Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

And this was from one of the bigger critics of this restaurant. I don't know, I would probably bet on this place becoming a hit.

The main dining area features a large, ornate carousel frame beneath the rotunda, which gives off distinct whimsical-fun/upscale carnival vibes very much in tune with the theming in the Boardwalk Inn lobby and pool area. It can be seen from all around the restaurant through the many glass windows dividing the seating areas.

Agreed. Also evokes the glass mullioned walkway that connects the hotel front desk area to the hotel rooms.

Disagreeing. The article starts with the reviewer grousing about the location, design, and price point. A good 200 plus words are dedicated to those topics before the review of the meal is presented. Can’t say that I see where or how the photos were taken has anything to do with the written review’s veracity which certainly seems objective.

Disagree. This review was spot on based on my experience last night. Especially the smashed potatoes, yum!

It was also critical of some items which helps future diners to know what to avoid.

And yet, CBS isn't taking reservations.

Unless they considered a reservation walking up and putting your name in, which I wouldn't call a reservation and I certainly wouldn't expect a critic to say so either

I just looked at an e-mail from Disney Destinations and they are showing Tiffin's at the Animal Kingdom. I looked at the menu and they have a burger listed for $28, I'm thinking that the CBS isn't so out of line with other dining places at WDW. Just sayin...

I think CBS is really pretty and I'm very excited to try it, I have been waiting a long time for it to open. I will say that I do agree it would have been a good fit at GF for the afternoon tea, maybe they could just do that part of their business at the GF since they now seem to have a void in that area. I'm guessing that because they are a full service restaurant and bakery the tearoom space would not have allowed for all they offer. Whatever the reason I'm happy that they are finally open. Now they have to get something in the space that BRG occupied. Lets hope it doesn't take as long as CBS.

This is my take as well. The prices are outrageous but so is a fruit and yogurt plate at Topolino’s for $49

Yes, walking up, waiting in line and putting your name on the list is the equivalent of making your own reservation in this instance. A comped influencer would just show up when told and walk in.

Blog Mickey even posted on X when they ordered their $7 soda quipping they hoped people would read their review. Link There are plenty of bought and paid for reviewers/influencers out there but that blog doesn’t have that sort of rep.

If you follow Blog Mickey, they are very critical of Disney at times. I think this was a honest review.

Anyway, I had a delicious and enjoyable dinner in a beautiful restaurant. Its cost including dessert was similar to other Disney restaurants in the same category. I hope Cake Bake is a success, because it adds life to the Boardwalk. And I can’t wait to see it all decked out for Christmas!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. People are mentioning it seems a better fit with Grand Flo and seems out of place at Boardwalk. The flipside is it could help elevate Boardwalk. More options for the Epcot resorts is a plus!

Now I’d be even more happy if we can get something decent in the Big River Grill space. In between Blue Ribbon Corndogs and Cake Bake - a casual table service that delivers something interesting and useful.

We'll be at the BWV in 2 weeks. Have a reservation at FF, but may try the CBS as we won.t be back to the Boardwalk for a while. DW however may nix this proposal!

The cake is absolutely delicious. We have tried 5 flavors, my husband loved the raspberry champagne and millionaire cake. This is the GF mint chocolate and it’s so balanced and not overly sweet or too minty. We didn’t eat at the restaurant only got take out. It has had a line to get in most days as we checked into the boardwalk on Thursday the day it opened. I definitely don’t think this place will be closing down anytime soon as it’s delicious.

I would love to try the bakery on our December trip but I'm curious about parking at the Boardwalk. I'm not sure that's a thing without a dining reservation.

There is absolutely no way a manager provided that photo of the sad turkey sandwich.
