California Grill and the DDP Questions

We are planning a trip for early next December and are planning to use the regular Dining Plan. We are starting the trip on my DD birthday and she wants to go to the California Grill for her birthday dinner. I understand that it is a two table service credit restaurant. I do have a couple of questions:

1. What are considered to be entrees? Are the sushi and or flat-breads considered to be appetizers or entrees? I am a little confused on this point.

2. If we wanted to get a couple of appetizers to share around the table, would that be an out of pocket cost? If so, could we use an AP discount on these?

3. My stepson and his wife sometimes share meals while at WDW (she is a diabetic and is not a big eater at all). Would they be able to share a meal on the Dining plan for only two credits?

4. How does alcohol work. Would we be able to get one drink per two table service credited meals?

5. How is the restaurant with substitutions? We will probably be a party of 8 and have a couple of picky eaters.

Any help would be appreciated.

I can help with a few of these.

Everyone 21 and older will get ONE alcoholic drink with their meal.

With the regular DDP, any apps you order will be OOP and you should be able to use the AP discount if one is available at CG.

Yes, anyone can share. They would get one entree, one dessert and one drink.
