I`ve got a few questions about Cafe Mickey. Can we book before we go? When Is the best time to book a table there? Are the charaters there all day?
Is it worth the money?

Yes, I booked before I went. We booked for 1pm but got there about 12.45 and met LOADS of characters, was less than half full when we arrived (so had loads of time with the characters) but when we left at about 2.15 it was pretty busy.

I would definitely go back!!

So, do you think it's necessary to pre-book or could we try to walk in around noon on a Tues.?

You can pre-book or you can turn up and wait for a table. From what i know characters are there all day. I would honestly say its worth every penny :)

I'd pre book just to be sure!! Was the funnest part of my trip, so I wouldn't want to risk not getting in.

I would agree, book in advance - Cafe Mickey is one of the most popular restaurants in the whole of DLRP.

You don't have to pay in advance, you can just reserve a table.

I just called the central food booking number for my other reservations:

33-160-30-40-50

When do you think is the best time to eat there? Early in the afternoon or in the evening? How is dinner there?

It would have been fun to meet some characters if we eat there. Even if we`ve already made reservations at the character brunch at the steakhouse on sunday and lunch with the princesses on monday. maybe we should make reservation for dinner? :hm: Should we eat dinner before or after the parade? Its rather late isn`t it?

We love CM! Always have lunch there on our last day... Makes the trip more momorable. It's worth the money even tho its a little pricey but the good thing about it is that you don't have to book a character meal, the characters come to the table anyway...

We always book in advance, you can do that over the phone up to 2 months in advance or when you get to the hotel, they'll give you a ref number and you don't have to pay any money beofre hand.

I think lunch is probably better than evening unless you have an early dinner (6ish). We always book for 12.30-12.45 and it's a lovely atmosphere but not crowded.

I think it was 32 Euro per adult and 15/16 Euro per child when we went in April - but I could very well be wrong, knowing how rubbish my memory is! lol.

Anyway, we always have a meal there too (well, I say 'always' but we've only been to DLP twice and we've had dinner at Cafe Mickey both times). We booked dinner for 6.15 pm and it was good timing really. Not too busy to start off with, so the characters tend to spend a bit more time with you at the beginning. We were out of there two hours later.

I would say definitely make a booking before you go. I'd rather not be disappointed when I get there and not be able to get in. Even if you change your mind when you're there, you can always just let them know.

Adults don't have to pay a set menu price at Cafe Mickey - you can just order what you like, from the a la carte menue.

You can get an idea of the prices here -

I would never manage 3 courses at Cafe Mickey - or anywhere else for that matter I don't think!

the kids menu was 15 euros per child and the adults can order anything from the menu...

Sorry, I should've mentioned the a la carte menu as well. We always tend to go for the set menu coz by the time we order main & dessert (or starter/main - I always want the dessert), it's only that teeny bit more extra to pay to get the extra course (we're greedy that way... lol).

I just wanted to point out there's already a whole thread on Cafe Mickey here:

It has reviews and pictures, and some comments that may answer some of your questions. There's a thread for each restaurant in the 'Restaurant Reviews' sticky that I found amazingly useful when planning my trip. :goodvibes

I read in the brouchure that disney charaters are present from 12.15 - 3 pm and 7 pm - 10 pm. Is that true? Has anyone been there around 6 pm and seen any characters? We would like to eat before the parade, but I want to make sure that there are some characters at cafe mickey if we first go there.

Am not sure whether they've changed it for the summer but we were there at 6.15 (in Apr) and characters came out pretty much a few mins after that.
