Thanks for posting that Andy! We are scheduled to leave NY tomorrow afternoon. We were a bit disappointed to have our cruise cut short by a day & I guess we will be skipping their private Island Great Stirrup Cay, but I can't complain. I can't imagine what it was like to be sailing during that storm! At least we are going & the weather looks to be beautiful all week.

I hope you have a great cruise on the Wonder in August!!!

Hope everyone else has a great week, especially if you're on vacation like us! Be healthy!

Diane

Gotta' love a man who isn't afraid of change! Hope DVC comes through for you and you can book the Wonder. I'd love to hear what you have to say about a 4nt after only sailing 7nt.

Hazel and I did a 4 night cruise on the Magic this past January. It was the special sailing to get the Magic back on schedule after the 10 day Christmas Cruise. We both enjoyed the four day cruise and said we wouldn't mind doing it again, except this time it would be on the Wonder instead of the Magic. We just have to wait until Monday and see what, if anything, is available with using DVC points and cash.

Andy,

I hope you can get what you want at a price your happy with.
We almost booked that cruise as our first cruise, but them we will be spending my bday ( 8/15) with my brother and his family in Ala.

Happy sailing.

Andy - will you be checking into Ft Wilderness the day you get back from the Wonder Cruise? I did actually check on that cruise before I booked us at the Lodge

Andy: I hope you're able to book the Wonder for the dates you want! 4 nights on the cruise :boat: then 3 nights at WDW ::MickeyMo , that's a perfect vacation :sunny:

Barb--Will know more on Monday, but we are looking at staying at the Port Orleans Resort for three nights after the four day cruise. We will still be able to make the meet at the Trail's End on Friday night August 19th, as we won't be checking out of WDW until Sunday morning.

Terry--Yes, this will be the best of both worlds as long as we can get everything worked out!!!

Hi everyone

Andy - I hope things work out for you with the WONDERful cruise. I'm glad the dinner is still on at Trail's End on the 19th. In case I forget. Happy 50th  I'm not always on line except for when we were trying to reach 200 pages. Now that we're shooting for 500 by the 19th, I'll have to get on more. :rotfl:

Congrats to Vicki and Sandra. Great job.

Mary - hope Bryan is feeling better.

Terry - I'm so glad you decided not to cancel the cruise yet and hopefully not at all :dancer:

Today was such a beautiful :sunny: day in Philly I decided to go to Atlantic City with DD Lindsay princess: . While going over the Betsy Ross Bridge, I heard a noise like I drove over something. As we got to the bottom of the bridge, I was hearing other weird noises so I pulled over to the side of the bridge/road and discovered I had a flat tire. I called AAA but didn't know exactly where to tell them I was. I was a little nervous waiting for them. Anyway, about 65 minutes later they found me and changed my tire. We ended up going to Cherry Hill Mall instead. Tomorrow, I'll have to buy a new tire. I don't even have 6000 miles on my car yet. :sad2:

Question for anyone who owns Disney timesharing - how is it different than owning timeshares at other places? I own in the Poconos and Myrtle Beach and exchange each year for the Kissimmee area. Thanks.

Disney uses a point based system. You get an allotted amount of poiints a year (min buy in from Disney is 150 points) Different times of the year, different resorts, Sunday-thursday less points than Friday and saturday, different sized units all cost different amount of points. You can get a studio on low season at OKW Sun-Thurs for as low as 8 points a night.... all the way up 158 points for a Grand Villa at the BoardWalk Villas for ONE saturday night over Christmas. Most are in between <grin>

You can bank and or borrow points from one year to another... so if you only want to hit the World every other year you can bank your 150 to the next year and book a stay using 300 points...

The DVC board here on the DIS is great.... The FAQ at the top of the fourm is filled with great info.

Things didn't go quite according to plan today, so it looks as though we will keep our Fort Wilderness ressie for August. The only cabin that was available to sleep four people was a cat. 4 and the price was just way too much for me. I can be very frugal at times, and this was one of those times. LOL!!!

We're still looking forward to our stay at Fort Wilderness!!! :cool1:

We are thinking about staying in the cabins at Ft Wilderness posiblely for spring break 2006... 3 or 4 days there then 4 or 5 days at BCV....

Even though it isnt your first choice... it is still a great choice! :cool1:

Today I booked this cruise, without the knowledge of my DH or my DD who will be especially thrilled about being on the boat once again with Victoria. My name is Lynn, my husband is Pete (PapaBro) and my daughter, Mary and we are also on the 8/20/05 Repositioing cruise with many cruisers from this cruise as well. I've always wanted to do a double scoop of Castaway Cay and the week is perfect since it's before school starts. I just couldn't wait until August to book as that was my original plan. Yipppeeee......another cruise to plan for, another countdown clock to start !!!

:wave2: Hi Lynn--Welcome Aboard the Cruisin' Castaways 2006 Cruise!!! It's cool you are joining us on this cruise, seems like quite a few of the "Ship of Fools" cruisers will be sailing on this cruise as well!!!

Andy

I got lucky with member services today (get your minds out of the gutter- lol)
Called about the 25% DVC cash discount and got VWL for Aug 19-21
no changing for us now - we'll be at the VWL Aug 13-19 on pts then staying in the Villas Aug 19-21 on cash - before switching to the BCV for another 6nights
Aug here we come! Jon & I have started sitting outside to work on our tans - and Im dragging his butt around the "gerbil track" w/me too

WELCOME LYNN!

We are on the repo cruise with you. I hope Mary and Sandra can get to know each other. That would be so fun!

Your sneaky.... But I will fess up... I havent told DH about the cruise either. I did read him a post about how much a cruise went up for this one DISer who had booked months ago... The price was up $3400 bucks since they booked... I figure I will tell him next spring, and also let him know the price increase.... it will soften the blow!

So glad your aboard!!!

AND...

I changed my siggy... I really wanted to add a countdown for Disneyland so I had to bump the cruise countdown.

Thankfully this thread is around and a lot of you have countdowns!! :flower:

Thanks for the welcome aboards, Andy, Darlene, Laura and Oxfordite! I'm sneaky but not that sneaky. The minute my husband walked in the house I confessed. I said "I did a crazy thing today, hon". He said "what now?" Hey, I resemble that remark !!! LOL I showed him the cruise receipt for the down payment and he just smiled and said "When?" Gotta love that man......gotta love him.....
