I'm heading to DL the week after Cars Land opens. That park will be ---insane---but we have 3.5 days at the resort and hope to get in at least a few rides at DCA early in the day. I have a few questions on the rides there:

Tower of Terror- I know the ride sequence is different than the one at Disney World. Can someone walk me through the DCA version? It's the same each time right? I've been chicken to try the one at the world, but if this one is the same each time and I know what to expect, I just may suck it up!

California Screamin' - I used to like rollercoasters a lot. I didn't care how fast they went or upside down or anything - then I turned 45. I can't do double loops (I panic on the second loop) and don't like the back of the train. How are the coasters loaded? Are rows assigned or can I pick where I want to sit? Is there a separate waiting area for the front seat? Is the seat-picking situation the same for both standby and fast pass?

Aladdin - How early should we line up for it? Is any particular show easier to see than another?

Monsters Inc - Is this ride old-folk friendly? My parents are coming with us and I swore I wouldn't put then on any thrill rides. They will ride rapids raft rides though so they don't necessarily need "it's a small world" slow.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

ToT - I haven't ridden it enough to know the sequence, but I'm sure someone here has.

Screamin' - one loop, my DD7 rode it for the first time this week and LOVED it. It's a very smooth coaster. They assign your row as you walk up. I haven't noticed a difference between the front and the back on this one, but I'm guessing they would accommodate you if you were willing to wait. Seat assignment is the same for standby and FP.

Aladdin - I'll let someone else answer; we normally sit in the handicapped seating.

Monsters, Inc - is extremely old-folk friendly. Riders can even stay in their wheelchair for it.

Screamin, I have had good luck speaking with the CM and asking them for specific seat assignments. They are usually amenable, especially if you bring it up as soon as you get near the front of the queue, and they will allow a few people to wait for the front seats (most popular, IMHO not the best seats, I think the rear seats give a more interesting ride).

ToT- At DCA, ToT's ride program is not random like the one at DHS. It has the same program no matter which elevator you get into. It consists of some spooky show stuff and a total of 6 drops ranging in size (seems like more), and twice you get to the top and look out over DLR.

Screamin- You can ask the CM at the front of the line if you want to sit in a specific row, including the front, but otherwise they will assign you a seat. Usually the wait for the front is an extra couple trains, but not too bad. This all happens after FP and stand-by merge.

Aladdin- If you want a seat in the orchestra section (and assuming it'll be packed!), you'll want to show up at least 45-60 min before the show starts. Sometimes, though, mezannine or balcony seats towards the front of each section can be better. For these sections for shows in the middle of the day you're looking at 30-45+ min before the show starts. The first and last shows are generally the least popular.

Monsters- Monster's Inc. is on par with Snow White and Pinocchio in terms of ride intensity. It's a slow-moving dark ride through the story of the movie. Definitely for the whole family.

:thumbsup2
