Just called MS for BWV 1 BR for 10/18-10/25. All nights were available except for the last night 10/24. Didnt really feel like having to move the last night of our trip so I got a ressie at VWL for the enitre trip and got put on the Wait List for the BWV.

In your opinion, what are my chances of having the wait list come through? Should I keep calling back? Or just wait and see if the wait list comes through?

Also, is anyone else noticing that October, though it is supposed to be one of the slowest times, seems to be getting very busy? I had trouble getting any full week at BCV or BWV.

I'd have kept the BWV ressie, booked the last night at VWL and waitlisted for it at BWV. IMHO, you have a much better shot at getting the one night at BWV to open up than your whole reservation. We've had good success with the "night-by-night" waitlist at BWV and have read that others here have as well.

We're also going that time of year - Oct 26-Nov 2. It's a great time to go! What you have to remember is that "slow" time for WDW is not necessarily "slow" time for DVC. Those are the periods that it costs fewer points to stay, weather is cooler and crowds are smaller. Two of the busiest times for DVC are fall and the first two weeks of December - both of which are slower seasons for WDW as a whole.

I agree. If you want BWV, you are much more likely to get the one night waitlisted than the whole ressie later. Best of luck to you!

I would have to agree that you have a much better shot of getting a single night than a whole week. We have been on the waitlist for a preferred 2BR BWV for eight months, and nothing. I wanted the whole 5 nights or not at all, so apparently I'm getting 'not at all.' Oh well, less points, and since we have the AP, I have booked the next three trips, and will have to borrow most of our 2005 points, so maybe I should just take myself off the waitlist. We are going through points like a knife through butter.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have a question about your strategy. If I book the first 6 nights at BWV and wait list for the last night, what are the chances that I would still have to end up moving to a different room on the last night. Or if something free's up, will we be able to stay in our original room?

Not sure I'm clear what you're asking, so I'll answer it both ways. If you're asking if you GET the BWV waitlist, will you still have to move rooms at the same resort? - the answer is no. They will link your reservation in the computer so it all comes up as one stay. If you're asking what if you DON'T get BWV - if that's the case you'll have to move to VWL the last night. They don't cancel your VWL night until you get the BWV night.

WDWguru,
Thanks for the answer. Your first answer is the one I was looking for. I'm on hold with MS as we type to see if I can change it back to BWV.

We also accepted the waitlist for BWV for a studio for the same dates. Right now we have a studio at OKW which is not such a bad thing.

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this one. The MS Rep (sorry, I dont remember his name) I ended up talking to asked me if I had been on the "unofficial" Disney site this afternoon trying to get information about this issue. When I told him Yes, he said "was it Pete Werners site?". Again I said Yes. He then admitted that he had seen this exact post and said that he thought your advice was correct. I tried to find out who he was, but he just said he doesn't post, just reads.

At lease we know that MS is in fact aware of what we are saying.

MS, if you are reading this again, thanks for your help tonight. It is appreciated.

Good to hear you got it switched back! I have little doubt you will get that last night. :D

:) Best of luck w/the night you have waitlisted!!! I will be surprised if you do not get it too!

as for the reason it's booked already, doesn't the food and wine festival start in late october?

It does. According to Steve Soares, this year's dates are October 19 - November 17.
