Does anyone have any information on rental cabins around the Pigeon Forge, TN area? I have been looking them up online and they seem really expensive, but nice. Does anyone know if there are any discount codes or coupons, because on the website when you put your info in it asks for a code and I couldn't find any?

I am so excited DH and I honeymooned there 16 years ago and we got the Dollywood tickets from Coke Rewards, so we thought we could do a budget anniversary trip next month, and I really want to stay at one of the cabins, but it is a BUDGET BUSTER.:headache:

My hubby & I honeymooned there 6 years ago Sept. 20th!
We rented from WildFlower Mt. cabins and got a week for about $700.00.
I would(if you can) call or email some places & ask about discounts. I'd also ask about getting freebies! I'm sure they are hurting for business!

I hope you have a wonderful trip!
I'm SO jealous!!

I just wanted to also tell you these cabins were UP ON A MT. & IN THE WOODS!

So Private!

I had a similar thread on the budget board, because we're planning on going up the week before Christmas. One poster told me about http://www.sunsetcottage.com/. She said they had stayed there before and been pleased. They seem to have the best prices of what I've looked at (we're looking for a 2BR).

You can also check ebay. I've rented houses/condos on there several times with great prices. Just make sure they're paypal protected. :goodvibes

We've stayed at Elk Springs Resort in Gatlinburg twice. The 1st time was in a 3-bdrm in July 2008 that cost us almost $2,000 (luckily we split it with another family). The 2nd time was this past Easter and we got another 3-bdrm cabin for $800. Look on their "specials" page for deals.

We stayed at the Preserve Resort this summer. It is a beautiful resort, cabins and views are unbelievable. You should check it out!

Try vrbo.com. I just rented a cabin for October from one of the owners on there. Unfortunately, October is the "peak" season for Gatlinburg because of the leaves changing. Good luck!

Last year we stayed at the Resort at Governers Crossing in Seiverville. It was a 2 bedroom condo with full kitchen and living room. It was really clean and very reasonably priced.

I second Patriot they always have a 50% off section on the website. Keep checking back on the "specials" page of the site because it seems as it gets closer to your travel dates they drop the remaining cabins to 50% off. We didn't make our reservation until the week of our 4th of July trip and got a great deal. Our cabin was in great condition and you don't have to check in at an office you just call and get a key code. Their website also has lots of pictures of the cabin so you know exactly what it's like. Friends of ours stayed a few weeks later and had a great experience with a different cabin but same company. Sign up for their email list and they will send special discount notices.

Not a cabin, but a have to recommend the Inn at Christmas Place. We took our kids this spring and we all loved it, but they also have king suites. It is traditional Christmas themed, has an indoor pool & jacuzzi, very romantic, and full breakfast is included. The inside and the grounds are gorgeous. It is within walking distance from some good restaurants & Walgreens, a few minutes from the tram, and about 5 minutes from Dollywood.

Thank you everyone for all your quick responses, I have been looking at cabins for the last two nights and I am so overwhelmed. :lmao:

My tickets for Dollywood just came in the mail today so I am even more excited.

Has anyone ever eaten at Dixie Stampede? Was it worth the money?

Our trip to Pigeon Forge was probably one of our shortest, but best times ever. We rented a cabin from Timber Tops (posted link earlier) and it was wonderful. Enjoyed the cabin very much. Did not enjoy the drive up and down the mountain. :scared1::scared1::scared1: Especially after dark.

That said...we did do Dixie Stampede and thought it was fun. The kind of dinner show that you have to do at least once. The food was good, the show was fun. From what I remember the pre-show was in the lobby area and extremely crowded and pricey for sodas.

Just an FYI- My BIL was in Myrtle Beach and went to a similiar type show, I think it was a Renessaince Medevile (sp) themed show, where he had a severe allergic reaction to the horses and the dust/dirt etc that they kicked up during the show. It warrented a trip to the ER and the MD there was very familiar treating patients after seeing the show. Not saying this happens alot, and I really didn't find any ventillation problems in The Dixie show. Just something I thought I would mention if anyone has a asthma problem.

We've eaten at Dixie Stampede several times as well as at Medieval Times. There is also that same type of dinner theater in Orlando with a Pirate theme and we are looking forward to trying that one out soon! Nobody I have ever been with has had any problems with allergies or anything. It is a good show and an interesting experience.

As for condos, we've rented from Eagles Ridge in Pigeon Forge before and had a good experience each time (it's been a while though). We just found a good deal on a condo at Governor's Crossing which looks great. We weren't able to take advantage of it but it looks really nice.

And if you're on a budget and don't want to spend too much on a cabin check out the log cabin at: http://www.foothillsrvparkandcabins.com/cabins.html. It is a campground but they have several different versions of cabins. The log cabin is the biggest that they offer (and it's nothing like a cabin of your own but...). It has its own parking pad, grill, picnic table, covered front porch and then inside it is sort of like a motel room in the sense that it has the two standard beds like you would normally see. It also has a little kitchen (I forget what all the kitchen had) and then a bathroom. They were really quite nice. It wasn't like having a cabin where you would have a living room and all of that but we sat out on the porch and it was a good price.

We are actually heading up in October and staying at Wilderness Resort. We're really looking forward to it as I hear good things. It's further over into Severville but everything we're doing this time is over there so... Actually, as part of a package we bought we have tickets to see Cirque de Chine that we likely won't use as we'd prefer to do Wonderworks. If you're interested in those, email or PM me. Hope you guys have a nice trip and find a great place to stay!
