Cab fare Univeral to AKL?

Anybody ever taken a cab from Universal studios to any of the disney resorts?

We are planning a one-night stay at HRH at USF/IA prior to our six-night stay at the AKL. We plan to take a towncar to HRH from airport and a towncar from AKL to airport. However, we need to get from HRH to AKL!!

I don't want to be tied down to a specific time for meeting a towncar as we will be touring the studios the day we make our change to AKL (we've never been before and don't know if we'll be ready to leave).

Anybody ever taken a cab from the studios to any disney location? Approximately what was the fare?

We used the town car company we used from the airport to go from WDW resort to Universal. We paid about $50.00 for our family of four. As for coming home, we were given the driver's cell phone number to call 45 minutes before we were ready to go back to WDW. He was there in 35-40 minutes and waiting at the curb for us. No problem at all. We thought it was very convenient. We always ask for the same driver.

We were thinking about doing the same thing - getting a towncar for a day at US. My only concern was deciding ahead of time what time to be picked up. Figured we would spend the entire day there - eat at CityWalk and had NO clue when we would be finished.

So if we could just "call" - that would be awsome. That's about the only thing left on my agenda - is figure out how to get back and forth that day.

I've asked about cab fares - but no bites yet.

My son & I took a cab from our resort FQ to US and back. It cost $35.00 each way and $5.00 tip. That was 3 years ago. I'm not sure if cab fare has gone down or up in that time. I'm thinking of renting a car for our next trip in May. Also, I have read that you can just rent a car from the Care Car Center next to the TTA for just a day or two inexpensively as well. I think I saw $26 on one post for a day. You can reserve through the company websites. I was thinking of renting for the last couple of days and dropping off at the airport the day we leave. It's an option.
