OK, so I'm dense. I still can't figure it out. All I want to know is how many points I would need to rent for BCV next August for 2 weeks. The point calculator doesn't like me. Is my request unheard of? Am I asking too much.

I would appreciate any and all informed help.

Thanks, Kathy

What size room? Studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom. That will determine number of points needed.

I will be happy to figure it for you, but I need some info. August (on VWL charts, which I believe are the same), is split between Dream & Magic Season, so I need exact dates. Also, studio, 1 BR, or 2 BR?

the BCV is not on the points calculator - yet -

August 1-15 for a studio Sun-thru is 14, Fri/Sat 32 - so a week is 134.

August 16-31 for a studio Sun-thru is 13, fri/sat 29 - so a week is 123.

this is 2002 and 2003 points chart

so arriving on Sunday Aug 18,2002 and leaving on Aug 30, 2002
is 123+65=188 points

or same arrive but leaving on August 31,2002
217 points.

give me more information - like your arrival and departure days and your size unit if you want more information

Thanks for all those very fast replys.

My exact dates are August 17 (Sunday) through August 31 (Sunday)...15 days, 14 nights. I will need a two bedroom unit.

Thanks again...

$6,000 would go a long way towards a deposit for your own DVC points. You might want to consider it especially if you are talking about next August (2003?)

Agreed, you can also cut out about 144 points by staying 12 nights with arrival Sunday and departure Friday. That's a big chunk difference.

Yes, you could buy half the amount of points you would need for the two bedroom, then use this years and next years points for the trip. Your purchase price would only be a third of your rental cost. I think that calculation is right.

If u were planning to have the same type of trip every other year, it would have paid for itself after only three trips.

You know, I really hadn't considered purchasing, but what you all said makes perfect sense. You have given me much to think about....

Thanks again
