Hi everyone, does anyone know if food can be ordered in the California Grill lounge and if so at fireworks time can you still use the viewing deck?

You can order food and use the viewing deck.

We did this recently. You'll probably want to get to the lounge early, as it can get busy. We got there sometime between 5:30 and 6 pm and there was only one table left in the lounge. You can come back to the viewing deck to watch the fireworks. For us, it took a while to get our food. By the time we were done, it was around 7:30. The elevator operator recommended that we return to the viewing deck by 8:30. We just walked around the Contemporary for a few minutes and went back up to the viewing deck around 8:00. I wasn't paying attention, but 8:30-8:45 is probably when you would want to return to the viewing deck.

You can full menu, and I've only done it late at night, but it's been a breeze if you're ok with later dining. Sounds like super early would work too!

They give you an abbreviated menu. But you can order anything from the full menu (although we didn't).

You can order from the full CG menu in the lounge and go outside to see the fireworks, but many have the same idea so it can get crowded, especially just before fireworks. If that happens, the hosts/hostesses will not let anyone without a reservation go up so it is better to plan an early visit. Save your receipt and you will be able to go back up later the same evening to view the fireworks.
