We are going to be in Disney World for 12 days.. So while I am trying my best to bring all the needed toiletries etc that we may need I am also aware that may not happen.. So I was wondering if anyone had an idea what a cab fare for three people from Pop to Walmart and Back again might run.

The closest Supermarket to Pop I believe would be Publix, it's approx 4 miles from the farthest point in Pop. That should be about a $10-12 cab each way + tip.
It is a very nice and large store with good prices, I'm sure they will have everything you might need and then some. We use it exclusively.

Are you just getting toiletries? If you are only getting non-perishable items, it might be cheaper to buy them at home, put them in a box, and ship the box to the hotel ahead of time. In January I shipped a 17lb box to CR for about $10. I also had to pay $5 processing fee because CR is a convention hotel, but I don't think you'd be charged at Pop.

Or use one of the grocery delivery services. Yes, they do charge you a fee but you can get pretty much just about anything you want.....food, toiletries...delivered right to the resort.

That was going to be my suggestion as well. It will all be there waiting for your arrival at Bell Services. garden grocer and wegoshop are a couple of services.

Thank You for all your answers. .. I did check into all those.. but I have no way of knowing what might or might not run out.. Its not a matter of not wanting to take things with me..Though shipping down is not an option as it would cost more to ship down and back than it would to just take and extra suitcase. As for garden grocer they do not carry the items we would need in the brands we need.

The problem with shipping ahead or having them waiting is I only want to purchase these items if I run out. I don't want to spend tons of extra money on them if I don't need to buy them. So its going to be a something I need to know in case plan. 12 days is a long time to be away from home so if we need kids pain meds or femenine products or more OTC meds I want to be able to get them but if I don't need them I don't want to spend 50-60 buying extras ahead of time.

Thank You.. I have never used a publix as we don't have them here.. So its nice to know what to expect if we need to go there. Some of the things we may need we legally can't buy extra amounts of .. not sure what the law is in other places. but my OTC sinus meds require a signature and a license verifcation and I can only buy one box in a certain amount of time. So if I run out a run to the store will be a definate must and not something I can do ahead of time.

If you are just filling in the gaps many of the resort stores will have what you need as well. You may pay a dollar or two premium for the convenience but would be less than a taxi ride - provided it is what you need and when you need it. Just a thought. I know AKL had everything up to and including bottles of liquor if we were so inclined.

There is also a drug store right in Lake Buena Vista that delivers regularly to guests at Disney resorts, it is Turner Drugs, and I have used them on my last two visits with absolutely no problems. I was only ordering my bottled water, but they are a full drug store that will deliver prescriptions as well as all the OTC meds and health and beauty type things as well. There is a delivery fee, but it would surely be less expensive than a round trip taxi ride. You should at least check it out on-line and see what they have to offer, I believe it is "turnerdrug.com", and it may be just what you need :goodvibes

I hope this helps :thumbsup2 and also hope you have a wonderful vacation :wizard:

You can also have another adult get some for you. My dd takes the ClaritinD..regulared due to drug laws...but I was lucky in that our doctor wrote out a prescription for it, so we can get a month's supply at one time. Before we did that, I would have to get a box, and my dh would go to another store and get a box..that way we had an entire month's worth.
