I know they want business casual, but in 97 degree heat that's going to be tough. We have reservations at 6pm and would like to go to MK afterwards so a dress for me and long pants for DH do not seem appealing right now. We are staying at BCV so it is a long trek back to change into shorts. Can DH wear docker shorts and sneakers with a 3 button down Izod shirt and can I wear a nice top and shorts and sneakers?

We just ate at Cali Grill and I had the same question. I called Disney dining and they said, no bathing suits, no tank tops. DH wore a hawaiian shirt and a pair of shorts and I wore a sun dress. Most people there were wearing shorts. Dinner was incredible!

We had the same concern. We wore shorts and collared shirts. We were a little over dressed for some of the patrons. Shorts and a shirt with sleeves are fine.

Officially, except for Victoria and Albert, there are no restaurants with a formal dress code. Park Casual is the accepted mode of dress. As a general rule this tends to mean no swimsuits and, at the non-park restaurants, no men with "muscle shirts".

Certain restaurants (such as CG, Narcoossee's and Bistro de Paris), which put on an upscale showing, say that "Business Casual" is recommended, but I have never heard of people neatly dressed with T-Shirt, jeans shorts and sandals being turned away.

I think this is especially true as there are people who are coming directly from a park (or, in the case of Bistro are in a park) who cannot change. Let's say someone without a car was staying at AKL, was at MK, and had a reservation at Narcoossee's. Two choices. One is to get the yacht from MK to GF, which lets them off almost at the door to Narcoossee's - Time about 15 minutes. Otherwise Otherwise bus back to AKL, get to room to change (possibly showering first), bus back to MK and the boat to GF - Time over an hour.

Sometimes they refer to it as "Smart Casual" Neat looking clothes, shirts tucked in, unless they're meant to be worn Untucked. Absolutely NO Flip Flops, Tank Tops or bathing suits are permitted in these restraunts.

So yes, Shorts, a nice top and sneaks are fine.

We just got back and ate our best meal of the trip at CG! DH wore shorts and a polo shirt and I wore capris and a top. ENJOY!:earsgirl:

We ate their last week. I wore capris and a polo and DH wore docker shorts and a polo. Believe me there were people much more casual than that. I was surprised since it was our first time eating there.
