Anyone have experience with nut allergies at this location?

I was looking for actual experiences. It helps to know how trained the staff is and if they take allergies seriously. I know they’re trained by Disney but not owned by Disney so it’s a bit more risky.

Our kids are ok with made in facility products and fortunately their allergies are not airborne (have safely eaten at WDW for over a decade with just a couple of minor incidents).

Visited Cake Bake for the first time a few days ago. I only wanted a cup of coffee. For those of you who dislike Joffrey's (as I do), let me assure you....their coffee is wonderful! Got an Americano each morning of my visit and enjoyed it!

Did you get your coffee to-go at the Bakery or drink a cup while relaxing seated in the Restaurant?

Got it to go. I think it’s probably hard to get into the restaurant without a reservation.

The bakery was pretty much empty all three days I went in to get coffee in the morning. I didn’t go in super early. Probably between 8 and 9 AM.

So went to cake Bake Shop for dinner tonite. We were planning to order the pick 2 where you select half sandwich and a soup or salad but this option is not available for dinner. Our server explained it was removed from dinner menu since several additional entries were added and also that the order 2 half items was more work for kitchen/servers. My mother ordered the onion soup which was barely warm. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich which came with the salad which I didn’t like at all. The server says a lot of this salad is thrown out. The decor is beautiful and the service is good but not planning to go back. Visited the bakery after dinner purchased 2 slices of cake which came out to $51.08. The person who takes your order doesn’t slice the cake for you as it’s all pre-sliced and in boxes behind counter than they want a tip of 20-23%…I really think this is ridiculous since they aren’t really doing anything for you. The young lady simply handed the 2 boxes of cake to another person who rings it up and they charge $1.99 for a bag if you want one. The shop now has a selection of Christmas cakes and pies including a peppermint choc cake, a gingerbread cake, and Yule cake. They no longer have the millionaire cake or the mint chip cake, or apple pie.
Just want to mention that Gideon’s cake slices are really good and Steakhouse 71 has a fabulous huge slice of chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and they are way less expensive than the Cake bake shop….

That is good news!

I don’t know if we’ve gotten more picky or Joffrey’s has gone way down hill but man, that coffee was water last month. We tried a whole bunch of locations before giving up. Sad because I do remember trying some very good Joffrey’s over the years and now not one decent option left.

Thanks for the details! I was going to give up our Steakhouse71 ADR (we love the chocolate cake and the chef assured us it’s nut free) but I’m not going to trek down there if the 2 of the 3 cakes I wanted aren't going to even be on the menu. We do have DS in the morning and will try to stop by Gideons for the first time.

They have only 8 regular cake flavors. They rotate the other 4.

How to you know the expected tip percentage. Was it just the preset on the payment terminal? I see these stupid selections everywhere now, even when ordering a burger at BurgerFi or other quick service locations.

That sounds very disappointing. I have been debating whether to go when I am there next month and have decided I will as I do like the look of the venue and would like to see it. I have got lunch booked, I won’t be making any cake purchases I don’t think!

This place isn't going to make it. I have no issue spending an obscene amount of money on food and experiences, but I won't even step foot in this place based on reviews since opening. There are at least 3 better restaurants in the area that I would stop at first.

Yes the “suggested” tip amounts pop up when you slide/tap your credit card and the screen doesn’t proceed until you choose a tip amount…there is a place to select no tip.

I'm staying at BWI this weekend just to try Cake Bake. We don't have a reservation yet. Anyone who's still hesitant please cancel your ADR. Anytime between 12/13 to 12/16 would be greatly appreciated.
I see ADRs on Open table for 2 and 4; search different times

It really is beautifully decorated and very elegant…I’m glad I went but probably won’t return. The server did mention that the cake menu would change at end of month.
