California Grill or Coral Reef.....

California Grill I think.

We've eaten at Coral Reef twice and neither time felt blown away by the food. There always something about each dish that was too overpowering, like the buttery richness of the Mahi Mahi or the weird salty tartness of the catfish. We also found that iwas very loud and we had to wait over 30mins to be seated each time even though we had early ADRs.

California Grill on the other hand was an absolute pleasure. Even though my fiance didn't enjoy her swordfish too much (not a big fan of balsamic, not sure why she ordered it) we both really enjoyed the entire experience. Not to mention I proposed that night so maybe it has a special little something for us.

My favorite restaurant (for now) is California Grill. Everything that we ate from appetizers to dessert was GREAT! They really have something for everyone. The staff is amazing, the bartenders were hysterical, food was great and NOTHING beats the view.

If you do go try the flatbreads... YUMMO (oh and the chocolate & cherry cake is to DIE FOR)

Ca Grill. Reasons: Better food, more sophisticated and eclectic menu choices, decent wine selection, better service, outstanding food presentation, knowledgable and professional wait staff, very good sushi.

Amps;24849711,
Congratulatons! I'm so happy for both of you!

Thanks for the opinions on the coral and Cali!

Apples to oranges IMO. California Grill while albeit crazy and loud is still technically a fine dining experience. The chefs are extrememly skilled at what they do, present wonderful ingredients and more unique and IMO upscale food combos. The sushi is out of the world- not to mention the cheese course and the wines.
This is not to say Coral Reef is bad- it's just not the same league foodwise and to me that is more important.

California Grill--for all the reasons already stated, not to mention that fine view!!
