I've read several negative posts about the dining choices at CA. But we'll have to eat there at some point! (3 adults, 3 picky kids)

So what do you like??

We are already doing ARiel's breakfast.

We only ate at award weiners on that side. Was good and easy to eat on the go.

We also tried schmoothies (hated it) and the rootbeer floats at the ice cream shack as you walk up the peir (so Yummy!)

Taste Pilot Grill: Ribs, Pacific Wharf: Broccoli Soup in Breadbowl

We like Taste Pilot's Grill and Lucky Fortune Cookery. We're a half vegetarian/half non-vegetarian family so we're especially hard to please. :)

We did the WoC dinner at Ariel's last week and were not impressed with any of the food. Everything was kinda "meh". Honestly, the salad was the best part, imo (I'm one of the non-veggies). We won't do this meal again.

The Princess breakfast is worth it only for the characters (food is ok), but it's been over a year since we did the breakfast.

By far my favorite place to eat while in CA is White Water Snacks. It is only a few steps inside the Grand Californian entrance and has a ton of choices. My favorite is the icee with free refills (I am an icee freak) and the beef nachos.

Although, when I was there last week they were out of beef :confused3

But still great different choices for adults and kids!!

The soups and salads in bread bowls at the Pacific Wharf Cafe are really good, filling and a relatively good deal. :thumbsup2

The mexican restaurant at the wharf is very yummy! Cocina Cucamonga I think its called? DH and I ate there twice on our last visit. Good portion sizes too. I've heard it the same food as Rancho Del Zocalo over at DL.

Our number one choice in DCA is WWS in GC.

Chicken nachos (almost everything on the side)

Hot Dog with fries (chili on the side)

DD11 and I shared the chicken sandwich and upgraded to onion rings at Taste Pilots Grill and it was pretty good. The onion rings were delish!

BBQ Chicken Sandwich-Taste Pilots has a condiment bar with all the fixins.

Haven't eaten at Award Wieners but I hear good things about it.

Finally tried Cocina Cucamonga Mexican Grill recently for the first time. My experience wasn't great. I had to return my Fire Grilled Citrus Chicken - 1/2 Chicken seasoned in a savory marinade of cumin, garlic, cilantro, lemon and lime served with warm flour tortillas. $13.49 since the chicken wasn't served hot. I returned it to the window and they replaced it with another lukewarm chicken. :scared1: On the 3rd attempt they finally gave me a hot one. The CM at the window said the temp was around 175. I said, on the returned one, he said no, on the new one. What was the temp on the returned one? About 115! Too scary. Next time I want chicken I'll get the 1/2 fried at Plaza Inn.

Soon there will some new choices in DCA. I imagine the new Pizza Pasta place will be similar to Pizza Port (hopefully) If so there should be some good choices there.

I haven't been to Wine Country Trattoria since they reopened with new menu mostly because they got rid of my favorite thing there, the Pizzetta Salad. So now we make it at home.;)

Also, it literally only takes a few minutes to cross over from DCA to DL. So if you don't see something you like at DCA you can go into DL. Perhaps for the Fried chicken at Plaza Inn?

Ask for double mashed potatoes. The green beans are never any good.:confused3

We like the Mexican place, too. But the deal of the century is ordering two kids' steaks from GCH room service for the boys, then an appetizer and soup/salad/entree and all four of us share it.

DH really liked the cheeseburger at Taste Pilots...but I think other than that, the only "food" we bought in DCA was a strawberry margarita and a hot apple cider (so so good!)

We usually don't eat much, and when we do we're on the DL side becuase we spend a LOT more time over there.

I agree with others. My faves are taste pilots grill and the mexican restaurant near the pier, Cocina Cucmonga, I like their chicken soft tacos monterey, good portions and tasty!

We have never tried Ariel's either, but I have heard good reviews of it. Our family LOVES Wine Country Trattoria (well, mostly DH and I :rotfl:). But the kids really like Taste Pilots and Pizza O Mow Mow, although I am pretty sure the last one is no longer around :sad2:. We also love to go through the Tortilla factory and get those freshly made tortillas :cloud9:. Good luck!

I love the loaded fries at Taste Pilots grill. Everything else on this platter was for my dh.

I also really enjoyed our WOC meal at Wine Country Trattoria. I did not enjoy my meal at Ariels grotto.

Thank you for your review on WOC @ Ariel's Grotto - I am thinking getting the fast passes first thing at Grizzly River Run will be the way to go.

O.K.... that's it... I am SO getting the loaded fries! Thanks for the pics!! (I think... am not in DL and feel like I am starving for those fries! ;) )

What? Everything else was for your hubby? Are you telling me you didn't sneak ONE onion ring? ;) They look just as good as the ones at Hungry Bear - do you know if they are the same type of onion rings??

Ooooh... another naysayer for Ariel's Grotto - looks like the fastpass will be the way to go for sure. Thanks for confirming that. What was wrong with the dinner meal at Ariel's, do you mind my asking? Thanks! :)
