We've been to WDW 3 times, and always rented a car. Each time, we have always got lost trying to make our way back to the airport! It would be an adventure, normally, but not when you're thinking you're missing your flight...!

So, this year, we are renting again but picking up and dropping off at the Dolphin. DME will work great for arrival, but because our departure is 10:30 am - I really don't want to have to be picked up at the resort at 6:30 am! I'm thinking we'll just cab it to the airport, however, there are 5 of us and all our luggage. What are the chances of getting a vehicle large enough for 5 of us at BWV? can I book a mini-van or something, or would it just be easier to get two cabs?

You say you have to leave at 6:30?? I guess that's because you are in Canada and that is considered international, right? If so, then you still need to leave enough time at MCO....so you need to be there by 7:30-8ish. Which has you leaving BW by 7ish.
It takes about 30 mins to get to MCO...which you probably already know. So, backtracking, if you need to be there by 8, then you have to leave BW by 7:30. But, if you need to be at MCO by 7:30 (3 hrs for an international flight), you need to depart from BW by 7. DME always adds an extra 30 mins to their time simply because they may have other stops to make, which will add time to the trip...and they want to err on the side of being too early rather than cutting it too close at MCO.

So...what are your options? You could take a cab. But I would recommend booking a car service. It will cost about the same. You should be able to get a vehicle large enough for your group (and luggage) for about the same price as a cab or mulitple cabs. And it's a much nicer way to go.
But...you are only going to gain about 30-40 mins by doing this. That's not a ton of time. But, if it's worth it to you, then go for it. Are you flying home on a participating airline? If so, you should be able to check your luggage right at the resort, which will save some room in the car.
