The cabins are rated as a Moderate Resort option and but are more expensive than other Moderates on property.
However, price alone is not the only comparable point - that's a bit of an "apples vs. oranges" comparison".
The cabins have room for six people where most Mods are limited to four (there is a limited five option).
You can drive up and park at your cabin front door.
They have a good bit of space and as a parent, the ability to shut the bedroom door on the kids at night and have me and DW time is priceless.
As Michael said, you can cook/eat some meals at your cabin which saves money that normally would be spent on QS or TS food. Some people object to this point saying, "why should I cook? I'm on vacation". But a bowl of cereal or some burgers cooked on the grill is better at your cabin. People (for example those using
MDE) use grocery delivery services to have their shopping list delivered and in their cabin fridge before they arrive.
Finally, the cabins and more specifically the Fort can be enjoyed as a resort unto itself. If you're a theme park warrior type who only uses your room/resort to sleep in, the magic of the cabins and the Fort will be lost on you. Those kind of people would be better off booking two Value rooms.
So no, seashell724, they don't fit everybody, but they fit a lot of folks.
