Good Morning Everyone :wave2:
2nd time writing all of this out...........argh !

I was on the phone with Bev as the ship was sailing away. :cool1: I heard the horn blowing in the background. It was a little emotional. I hope you have a " Wonderful " time Bev !! :thumbsup2

Exciting news on this end.............well at least I have a decision to make and by tomorrow. :hourglass Brooke & I have the opportunity during Feb. recess and a little more. :teeth: 10 days to visit Paris,Strasbourg,Bruges & Brussels.

Chuck is being very supportive and will stay home to be with Jonathan and watch the dogs. I have made my list of pros and cons and keep going back & forth on my decision. The bonding experience between mother & daughter I think is priceless. I will let everyone know what I decide as the clock is ticking.

Oh and Brooke is just BEAMING with the thought of going. This is her 2nd year of French, she is a very good student and only 24 people are going in total !!! 4 spots are left.

Tina--sounds like the trip of a lifetime for Brooke and yourself of course!!! Keep us posted.

I couldn't make the decision........I am the practical one in the family. :confused3 I also feel bad that Chuck & Jonathan would be behind so I told Chuck he would have to make the decision. :rotfl2: I would accept whatever it was. Brooke & I are going to France !!! He says the opportunity and value out weighs everything else. The experience between mother & daughter will be forever.

If your wondering about cost.............let's just say all 4 of us could have cruised with a view.

It's a jammed back tour, some of the highlights include seeing the Mona Lisa, madonna & child sculpted by Michelangelo, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Hall of mirrors. We will also be taking a train ride, canal cruise seeing the Eiffel Tower.

Alot of other things but that gives you guys an idea.

Sounds like an AWESOME trip!!! I'm sure you and Brooke will have a GREAT time!!!

Tina, how much arm bending did they really have to do? What an exciting opportunity!!! Enjoy, and let us know the details.

Justed wanted everyone to know I am still here. The move has taken on a life of its own. We started Aug 31st and are still moving stuff. We hopefully will have everything moved by the weekend. Luckily for us the closing were over 3 weeks apart for the new and old home.

I have been trying to keep up with the posts. Glad to hear we are all anxiously awaiting for 2008. My gut feeling is that a lot of us will do the 16th which I hope is an eastern or DCL announces special 10 day southern itineraries.

I am still probably a week or two away from posting any photos or video. I still want to post the video Joyce took when we first walked in the Roy.

Andy: It appears all the cds you burned for me worked fine so if you haven't already please feel free to delete our photos from you hard drive.

Thanks for letting me know Jeff, I kept them in my laptop until I heard from you, just incase, LOL!!! :teeth:

Good Job Andy,

When you a have a moment you can come over and burn my pictures to cd too. :rotfl2:

(I realy need to get back to that, just too busy with life's other interuptions.) :rotfl:

Its a real pain, here we go and have a wonderful vacation, and then it ends and back to work we must all go.

Well I will just keep humming this tune,

"I owe, I owe, its off to work I Go."

I know you are making a joke, but I want to explain what happened since (and this is no big surprise) Andy really came through for us during the cruise.

I brought a laptop and Catherine brought hers too, but neither made it to the Magic. Missy's digital camera also takes great video so she can "blow through" a 1 GB memory stick in no time so I like to bring my laptop so we can dump photos and video and keep on shooting.

Catherine is a teenager so her wanting to bring her laptop doesn’t need explanation. :goodvibes As many of you know on our road trip we stopped in Daytona Beach at Helen's condo. The morning of the cruise I thought it silly to bring both laptops so I asked Catherine which laptop we should bring. Of course her answer was hers so I left mine in the bedroom.

On the way from Daytona Beach to the port I asked Catherine where her laptop was and she said she forgot it. :sad2:

We decided to drive into Cocoa Beach (passing the Magic along the way) and stop at a CVS to pick up a pack of blank CDs. Thank goodness I have become familar with area and know where the local stores are. I hoped if I had blank CDs someone would be good enough to burn our files.

Andy graciously volunteered which greatly helped in allowing Missy to take all the video and photos she wanted. I know Shutters is an option, but Andy burned about 8 cds for us and that would have just been too much to spend at Shutters.

