as being from california, same-sex marige is not "illegal", it will just not be called a marige, domestic partners still have the same rights and benefits, the only reason this bill was passed was that same-sex marige was to not be taught in elementary schools.

I'm from california too...And a civil union is nothing like a marriage...They don't have all the rights married people do. Same sex marriage was never going to be taught in schools as marriage is never taught in California schools except in health class in high school! It wouldn't have been required for it to be taught. You can even ask teachers they say they never teach about marriage. At any level. And the bill wasn't passed because of close minded people who thing gay marriage will lead to other "strange" practices.

Here's a question, what if, instead of your kid asking you "mommy, why does this boy have two daddies" when they are 6, he/she says to you when they are 15 "mommy, i think i have a crush on a a boy/girl in my class and i don't know what to do..."
THEN what will you do?!?!?! Will you disown your child and tell them that they are disgusting and going to hell? Would you want them to be miserable for the rest of their life? Would you be happy with them not having the same right as you o to be with the person they love forever, in a legal sense (therefore getting tax breaks and being able to start a family)

You say you have other reasons, but I have failed to see ANYONE mention their reason other than "religious reasons" or "it's gross/wrong". There are those of us who don't believe in Adam and Eve AT ALL, why should we have to live by YOUR standards???

I'm sorry to get so worked up about this, but I just CANNOT let this go, because I CANNOT begin to understand how it would have a negative effect on your life one way or another.

I do see what you are saying. I am a christian, and in my faith I believe marraige should be left between a man and a woman. If my child did become gay I would not disown them at all. I would feel happy that at that age they were able to talk to me about such a deep subject as that. I would support them in anyway I could, and still love them with all my heart. In the end I would still disagree with their lifestyle, and be sad that they may not be able to join me in heaven one day, but in no way shape or form would I ever disown, or bash them. Especially at that age, where their self confidence is really fragile to beging with.

I am really getting sick of being attacked for everything I have been saying today. It is my opinion. I am allowed to have one. It is my beliefs, I am allowed to have those too. You are allowed to have them too. I am honestly ready to leave all this. My beliefs are that it is a sin, and goes against what the bible says. I don't think you can be a true christian, and know you are sinning. It is just what I believe. I don't have a problem with people living the life they want to live at all, it is just something I do not agree with.

Everybody does sin. I am not denying that at all. I also believe God loves everybody, even the screw up mass murders lol. I do believe that being gay is also a sin though, don't get mad at me for this. It was how I was raised, and is what I believe. I don't think people should be able to ask for forgiveness for sinning, but continue to sin. Thats my problem with it.

God hates all sin, and doesn't see one over another as worse. Frankly we all mess up. I'm not saying gays/lesbians WONT go to heaven, because that isn't my decision, but I do know, in my faith that, it is a sin.

I wasn't trying to attack you. I was just stating that even though I'm a christian too there really is no proof that it is a sin. My youth group did a whole lesson on that. I was raised to believe it was a sin too but with further research I've found nothing to prove that it states it is a sin. The bible says divorce is a sin, yet many many many christian men a woman divorce for reasons not specified in the bible as being okay. The being gay as a sin thing is similar to the if you commit suicide you go to hell thing. Neither are provable. But I take offence to the true christian sining thing. I know that I sin. But I do honestly believe I'm a true Christian. I want boys I can't have, and i can almost garrentee every teenager has wanted someone they can't have and if i recall envying someone elses "property" is a sin. SO there fore I knowingly sin on occasion.

I put the first part in, so you will understand the text better. He let them have their impurites because they were disobedient to God. They will/were punished for this.

I'm not going to give my opinion on it, but it was a vote. Some people agreed and voted yes, but some disagreed and voted no.

I am not trying to get under anybody's skin, and I am sorry if I am. Personally, I wanted McCain to win. Now that didn't happen, but that's not the point.

Here's a comment on the other ca props.
Prop 1A passed which was the high-speed rail bond. This is going to be really cool because it would enable us to go from LA to San Francisco in under two hours! And also it would take more people off the freeways which is definitely becoming an issue.
I don't understand why Prop 2 passed which had to do with animal confinement policy. It's just going to raise livestock prices and make it harder for people to get by in this economic slump.
