Just wanted to drop in to say "Hi" and "Happy Mt. St. Helens Day"!

She blew her stack 25 years ago today!
(25 years ago?!!! It can't be 25 years already. Geeze, I'm getting old!)

Dori :cool1:

Hey Dori! I saw that on the news this morning and I immediately thought of you! :) How are you and Devon doing these days? How is everything going working at home??

Well I had an interesting day today.... I had a 1pm appointment to get another mammogram because the one I had done a few weeks ago showed up something that they needed more pictures of. So today after they took several more pictures (x-rays, I guess), they sent me downstairs to have an ultrasound done. I figured they must see something because the technician doing the ultrasound kept going back to one specific area. Sure enough, after she was done, she came back in with the head of radiology and he stood there are the computer screen while she got more shots using the ultrasound. After she was done again, I got dressed and the doctor told me that he saw calcifications in the right breast (and I'll need to follow up with another mammogram in 6 months) but he also saw 3 larger things that he's pretty sure are just fluid-filled cysts. He said my regular doctor will be contacting me to set up an appt (I think with a surgeon) so they can do a need aspiration, just to make sure they are indeed cysts, and not solid tumors. Even if they are solid tumors, not every tumor is cancerous, but they have to do these tests just to make sure. I dont know when I'll be going for the aspiration, I have to call my regular doctor tomorrow and see who he's going to refer me to for that.

So, as I'm driving myself back home I get a call from Craig. He hit a hub cap or something in the road on his way home from school and his left front tire blew out. He had already tried to call John but John was in a meeting. Just as I was approaching the gas station that Craig had pulled in to, John called back and said he'd leave work and meet us there. So....under John's direction, Craig changed his tire and put the spare on. As he was lowering the car back down, we realized the spare was flat too. All this time, Craig is coughing and blowing his nose because he woke up sick this morning but went to school because he thought it might just be allergies. But he now has a sore throat and swollen glands, so it might not be allergies. Anyway.... we put Craig's flat tire in the back of John's truck, left Craig's car parked at the gas station, dropped Craig off so he could take some cold/allergy medicine, then John and I headed to BJ's, which is where Craig had just bought a whole set of tires for his car, just 3 months ago. Fortunately the tire was fully covered under their policy, and we got a brand new tire. John put the new tire on Craig's car and drove it home, and now here we are. lol

In the grand scheme of things, not the best day, but definitely not the worst day. lol

Hope you all had/are having a good day :sunny:

Now....what should I make for dinner.... :confused3

Terry - sorry to see youre having trouble again. Hope all works out well

Terry: I am sorry about your day. :grouphug: I hope things go well at the doctor's. :wizard: It's past dinner time hope you ordered a pizza. :teeth:

I saw on the May repo cruise that the cruise pin on ebay is up to 100.00 already with 5 days left of bidding. That sure is alot of dough for a pin. :earseek: 3 min. till lost comes on. Have a good night everyone. Tina

Terry--plenty of :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: and a :grouphug: is heading your way!!!

Tina--the cortisone shot is beginning to take effect. It usually takes a day or two to really kick in, so I stayed home today and gave my knee as much rest as possible. The last shot gave me nearly six weeks of relief, I hope this shot does the same or better, one can only hope.

Doreen: Marty will be in my thoughts on June 9th. :goodvibes Glad he is finally getting the surgery. I saw on the news tonight President Bush is coming to a school here on Tuesday. I can only imagine the traffic.

Andy: Here's to a good six weeks and beyond. :wizard:

Thanks Tina, my knee is even feeling better this morning, let's see how I do after walking around and kneeling on it today, luckily I only have 17 curb meters in the meter book that I will be doing today, the other 90+ meters in the book are inside meters. I think these next five years are going to seem as long as the past 26 years have been. LOL!!!

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone :)

Doreen: I'm so glad that Marty will finally have the surgery that he needs. I hope it's successful and that Marty will be feeling good after he's recovered. And yes, make sure he takes it easy while he's recuperating!!

Andy: I'm glad you're feeling a little better today. You take it easy too... as much as you're able to.

Terry:
I am sending PD :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: and good wishes your way. I am keeping you in my prayers I know everything will be ok. Hope Craig is feeling better.

Andy: Sorry to hear about your knee. That pain must be awful. I agree with Tina just keep chanting, Florida, retirement and maybe that will get you through. I will keep you in my prayers

Doreen: I am glad Marty's wait is finally over. Back pain is very hard to bear and I could tell the last time we saw Marty he was in a lot of pain. Hopefully the surgery will help him. I am keeping your family in my prayers. It seems like my prayers for the sick and injured are just about all from our cruise friends!

Now for my news, Bob has been sick again and we spent Saturday in the ER. I thought is was going to be something simple, but Bob and simple don't go together.

After doing a CT and blood test the Doctor came in and told us that they think Bob has Viral Hepatitis, Duodenitis and that all of his blood test came back abnormal.

It felt like someone hit me with a bat. We went to the doctor on Monday and he re-ran all the tests and we go back today for the results. In the meantime we received the final reports from the radiologist on the CT. His spleen is enlarged, and has what he thinks are cysts but they will need to do an ultrasound to be sure. He also notes that he is not sure if Bob has Duodenitis, Pancreatitis or a stone in his common bile duct.