He told me he would keep the files on his hard drive until I was sure the cds burned correctly and that the files I had on cd were okay.

Thanks again Andy :thumbsup2

No explanation needed.

Word travels fast on the ship, I think there was several laptops on board that were ready to assist you if Andy's failed.
Glad you had a great trip even with this problem

Page 2 again...so sad.

We moved the heavy furniture today so the rest of the week so go well. We will hopefully close on the old house tomorrow which will close the book on that chapter. :cool1:

The old home was nice, but the new home is great.

Congrats on the new home and move Jeff!!! :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Guess I've been guilty of being a lurker - I can read posts while at work but can't post anything (darn firewalls). And by the time we get home and deal with picking up 2 kids from 2 different schools, track practice, soccer practice, tae kwon do class, gardening club and homework, even my finger tips are tired! LOL. ( I know, whine, whine, LOL). That's why I'm trying to post before taking them to school this morning. Sadly. most times we're rushing out the door at 7:20 with fingers crossed that we have everything....
We're still waiting for our house to be built and are living in the apartment complex-from-hell. 'nuff said. Hopefully we are less than 6 weeks away from the new house so there's light at the end of this very long tunnel....

We finally received the postcard sent from castaway Cay. Wow.

We've been telling everyone what an awesome time we had on the cruise - and three of our friends have now booked reservations!! :cool1: Too bad we don't get a commission. hee hee.

Well, just wanted to do my part to keep everyone on page 1.
Have a great day!!!
Jude

Jeff,

Glad the move is almost over and you will get to enjoy the new home.

All,
Here's my bit for page 1.

Had my yearly eye exam yesterday and needless to say the prescription has changed again.

I am moving up to the big times, no longer do I just need reading glasses, but I now have them for distance too.

Only one pair of glasses will be needed, I will be getting the progressive style

no line glasses. Yep another fancy word for bifocals.

Well at least I made it to 49 before I needed them. It was only a matter of time, as my Mom and Dad had glasses, and so do my two Older brothers.

Hopefully I will be back online later today. My laptop is being upgraded with the company's XP installation. I get a new hard drive with the image, but then I will need to reload all applications I use to support work.

At least I have 2 full image backups and a portable usb drive with my essentable software.

Have a great day all.

Ed

Hey Jude-- :grouphug: that the new house gets finished soon and you can enjoy the upcoming holidays in the new home!!!

My poor baby girl, Hazel just received a call letting her know that we have to tell Angelina she lost her job at the pizza shop, apparently she wasn't catching on fast enough for them. The owners of the pizza shop told Hazel's niece to call her and tell her she didn't have the job anymore. Some boss???

In a way, I'm glad she is out of there, Angelina said she felt a bit uncomfortable working with an all male staff. I guess there will be some tears shed this afternoon when Angelina gets home from school, but life does go on!!!

Elaine:  Not sure what you mean by arm bending? :confused3 There wasn't any needed. :) I did go to the meeting last night and found out much more information and saw the slide show presentation. Based on the additional information we received last night we decided to wait till Oct. 14th to decide if we are going or not.

I am still going with ex on Friday to get Brooke's passport because we will still need one anyway. Alot more hidden costs we weren't aware of..........If we don't go this year, we can always save for next year. :thumbsup2

Andy: Give Angelina a  from me. That really stinks how her boss handled things. Tell her it only means that a better job is waiting for her. :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone!

Andy - Sorry about Angelina. What kind of boss would make someone else tell a fellow employee that they are no longer needed. As the saying goes when one door closes another one opens which is better!

We finally have a nice cool day here in the 60's and I have all the windows open and it feels so good. The A/C broke last Tuesday and all last week it was in the 90's here. Yesterday when the temp when cooler the A/C company gets the compressor in and installs it. Haven't turned it on yet. Isn't that the way things go?

Have a nice day everyone!

Angelina took the news like a trooper!!!

I walked in the door for my afternoon break and Angelina said to me, "Hey dad, did you hear I got fired from the pizza shop?" Then she said, "Well, at least my weekends are free again!!!"
