We were just able to book a standard view studio for the 2,3, & 4 of July 2009! We were thrilled that there was availability. For all you BWV experts, can you tell me what I should request? Do they all have balconies? Anyone have recent pictures of the studios? Are the standard view studios smaller than the Boardwalk view ones? Thank you so much for any help!:goodvibes

Same size. All have balconies or patios (on the ground floor).

Generally people are of two opinions on requests. High floor far from the elevator offers the best chance at a good fireworks view. Low floor close to the elevator offers the best access to the pool, the buses. If you don't mind the stairs, high floor isn't bad at all. If you do mind the stairs, and don't like the long hallways, the glimpse of Illuminations over the top of the building may not be worth the walk.

I've only gotten one request in all my years of BWV ownership - on this last trip I had two rooms I requested be close to one another - and they were right next door. I also had on the reservation that it was my sister's cancer recovery trip - and I suspect that some additional effort was taken in room assignment. Otherwise, if I want easy access to Luna Park, we have a great view of Illuminations. If I want a high floor to see fireworks, we discover how nice it is to be able to walk right out to the buses......

luckier than Crisi - they generally give me what I want - near the steam - far end of the building. there is a back door to the buses and cars.

that say don't mind going up and down steps. if you do then request near the elevators. but then be prepared to walk.

Thank you both for your help!:thumbsup2 What are the standard views of? Parking lot dumpsters? Pool? I think a high floor is our cup of tea!:goodvibes

I think the easiest way to describe the SV room views is with this picture of the resort. The Standard View rooms are in green.

Standard views also include overlooking the valet parking and the luggage storage for Magical Express. Can be noisy in that area.

For standard view, I always request top floor, across from the bus stop. That gets you away from the noise of the entrance and far enough down the hall and high enough to see the Epcot fireworks.

We stayed in the 1st bend (3085).

It was a dedicated studio with the little daybed. I liked this studio as it was still very near the elevators, but we had a little bit of the grassy area from our balcony as well. (It was an ok, but not great view.)

Since I have bad problems with my feet at the end of the day, this was a good trade off. I think that the view gets continually better, the further down the hallway you go.

Do not ask for a specific room number, as Disney will not know how to accomodate you if that room is already filled.

Thank you so much for all of your responses! This is our first DVC trip and were thrilled to have the opportunity to stay at the BWV'S. You have all made GREAT suggestions! :goodvibes
