Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

I would love to try the bakery on our December trip but I'm curious about parking at the Boardwalk. I'm not sure that's a thing without a dining reservation.

That's a good point. Perhaps if you just tell the gate guard where you're staying and what you're doing they'll allow it. I would think by Dec that reservations would be open though

And yet, CBS isn't taking reservations.

Unless they considered a reservation walking up and putting your name in, which I wouldn't call a reservation and I certainly wouldn't expect a critic to say so either
Others made the point but since you quoted my post..
I think I quoted standard disclaimer language used by a reviewer. The reviewer paid in full for the meal. The reviewer didn't get any assistance in making their reservation. The reviewer didn't get any special treatment upon arriving in the restaurant.

In this context the term reservation would include on site reservation; putting your name on a walk up list. PP said a "paid for'' reviewer would identify himself and get immediate seating.

I understand you would have worded the disclaimer differently; probably longer and more detailed. The wording was enough to get the point across.

The food and atmosphere seems better then many posters assumed. The price and atmosphere appeals to some guests and not others. Disney has tons of restaurants. There should be different offerings available.

Since we usually only do one Signature on a trip and I already have my heart set on finally doing Flying Fish in May, I may just get cake at Cake Bake for dessert afterwards.
Flying Fish might be the best meal we’ve ever had on property. We were so surprised it was so good and I feel like no one ever talks about it! I hope you enjoy, and I hope your cake afterwards lives up to the hype.

That's a big slice of cake! Definitely can be shared! Looks rich, too. Can't wait to try in 3 weeks!
Yes, it is! This is the award-winning Earl's Court Cake. If you're doing savory food, I always recommend the Ham/Rosemary/Goat Cheese Quiche and the Chicken Velvet Soup.

Do you mean for desserts and baked goods? There is a separate bakery next door to the restaurant. You just get in line.
Just to add to the great response by @snacks you can purchase by the slice or even get a whole cake to go. Also as a reminder that the cakes are made fresh daily and don't have any preservatives so don't expect to keep them around for a week.

Do they run out? Like if we go after Epcot, can we expect cakes to be sold out?

Thank you both!

I would expect some flavors to sell out on select days. However they have not been open very long so we will have to see how the pattern develops. They do have a purpose built Commercial Kitchen off-site so maybe they will run 24/7 if demand is really, really strong.

Note: some cakes take up to 6 hours to complete.

DH and I started talking about expenses in terms of slices of cake 😂

It started with $80 fee he begrudging paid and I said well it’s just going to cost you 3 pieces of cake. It gave us a pair of rose colored glasses to view our upcoming WDW trip. Daily car rental isn’t even 2 slices of cake. Shoot, LLMP is just one slice of cake! Sometimes less lol.

After watching most of the recent video reviews, I'm actually anxious to visit. And when I compare a $24 app and a $54 entree next door at Flying Fish, I believe I'll get out of Cake Bake for less money.

I love FF and have interest in CBS but comparing the cost of an app or dessert to that of a dinner doesn’t really work for me; two different eating experiences which is what I really care about. Still however it works for you is what's important🙂.
