BWV View categories: more questions

Remember, OKW, VWL, and BCV have some special room types as well. As a previous poster said, these are the dedicated 2BR units. Owners have the first chance to book these, and at the 7 month window, it is quite difficult to get a dedicated 2BR (especially at BCV, where there are 2 queens or queen/sleeper). The BoardWalk has no dedicated 2BR's, so we're stuck with a 1BR & studio. No chance at all for 2 real beds in the 2nd bedroom.

Maybe someday I'll be able to trade someone a BCV 2BR-D-2Q for a BWV 2BR-P-BW. ;)

I believe dedicated two bedrooms and 2 queens in the second bedroom are both confirmed request at BCV

Yes, they are. I am waitlisted for them for Oct. I have 3 of the 4 days I need so far in a 2 bedroom, but the only problem is 2 nights have the queen/sleeper and one of the nights have the 2 queen set up. They are both listed on my confirmations as, "TWO BEDROOM DEDICATED." The one w/the 2 queens says, "TWO BEDROOM DEDICATED/2Q."Needless to say I am still waitlisted for the 3 nights I have in addition to the 1 night I still need but in the opposite configuration that I have booked in hopes that I can get all 4 of my nights in the same set up. I am not picky w/which set up I get. I just don't want to move everyday. Perhaps at check in they can fix it??? Wishful thinking I know :) Whatever happens happens. I am ok w/that!

I do think it is a waitlist nightmare for the 2 bedroom BCV, but it is I who took that chance. It would have been easier owning there and getting it all at once, but IMO that is a perk for owning at the BCV and probably VWL and OKW too as they also have the dedicated and 1 bed/studio set up.

People wanting a BWview will also be taking that chance when a waitlist is needed which is fine as long as they are ok w/it :)

I see this as no different than the dedicated 2 bedroom privaledges at the other resorts. Sure I would love 2 queens for all of my days, but no big deal if I don't get them. Sure, I would love a BWview, but no big deal if I don't get it. I am happy being a BWV owner that I now can have that request guaranteed. As I am sure a BCV, VWL and OKW owner is glad they can get their dedicated 2 bedrooms reserved w/priority to the rest of us. just my opinion :)

FYI-
I just called MS to ask about the 2 bedroom room categories at BCV to see what types they waitlisted me for. There are actually 3 guaranteed categories.
2 bedroom dedicted w/2 queens
2 bedroom dedicated queen/sleeper
2 bedroom lock-off

I was for some reason only waitlisted for the dedicated 2 bedrooms which I did not request, so I had her put me on for the lock-off too. So my waitlisting could get even crazier!!! I could have 3 different room categories in the end!

Gotta love that home resort privaledge :) Just knowing you have a 2 bedroom under the same category is really nice. IMO nicer than any guaranteed view as you at least won't be moving around everyday!

So waitlisting PV-BWview should be no more trouble for MS than waitlisting all these different 2 bedroom categories at the BCV, VWL and OKW.

So then I'm probbaly correct in thinking that since we do not own at BWV, our chnaces of getting a stnadrd and now a boradwalk view are almost nonextitent.

Now that i think about it, this doesn't seem quite right. In this case, they shoudl make specila views avialble at all the DVc resorts, liek IllumiNations view at BCV, etc. so that those who own there can be guaranteed they'll get it before the 7 month window opens up to others.

See what I mean? Thsi woudl seem to amke things even more complicated for them, but hey- if they want to take it on I guess it will make numerous BWV owners quite happy.
Owners at a resort should ALWAYS have preference over non owners regardless of when they book. Remember that BWV previously had another type of room that was booked directly and had that taken away, it's called a studio plus unit. I don't understand the line of thinking that basically says they got a little extra, we need a little extra also.

Kathy,

You've provided a great example of what happens with sub-optimization. Now imagine if, in addition to the three types of rooms already available at BCV (plus handicapped) we add a proposed four more: Smoking/Non Smoking, Epcot View/Non Epcot View. Now we have:

Studio NS Epcot View
Studio NS Non-Epcot View
Studio Smoking Epcot View
Studio Smoking Non Epcot View
1 BR NS Epcot View
1 BR NS Non-Epcot View
1 BR Smoking Epcot View
1 BR Smoking Non Epcot View
Dedicated 2 bedroom NS Epcot View 2 Queens
Dedicated 2 bedroom NS Non-Epcot View 2 Queens
Dedicated 2 bedroom Smoking Epcot View 2 Queens
etc.

This is great if the resort is wide open when you call - say eleven months out. But when the resort is 90% booked, everyone who books is likely to need to room hop because the resort lacks flexibility to move people to squeeze you in.
