My daughter and I went for tea yesterday:
Pros
* Main dining room that we walked through was beautiful.
* The side room used for tea is closed off from everything so it’s nice and quiet, easy to chat
* The tea tray allowing you to smell a variety of teas is fun.
* You can order as many pots of tea as you’d like.
* The tea tray is stunning.
* The sweets were wonderful!
* The glitter was subtle, I could barely see it.
* Our server was very nice.

Cons
* Greeter was bothered we were there.
* I had asked if we could have our tea in the main dining room but was told no, all tea is served in the side room.
* The side room was cold (literally chilly) and sterile. I can only imagine how bland it will be without a Christmas tree.
* Tea was poured into a chilly teacup. I expected a warmed cup. Hot tea became cold quickly.
* Sandwiches were ok, but nothing I’d go back for.
* Overpriced for the experience.

Will we go back? Yes, but not for tea, perhaps for lunch.

It’s really cold at WDW (and most of the country) this week. There’s no excuse for cold tea. It does seem like it’s off and on per vloggers. If tea is hot, sandwiches might be stale. Both should be perfect at this price point.

This is the 2nd time I’ve heard of tea not being the proper temperature. I shouldn’t have to but plan to ask the cup and pot be rinsed with hot water before the tea service begins.
Never heard of stale sandwiches 🤷🏽‍♀️

Went for a pre-rope drop breakfast with wife and kids. Not crowded at all. We had the Boardwalk-view outer room to ourselves. Food was excellent. We really liked the cinnamon brioche bites, blueberry crumb cake and goat cheese quiche. It was expensive but reasonable given the quality and location IMO. Even returned later for a slice of the insanely expensive cake - I selected the pumpkin chocolate cake. No regrets.

I notice in a lot of the videos and reviews that the place has not seemed very full. I wonder if they are having trouble getting waitstaff and are limiting seating.

Had a lovely breakfast! Felt it was very comparable to breakfast at Topolino’s, minus the characters of course.

I had no trouble booking on Open Table and switched to a later reservation the night before. We checked in on time and sat in the lounge and were seated about 15 minutes later. Table was for two but was very spacious which was nice after some very small two top tables earlier in the trip (looking at you Roundup Rodeo).

We had the rose cappuccino and chai tea latte, absolutely delicious and perfectly steamed milk. Delicious donut hole with each drink!

For entrees we got the broccoli quiche and eggs any style. The eggs were perfect, loved the sourdough toast, I don’t know how they cook the potatoes so perfectly (crisp outside and creamy inside). The quiche portion was massive (way bigger than it looks in photo) and was super light and fluffy with a thick crust. The arugula salad was simple but refreshing. All of the flavors were very simple but executed perfectly. They arrived about 20 minutes after we were seated.

Overall friendly service and the restaurant was maybe half full so not nearly as noisy as some of the Disney restaurants get. The rooms are all pretty separated so I think that helps with the noise compared to restaurants like GF Cafe where it can get pretty chaotic. Most of the diners were either families with kids or groups of 2-3 adult women like us. Everyone dressed for the parks of course!

Total with tip was about $75 so I think breakfast is comparable with other Disney sit down dining options (A&C, GF Cafe), and cheaper than character breakfast as it should be. I’d definitely go back for breakfast! Lunch or dinner, not so sure.

Decor for Christmas was beautiful!

Update: our party of 3 was seated in the main room directly under the carousel. It was pretty empty in there at 8 pm.

Starters: we all ordered French onion soup, and it was delicious. It came with a fresh baguette piece and salted whipped butter.

Entrees: I had the chicken salad on the croissant that came with a small salad. It was very fresh, but I could only eat half and brought the rest back to our villa. My husband and our friend both ordered the pasta dish, and they also had leftovers. My husband said his dish was "okay" and would not order it again; however, his overall opinion was that he very much liked The Cake Bake Shop.

Dessert: the 3 of us split the Mint Chocolate Chip cake. I am not a huge fan of baked goods with mint, but this was done very well. The icing and the cake were both light so we did not feel overstuffed.

Extra: our friend ordered the coconut latte. She said it was good.

After adding the tip and dividing the check by 3, it came to $62 each.

My husband and I would go back at some point.
