Caleb's Wish trip!

I understand how frustrating it is to have to wait that 40 days. Some tests take a long time, probably because they are done in several steps.

The doctor probably just wanted to make you aware of it so you wouldn't be expecting the results sooner and worrying when you didn't get a call.

I'm keeping my fingers (and my toes) crossed for Caleb!! :goodvibes

Kathy

I got the sweetest PM this morning asking us to be part of the big give! I feel so incredibly honored! And excited!!!:yay:
Thanks ladies!

OK...dumb question ahead!!!
What is MNSSHP?
I read some people going to this...and do I understand you need tickets??
I am lost!:confused3

You crack me up. Dumb question ahead...like a warning sign!

:)

MNSSHP is the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It is held in September and October. It is a hard ticket event. (which means you have to buy a separate ticket to get in the park for the party)

But...you are not going during those times...so you won't be able to buy a ticket to MNSSHP. Unfortunately...because it is a fun party!

You will have to go back one day and go during a time when you can go to the party...because it is fun! :) Lots and lots and lots of candy and cool character interaction.

Oh thank you sooo much Maroo! I was thinking it was like a parade or something since it was at night!

Well we still don't have flight times...so this might change...but here is my 1st draft trip plans!

Sat: arrive in Orlando
go to GKTW
check into villa and unload
lunch there (depending on flight time)
explore GKTW and attend orientation
Do a Wal-Mart run for snacks
go to DTD for some shopping
try and get to bed early for a busy day ahead!!

Sorry....I hit post before I was done!!

Sun:

up early and head to MK hopefully by rope drop!
lunch there
hopefully see parades and lots of characters!

Mon:

characters at GKTW @ 8 & 9
Universal studios
probably a short day!

Tues:

up early for a busy day!
AK and DHS

Wed:

Up early for another long day
EP

Thurs:

characters @ GKTW 9 & 9 (hopefully not same characters as on Monday!)
IOA
home early for Christmas @ GKTW

Fri:

return home...not sure flight time...so might could squeeze in Sea World.

I haven't planned any ADR's yet.....not sure we will!
And I haven't really planned any places that we just HAVE to eat!
So any suggestions would be appreciated!

Ohana sounds neat. And Earl of Sandwich sounds delish (@ DTD)
Caleb just wants to meet Goofy. I have seen him in people's pics @ GKTW. So I hope we see him there!

Thanks Maroo for your helpful spread sheet! That's what helped me come up with these plans!
Now that we have some plans...I am even more excited!!!:yay:

Those plans sound great! :) I really like the DTD idea on that first night. That way you can get some of that in and not use any tickets! :) We went to DTD, but it took up a morning.

Sounds awesome!

Ask one of the folks that have recently been...but the other day when I was there it was Mickey and Minnie in the theater (that will be the same Mon and Thurs) and then Pluto, Goofy and Belle were out on the main area concrete just greeting everyone. The GKTW people will take your pictures here and you will get those.

Don't know if the three that were there will change or not? :confused3

It would be cool for Sea World if you just went and fed the dolphins (and stingrays, if that is your thing!) They really try to make sure the Wish child and family have a good experience there! :)

WOW....Scooby and Shaggy???? My kids LOVE them!
That would be too cool!
Maybe I should do and ADR with goofy then.....just to make sure we get to see him!

OK I have another silly question!! :confused3

Can you park hop from every park TO every park??
How ? By monorail?
How long does it take to get from 1 park to the next? (approx?)

Thanks for your help!!

From MK to Epcot - one quick monorail trip. TIP: This is a GREAT time to ride in the front of the monorail because it takes you over all of Epcot and lets you see lots of stuff. Plus, if it is the middle of the day, the monorail is not so crowded. :)

From Epcot to MK - one quick monorail trip (same monorail as above).

From MK to AK - sorta complicated. You would have to get back to your car, which means a monorail ride to your car (parked at the transportation and ticketing center (TTC)), possibly a tram ride to get to your car (if parked far away - but your button should get you close parking). This would take about 15 min once you get your car. Then you would unload at AK and take the tram, etc.

From MK to DHS - same as above, really...just go to DHS instead of AK.

From Epcot to AK - you would park at Epcot - just go get your car and then go to AK parking. You should be close, so not too bad. It is a fairly short drive (10 min maybe?) or less?

From Epcot to DHS - same as Epcot to AK, except you go to DHS. It is a short drive, too.

AK to DHS - just get your car and drive...probably 10 min drive.

*** Note, you can also take a bus from one park to another if you plan to come back. But this may take longer. And you might not want to ride the bus? Seems faster to me to drive. Especially since you should be in medical parking.

The only park hopping I would not recommend is MK to AK or MK to DHS (and vice versa). But most people spend one full day at MK anyway.

Thanks again Maroo! You are da bomb!!! (ha ha)
We plan to hop from AK to DHS. SO we will just drive!

oh yeah! that is actually the easiest transition...AK and DHS are close to each other and easy to get to the parking lot of each one, etc. :)

GREAT!!! :thumbsup2

And we got our flight info today!
Kinda sad....I was hoping we got there earlier and left later!!

We land at 2:30 Saturday...and depart at 3:25 Friday.

But I am just glad to have the info...makes it seems even more real!!
65 more days!!

Well I decided to try and get an ADR....not any luck! :sad1:
I tried for either breakfast at Tusker House or Chef Mickey.
Or dinner at Chef Mickey. (since he loves Goofy and Mickey)

I wondered if I told them it was his Wish trip would help??
I didn't try....kinda feel guilty about doing that!

Certainly would not hurt to tell them! :) If they can help you, I am sure they would!

You can also call each day...as people book their trips, they tend to move stuff around...so they can come open, too.

Don't feel bad about telling folks on the phone that you are on a Wish Trip. This is his one and only Wish Trip. I know that he is on the front end of his struggle...but this is his one chance for a trip like this. He certainly deserves the trip, as you all do, for what he has been going through so far. But his trip is sort of a pay-it-forward sort of trip.

Enjoy this for him and "play" those cards to get him the best experience that you can! And don't feel bad! :) :) :)

Also...we just "showed up" at Chef Mickey's one morning (actually, I think we called that morning) and they let us eat! So...you could always continue to call even up till the very last minute.

Also...if you don't want to pay to do the dinner...He WILL get to meet Goofy and Mickey at GKTW and probably in the parks, too!! And you don't have to wait in the character lines at the parks, either. You might want to save the money. :thumbsup2

People change/cancel their ADRs all the time ('specially 'round here!), so I would keep trying....

Good Luck!

I remember reading you called that morning and got in! We might just keep trying!

I actually asked Caleb if he wanted to eat with the characters and he no, not really....but the girls really wanted to....so either way will be OK!

I hate to spend over $100 for a meal...but this is once in a lifetime...right???
