Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

I would appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers for my family over the next few days. My (step)dad passed away Monday evening and my mom and youngest brother Pete won't be able to get back home until Friday, which leaves my brother Chuck and I in charge of making all the final arrangements. I was up until 3am this morning working on the obituary as we have a 2pm appointment today with funeral director. For those who didn't know, my dad suffered a heart attack late last week, and quickly went downhill from there.

Andy, I hope everything goes as well as it can, today. We're thinking of you. :grouphug:

Is anyone interested in linking our reservations so we are on the same dining rotation? We did this last August and it was a blast. It was great for the kids to see each other at dinner, and was a nice way to check in each evening.
HELLO :wave2:
Haven't been over here for a little bit. Trying to read through the thread to see what I may have missed. Looks like alot!

Robin, have you had a response about linking dinner ressies? It was a great idea last year. Unfortunately our table buddies will not be sailing with us on this cruise (see you on the repo!). We would definately like to link with you all.

We'll be on board booked on the PC Repo and plan to be on the Med Repo next August. This cruise DH, DS(16) and myself will be accompanied by my Mom -- her first Disney Cruise.

I was looking for some info on privately arranging an excursion -- I saw a few links however they look like it's to join a group. I was trying to see if it was possible to find someone reputable that can be flexible to our needs. I'm trying to contingency plan -- Mom's only cruise experience was the Princess British Isles which I helped her arrange-- thinking it was a great way to see England. What they were met with was unbelievable culture shock when it came to accessibility and attitudes of fellow tourists that seemed quite rude if they didn't move fast enough. I'm hoping to comfortably drive her to the ruins and around a bit at Costa Maya if she's not up to walking much; and if it's to much she can call it a day; not feeling as she's putting anyone out.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd appreciate them. Thanks.

:welcome: To the group ! I am sure someone from the group would have some good suggestions for you. Tina

How did your test go today?

Darlene

Both tests went fine today, I'll get the results from all of the tests next week when I see my regular doctor. Next Tuesday I get to have the fun of being attached to a heart monitor for 24 hours. Yippee. LOL Thanks for asking :)

Regarding linking reservations:

I honestly have NO IDEA if I'm linked with anyone yet! LOL All it says on my paperwork is that we're linking with "Brown" which is basically our other cabin, with the boys in it. lol I'd love to be linked with everyone! I know that Doreen and many of us have already expressed an interest in being linked together :) That's why I have listed on Page 1, in addition to our names and kids ages, there is also which seating each of us have. We're on the late seating! Does anyone know how we can all link together? Do we need each other's reservation numbers?? I don't mind making the phone calls to DCL... But since I've booked through a TA, will they (DCL) let me call this in myself, or will I (we) all need to contact our TAs with this info?? :confused3 If anyone has done this before and knows the answers, please let us know. Thanks! :grouphug:

bridgemanva: WELCOME ABOARD!!!!! :grouphug: I'll be more than happy to add you to our list of cruisers, on Page 1! :sunny:

Andy: :grouphug: Our thoughts are with you. :wizard: :wizard:

RobinMarie: Alot of people have already linked...........Do you have 2nd seating or first? I think once the final payment is due we should start to see more of who is and who isn't going on this cruise. We really can get everyone together who wants to be.

Terry: With all that you have going on in May............I don't blame you one bit for just wanting to relax on Castaway instead of going fishing. Alot of us are more then ready for this cruise. :boat: How about I make the deadline for May 19th? You can choose to mail it before you go or when you come back from WDW. I think I just wrote what you suggested. :rotfl2:

Tomorrow I am booking the romance package and I was wondering what night to book Palo's. Can someone tell me if I have this correct?
Monday- Formal
Wednesday- Pirate night
Thursday-Semi-formal

I was also thinking about Palo brunch. 2nd sea day? :confused3

Terry: One day I had called DCL about something and they mentioned about how many people I was cruising with? I am linked with I think 10 other people. :rotfl2: Yes you do need other people's reservations numbers. I had thought you did it, so it must have been Doreen. Now with me being able to make reservations 105 days out and trying to get the dining rotation I wanted ............I wonder how that will effect my fellow linkers? :confused3 :rotfl: Anybody know the answer to that one?

