Karen: This bottle is so big, I'll just hand out a bunch of straws to everyone!!


Andy: John and I have been fighting off what we think is a sinus infection. Been drinking Airborne, too. I buy AirShield too, I think it works just as well as Airborne. I have an appointment for a check-up with my doctor this Tuesday afternoon, I think I'm going to ask him for some "just in case" antibiotics. We seem to always get sick right before vacation. I hope you're feeling better soon, Andy!

Everyone: We're in the home stretch now, so be careful out there! We don't want any (more) broken bones (Darlene, how is Sandy doing with her cast??), or any other kind of illnesses!!

Thanks for the ! We are meeting up with my older sister (she flies a red-eye from Las Vegas) and younger sister (she flies from Seattle on Thursday). Hopefully we will all meet at Coronado Springs at 8am on Saturday and head to the port together.

Don't tell anybody, but we are going to use some of my sister's dining credits that they won't be using for breakfast.
We wouldn't want the dining plan police to come after us would we???

Moira & Karen: I have you both to the blame for the obscenely LARGE bottle of Bailey's that I just bought!! Here's my logic: The 750ml bottle cost $21. The 1 liter bottle cost $26. The 1.750L bottle cost $36. Therefore, I saved $11 by buying the biggest bottle they had AND it'll probably last me a year since I'm the only one here in my house who drinks it!!! I'm enjoying some over ice right now...

Excellent thinking!! This logic can be applied to almost any purchase with great satisfaction!!

Sooooooooo many posts!

We had my mom's surprize 75th birthday party today and it went very well. My sister wasn't able to come in, so it was Steve & me, my brother, a few family friends, and 8 of her husband's children with assorted grandchildren and spouses. She was very happy and there were just enough happy tears to go around.

We're leaving Friday the 18th at about 6:30 in the morning.
Now I've got to finish my project and worry about packing. I really don't know what to bring for the excursions to the ruins. On the cruise site they suggest long pants, sleeves, and bug spray, but that sounds soooo hot to wear traipsing through Mexico. What is the appropriate balance between protection and heat stroke? Any suggestions?

Do you guys have to have us surrounded on all sides?
My family and I (DH Curtis, DS12 Lucas, DS9 Trevor, and Anna) are in 6612.
Older sister Delia is across the hall in 6611. My younger sister and her family (Claire, DH Mark, DD12 Faye, DS6 Charles) are in 6614.

O'BWV is in 6611 and 6610. Allshookup is in 6616.
We've got neighbors surrounding us!!!

I really don't know what to bring for the excursions to the ruins. On the cruise site they suggest long pants, sleeves, and bug spray, but that sounds soooo hot to wear traipsing through Mexico. What is the appropriate balance between protection and heat stroke? Any suggestions?

We bought breathable long sleeve shirts from LLBean a few years ago and we will be wearing those. They are surprisingly cool because they protect you from the hot sun. For pants we will wear lightweight zip off pants for the boys. I'll be wearing capris. We also bought some Kafka Koolties (www.kooltie.com)that you get wet and then put around your neck and they are good at keeping you cool in hot, humid weather. We tried some from Wal-Mart at WDW last summer and they were gross. The goo inside leaked out around your neck. I contacted this company and verified these would not do that and they don't. We've worn them several times and though they bulge at the seams, they don't leak. We also wear hats that cover the back of our necks. Lastly, we'll be bringing lots of water. We are on the Disney excursion to Chaccohoben....not David and Ivan.

DD finally got the computer working and I couldn't log on to the DISboards.
Congrats to Moira and Elaine. Onward to 12,000. I know with this group we can easily do 12,000 by the cruise.

We are leaving on SW 8/18 at 10:25 am. Should be arriving in Orlando by 1 and renting a car to drive to the Radisson. Leaving Orlando on 8/31. Flying back to Orlando 9/16 to do the 11 day DCL .

Can't get enough of Disney.

Hi Doreen - I didn't receive the LS jewelry yet. Was it sent UPS or by the post office? I'm working from home tomorrow so hopefully maybe it will come tomorrow. Did you receive the check yet?

Joanna - yes we cancelled the Crown Princess 12/9 and switched to RCCL Adventure of the Seas 12/10 also doing the Southern Caribbean. I'll check on the other cruise tomorrow. Can't get through now.

I'm so excited about meeting everyone and having an awesome time. You truly are a great group of people. We've shared good times and bad, sicknesses, deaths and births. Everyone has been so supportive of each other. We are starting our drive down from NJ at 6:00 PM on 08/16 and stopping our first night in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; with any luck we should be in Daytona Beach, Fl by dinner time on the the 17th. We will spend the day siteseeing in DB and then drive to port the morning of the cruise (it is only a little over an hour to PC from DB).

Hi All!

We've been gone pretty much all day. Went to go spend time with my MIL (about an hour away), she's been having a hard time since my FIL passed away. It will take some time for her, but she is stronger than she thinks.

On the way back, we hit bad traffic and couldn't make it to my son's pick-up hockey game. Oh well, got to come back and catch up on reading the boards a little sooner!

We leave for vacation at about 6:00 a.m. (pacific time) on 8/18.

OK, I've got a silly little question to ask - If we're at the port and I see people that I think might be some of you DISers, and I get the courage to come on over to say hi, how do you all refer to the board?

Do you spell out the letters D-I-S boards OR do you pronounce it dis (rhyming with miss?)

Hi Kris, when I was at Mickeys not so scary Halloween party in October, I saw a woman with a lime green Mickey head hanging off her bag. It had her DIS name on it too. I asked her if she was from the DISboards (rhyming with miss) and it worked out great! I had one but it was not laminated like hers so it was harder to see. I think its a cute idea to get the lime green Mickey heads from home depot, write your disboard name on it and then laminate it (i think staples will do it)