Most of you know that all Bob's problems started with a mistake the doctor made during a test that caused him to having Necrotising Pancreastitis three years ago and left him with many problems such as Diabetes. He was in the hospital for 90 days and out of work for over 6 months.

Please keep us in your prayers we need all the help we can get.

Lyn

Lyn--Prayers, :wizard: and :grouphug: are all heading your way for Bob.

Lyn: Sending PD your way. :wizard: :wizard: Your in my thoughts. :grouphug: If you don't mind me asking.........What was your DH symtoms and did he have liver tests done? The reason why I am asking is..........I need to come out of the closet on something. Just before I wen't to Vegas I had rountine bloodwork come back abnormal and it showed high cholestrol. I came back from Vegas and had more bloodwork done. My liver is abnormal for sure. I haven't been feeling well and I don't see the specialist for another 2 weeks. I recently have noticed a diiferent symptom. Without giving TMI there is something wrong with my bile. I get tired and must sleep alot. I was told by my regular doctor that the specialist would probaly want to do a liver biopsy. :confused3 I have been trying to keep my mind busy but frankly I am scared. Tina

Lyn: I don't know all the circumstances around Bob's medical problems but I will keep him in my prayers.

Tina: I am so sorry you have to wait two weeks to find out what the heck is going on. Sometimes it's the waiting that makes you imagine all kinds of horrible things that can be wrong. I will also keep you in my prayers & wish you all the best.

I am bit worried lately myself. My DD has been suffering from severe migraines which include vomiting and she's only 10. She is going for some tests to rule out anything serious. Though I don't normally ask...I would appreciate it if you could add an extra prayer for her too. Thanks!

Take Care Everyone!
Diane

Diane--we will put your DD on our prayer list, I know how tough it is when you have a sick child.

My knee feels quite well, even after being on it all day. When I went to turn the meter book in at the end of the day, I saw my retroactive check on my boss' desk, that was a nice surprise to receive today. I'm taking half of it and applying to the August 2006 cruise, now our cruise will be more than half way paid off!!!!! I love seeing that balance come down!!!!! :goodvibes

I also celebrated and took Hazel and Angleina to "Old County Buffet" for dinner tonight!!! :goodvibes

Hi Guys

Just caught up on the last few threads, and it looks like a few of you could do with some extra hugs, prayers and pixie dust, which I send to you all.

Terry; I do hope all turns out well with you, I am thinking about you, what a rough old day you had. :grouphug:

Tinas: My Dear Neighbour, Dont be scared, you have done the right thing in getting it checked out, I am sure everything will be fine, but the waiting is the worst part I know. :grouphug:

Andy: So glad your knee is feeling better, lets hope that operation, if you have to have one, is'nt going to affect your holiday plans.Take it easy my friend. :grouphug:

Lyn: I do hope Bob is feeling better soon, I am sending you loads of pixie dust, prayers and Hugs, I will be thinking about you both :grouphug:

Diane: I really hope your daughter is better soon, I have suffered with terrible migranes with sickness since I was a child, it's not nice I know, hugs to you too :grouphug:

Doreen: Hello my friend, how are you. Good wishes being sent to you and Marty in my best welsh accent. :grouphug:

Hello :wave2: to all my other friends and cruise buddys. Mary Rose where are you, how is the job going. Our front page needs updating, I do hope that you are well. :grouphug:

Best wishes to all, will catch up again soon.

Sue

Tina: Bob's symptoms were pain right between his ribs, constant vomitting and his urine was the color of Ice Tea.

That being said I went through problems with my liver functions this year and it turned out to be other medicine that I was taking that caused the problem. I cut back on my Pamelor which I take for panic attacks and that did the trick. But I learned along the way that many medicines affect your liver. Cholestrol medicine can also be a culprit. I like you was worried sick because they wanted to do a biopsy but when I went to the specialist he said to try cutting back the medicine and that did the trick. Hopefully it will be something simple for you also. I will keep you in my prayers and I am sending lots of PD :wizard: :wizard: your way.

Diane: I hope your daughter is feeling better soon. Lots of prayers and PD coming your way. :wizard: Insist on a CT if they haven't already done one. Just to rule out anything and ease your mind. I'm sure they already told you this but, becareful of caffeine and artificial sweetners they cause migraines.

Bob went back to the doctor today and he is sending him to a specialist. The good news is he doesn't have hepatitis, but the bad news is they don't know what is wrong. So now we have to wait until the 25th to see the specialist.

In the meantime he got his tooth pulled out today and that turned into a circus also. They refused to pull the tooth until he went to the family doctor for an EKG because they said something was wrong with his heart. The family doc gave him the ok and then they pulled the tooth this afternoon. Bob always does things the hard way. God do I need a vacation!!!!!

Lyn

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. My DD's pediatrician hasn't discussed anything with me yet. I guess she is leaving it all for the neurologist which we will be seeing tomorrow. All she really ever has to drink is juice or chocolate milk. She hates Lactaid milk (I don't blame her) so she covers up the taste with chocolate which I know does have some caffeine but she hardly ever has anything diet. She does have an MRI scheduled for Sunday & I insisted on having some blood tests done just to rule out anything & the doctor agreed that wasn't a bad idea. I will keep you all updated. Thanks for caring!

Andy: Glad your knee felt a bit better today.

Lyn: Good to hear that Bob doesn't have Hepatitis. I hope it turns out to be nothing too serious. Good luck!