Hey Tina, we must've been posting at the same time! :teeth:

I think you have the days correct... I know that the usual Western itinerary is exactly how you have it listed (of course with the changes of Castaway Cay for Key West on Sunday, and Costa Maya for Grand Cayman on Tuesday), and I don't see where the Special Western would be any different, as far as which nights formal and semi-formal and pirate night would be. It'll be cool to read all the details when the first Special Western cruisers get back at the beginning of June! :teeth:

May 19th sounds great for mailing out the cruise packages, maybe I'll even be able to pick up a few Disney items while I'm at Disney World the week before. :)

I'm up for brunch at Palo on any day, so the second sea day sounds great to me. :thumbsup2

Ok, we were posting at the same time AGAIN :teeth:

You might be right, I sort of remember a LONG time ago, someone linking a bunch of us together.... Was it Doreen, and did I give her my reservation number?? :scratchin I'll have my TA call DCL to find out for sure, but I'm going to wait a couple of days because I think most of the TAs who are familiar with DCL are probably really busy right now with the Med. cruise bookings and the Free Dining Deal at Disney world. :smooth:

I like that term "fellow linkers"! :teeth:

Well,

I miss a day or two and the forum takes off again.
Well I'm certain I've havent linked with anyone yet.
I suspect a group did it when this thead was first started, but us later arrivals,( only been posting for last year) lol, are not yet linked.

We are doing the early seatings, so if a list has been linked for that group, count us in.

Ed

Thanks to Doreen who told me where to find this on the DCL site, I'm able to see exactly who is linked with me, for the late seating. I'm taking this right off of the DCL web page where I've entered my reservation info and pulled up my account.

Here are the people who I'm already linked with, on late seating (I've removed everyone's last name due to the sake of privacy):

ME (SeaSpray)
(SeaSprays family:
JOHN,
ROBERT,
CRAIG)

BEVERLY (mickeysmom)
(mickeymom's family members:
ESTER,
HARLEY,
LINDSAY)

DOREEN (ReenieNY)
(ReenieNYs family members:
MARTIN,
JACLYN,
DANIEL)

KAREN (KAP)

DORI (Elliotfan)
(Elliotfan's DS DEVIN)

TINA (castoff)
(castoff's DH CHARLES)

ANYONE ELSE who has late seating and wishes to link with us, is more than welcome to join us! Post here if you're interested and we'll see what we have to do to link you with us :grouphug:

Ed, you're right, this was done a LONG time ago, probably a year and a half ago, when we first booked this cruise!

All of the early diners who want to link can post here too, and someone can make the call to get all the reservations linked :)

Terry: I have to know how you can find that info on DCL site? Are all those people for 2nd seating? No wonder a while back when I called DCL they asked how many people I was sailing with. :rotfl2: Still the question I have is if one person requests a certain dining rotation does that person get it and the fellow linkers also get it? ::yes:: stay tuned fellow Diser's I will call DCL and try to get the answer. :thumbsup2

I am soooo confused ! I just talked with DCL again and got 2 totally different answers today. :confused3 1st- If I put in a special request for my dining it doesn't mean my fellow linkers would get it also. Each reservation would have to follow suite.

I was told earlier today of different times I would have 8:00, 8:15. 8:30
I was now told only one time................So I put in a request for 8:00

I was also told earlier the Pirate party would be the night of Costa Maya and I was trying to have dining in Parrot Cay that night. Now I was just told they don't know when it will be? :confused3

Andy: So very sorry to hear about your loss! My thoughts go out to you and your family! Take Care!

Terry: Thanks for all your work you do to keep us organized!

As for the exchange...Sounds like a lot of fun & I would love to join in but with everything I have going on right now, I can barely pay my bills on time. In fact I should be doing them right now but I am procrastinating again!

Welcome to any new cruisers & I hope everyone is doing well!

Diane

Tina: When you go to the DCL web site, do this:

Click on "My Disney Cruise"

then "My Online Check-In"

then "Retrieve Reservation"

then enter your Confirmation number and birthday, click "Continue" (you may also have to Log In at this point, giving your email address and password)

On this next page, scroll down until you see all the people on your reservation listed; there will be an option to click on the "Payment Authorization" form. Click on that; Scroll down and you'll see everyone who is associated with your reservation :)

Terry: Thanks that's neat. If someone is not careful when filling out that form can you see somebody getting authorized for alot of peoples charges? :rotfl2:

Diane: Thanks for letting me know about the exchange. I understand........Your talking to somebody who STILL needs to get her airline tickets for this cruise. :rolleyes1

ED: I know Linda ( zack&alexmom ) has first seating and they have a DS-8 and a DD- 6. :goodvibes
