I read earlier on the Cruistoberfest thread on the Cruise Meets forum that someone passed away today on Castaway Cay. What a tragic shame. May God Bless this family.

Me too. I also cant wait to watch the last 45 minutes of suvivor. I watched until I saw who won, then I had to put the kids to bed.

My thoughts go out to the freinds and family of the person who died on CC.... soo tragic, and the timing, which would suck at anytime, particularly sucks this time.

That's the downside to these shows......going through withdrawal next week. I guess we will have to wait 4 or 5 months for the nest one.

You know....I was just reading a bit of the "LIVE from the Magic" thread, and I can't understand what the big secret is about who died on Castaway Cay. If it weren't a DISer, then obviously it wouldn't even be an issue. But apparently it is a DISer. Why is someone (I forget their screen name, and it really doesn't matter anyway) getting all bent out of shape because people are wondering who it was???? They died from whatever reason. I'm sure it wasn't anything shameful, so why the need to not say who it was??

For the record, if *I* die on our cruise or if any of my family members die, believe me, you CAN post on here and say so. I just don't understand the big secrecy thing. The person mentioned something about "the family will post when the time is right". What does that mean??? I'm sure the family is dealing with their grief right now, not to mention the logistics of trying to get their deceased loved one back home for a funeral. Why would they care if it was posted here on the DIS boards? I've only ever seen compassionate responses from people on these boards when they've heard about a tragedy happening. Imagine returning home, after dealing with the funeral and everything, and then eventually logging onto the DIS Boards and seeing a thread filled with sympathy and condolences. I can imagine it'd make the family members feel good that people took the time and effort to post about it. Even little Nate's mom kept updating us before, during, and after their cruise, and even when Nate was dying.

I guess I don't really want or need replies to this, I'm just wondering outloud, and I just don't understand why this particular person is getting upset because some very concerned DISers were wondering who it was, and how they died.

Like I said, if I die on our cruise, you have my permission to post about it.

Terry: I know you didn't want a reply but..............I couldn't have said it better myself !! I wanted to post a sympathy on the thread but didn't in fear I would get flamed for it. I feel for everyone that was involved but don't understand the secret behind it all. I would like to think that it would comfort Chuck in some way to read about me on the boards. o.k enough of that guess I had to vent a little also. Tina

Thanks Tina I guess it's really none of my business.... the whole thing... but I guess I got a little defensive on behalf of those who had posted with good intentions and then got blasted by that person on that thread. Oh well.

By the way, that's why I didn't post a thing over on that thread either; I didn't want to add fuel to the fire.

Hi guys...we are actually thinking of trying to book this cruise when the DVC window opens up...hopefully it will be me; DH and DD but DH lost his job last August and is currently going to school so if he finds a full time job (God willing) than he might not be able to go because he won't have vacation. But DD and I could still go.

We are booked on the Cruiseoctoberfest but I am hesitant to pull DD out of school for 6 days because she will be a junior and will be taking SAT's that year and getting ready to apply to colleges and we don't want to mess any of that up. Mary Jo

Yes, Angelina will be with us for the August 2006 cruise, but sadly, we will not be able to make the meet in Allentown this July.

We have the same exact issues with DSs, and that's why we vacation in the summer. I hope all works out for your DH.

I hope it works out for you, this is shapping up to be one grand trip with the number pervious and us new cruisers too.

By my unoffical count we must be close to 45 families, at least 54 cabins, and 180 people

But dont hold me too this, Carmen is maintaining the offical list.

I know it's WAY too early to give this any kind of serious consideration...lol....but I'm thinking about trying out the Hard Rock Hotel for a night or two, either before or after the cruise next year. DSs will be 18 and 15 at the time and both are VERY much into music; listening to it AND playing instruments themselves, so I know they'd LOVE the HRH. I love visiting Hard Rock Cafe's, and I've never been to one in Florida, so that'd be something new for me too

It looks really nice from their website pics that I've seen, and the prices don't seem too bad, especially when compared to Disney deluxe resorts. Have any of you ever stayed there? Any comments or opinions??

It's never to early to start planning things for this cruise. You should see my 3 ring binder for the cruise. My DD always collects the bears from Hard Rock and I get myself a pin. DS likes the t-shirts. If you can swing it go for it ! I notice you can get express pass for Universal and it's right there. Why not think about staying there after cruise so you can take advantage of the theme park? I know we will probaly be staying at the Hampton Inn only because of all the traveling Chuck does we can stay there for free.
