DH and I are attending a charity event on the first night of our Disney trip. After much debate :) we decided that cabbing from POP to the event would be our best option.

Is it cheaper if I arrange a cab/car in advance as opposed to just grabbing a cab outside the hotel? Do cabs even sit and wait outside the hotels? I'm from Chicago and I know that if I hop in a cab for a longer ride here, they charge 2x the meter amount. If you call ahead, it's the normal fare - not sure if that's standard other places!

Any recommendations on cab companies to call?

Any idea how much it'll cost? We're going 20 miles (191 E. Pine in DT Orlando.)

Thanks!

Check with bell services when you check-in, they will know what is best.
There usually are cabs at most resorts, if not they will get you one pretty quick.

You might be better off renting a car at the airport and dropping it off the following morning at one of the hotels.
National/Alamo are located at the Swan/Dolphin, I'm sure it will be cheaper than R/T cab fare.

Thanks! So if I just take a cab thats waiting at the hotel (or they call one) I won't be charged a higher fare?

We went back and forth on renting a car, but we plan to have a few drinks so I think a cab will be easier :)

I can't help with the rates except that it seems as tho it would be illegal to charge more if not booked ahead of time. Every time I have been to POP (3 different vacations) I have seen numerous cabs sitting out in the parking lot.
