Is it better to have an upper floor or lower floor balcony view on the boardwalk during the Halloween events.

Is there a noise problem w/these rooms?

How late do things stay open?

Also did anyone attend this past halloween? How was it?

We were there this year on the 5th floor in the Crest of the Wave building, and our view was PERFECT!!! I highly recommend it! It was a long hike to our room, but we quickly got used to it. We ended up preferring it as there were never alot of people in the hallways making noise :) EPCOT was straight out our window, and we could see all of the higher fireworks off of our balcony. Noise was not a factor for us at all, but I would imagine you could hear a bit more on the lower floors. I don't imagine it would be a problem with the doors closed though!

Halloween was great at WDW! There was a nice party on the BW on Halloween night! We attened only for a short time; because, our daughter got one of her HUGE bloody noses. I thought it best to call it a night after that. Thankfully we had done all of the trick-or-treating by then and finished the crafts :) There was a DJ there and quite a few folks :) The kids were all having a blast!

MNSSHP was wonderful too!!! We are going back next year since we had so much fun this year! It might be a new annual/semi-annual tradition :)

What things are you asking about as far as how late they are open? The parks all close early by 5-7PM except for EPCOT which is open until 9PM. The shops on the BW I believe are open until 11PM.

Since you'll be lucky just to get a BW view, I doubt it matters too much.

Dean has a good point, there is no guarantee of a BW view room, I wouldn't try to request a certain floor. They are only 20% of the total rooms at BWV. I made my first BW reservation exactly at 11 months and figured I would get my BW view request, I also requested top floor. Nope, ended up over the quiet pool, top floor, no BW view rooms available. I wondered if that top floor request messed me up when they preassigned the rooms.

I still do want to put in a request to better my chances even with the stats.

I am curious about the noise though. If there is a DJ - how loud was it! I can picture us hanging out on the balcony enjoying the sights and wasn't sure if a top floor was too far away.

KathyR - can you tell me what night you attended MNSSHP. and how it was. Also, on the boardwalk - how was the trick or treating set up and will the activities be enough for a group of 9-14 yr olds if we do not have anything else planned for the evening.

Your best chance is to list as few options as possible other than your Boardwalk view request. They will look at the first request as most important. I can't speak from experience but the question has come up before regarding noice and BW view and the concensus seems to be that with the door closed, it's not a problem for most people. If the search function is working, you may be able to find other threads that address that issue.

We've had a Boardwalk view twice. I brought foam earplugs along but noise was never an issue. I think that we were on the 3rd floor.....

I have had BW views many times and the only time noise was a problem was when we were on a lower floor over the Big River Grille. There was a loud group of people having cocktails outside until very late - I'm thinking it was 1am. There was one woman with a shrieking laugh and it was really annoying! That was the only time we were bothered by noise at all. On the nights when there is a DJ and lots of activity, things quiet down by 11pm.

There is nothing like a BW view at 5:30 am when WDW is just starting to wake up!

We attended MNSSHP on the 27th this year. It was a great night to go :) We walked onto pretty much every ride except maybe 2, and for those, we only waited at most 5 minutes! We did not do too much trick-or-treating though. Those lines were a bit longer but moved fast! We were just enjoying the atmosphere! There were also fortune tellers, and my kids really enjoyed them! We can't wait to go back this year! The kids and I both dressed up, and it was a blast!!!

The BW had trick-or-treat stations set up in front of several establishments along the BW. I believe there were 6 or 7. There was also cookie decorating, make your own monster hand, make a lolipop ghost, decorate a "pumpking" gourd and guess how much candy in a jar with the winner taking all! As I said before, unfortunately we were unable to stay long (1 hour tops), so I am unable to tell you much about what else was going on once the party really got going! From what I saw while I was there it was more geared toward the little kids, but that may not have been the case a little later on! Post a question on the BW halloween party, and I am sure you will get more responses from people who were able to attend longer than we did and probably with older kids too (ours are 7 and 5).

Have a great trip!!! We will be back for the 5th through the 25th next year, and we can't wait!!! :)

BTW-to get our room we only requested non-smoking and BW view!
