BWV standard views...

As far as I know, they all face the driveway, entrance. However, the views are great the farther down the hall you have to walk. There's a retention basin, or a little lake that could be the main part of your view. If you are close to the lobby, you could be bothered by luggage noise. I've booked standard view 20 times or so, & I've had all of the possibilities I think! I've NEVER been sorry that I saved the points. I am not as impressed with the Boardwalk view as others here, it's nice, but I rather save points.

you have a few that face the steam (under the bridge steam) and also the hc parking. near the tennis court.

with these views you need to use the steps (staircases) instead of the elevator. the elevator is not close at all - but going up and down steps is hard on some people. if it is on you then suggest near elevators - although those views are pretty boring - my opinion.

they are the main entrance and can get noisey.

Just one of the three hallways required to get there. ;)

one of the reason to use the staircases at BWV - you would have saved your self alot of time.

Can you show me your standard views at BWV? Are they all of the main entrance?

This map is an easy way to see the various view categories at BWV

We have found that since the trees have grown so much, at least 50% of the standard view rooms look out at a tree. Here's a view looking at the standard view rooms from the roadway and you can see all the trees.

Before they refurbed the halls at BWV I took about 10 steps down and immediately wondered if the twin girls were going to be at the end of the hall! Or maybe little Danny would round the corner on his Hot Wheels. It's a little less now with the brighter colors but I still keep my eyes open for it.

Oh, we did. But if you want to refill a coffee mug or go to the shop then it's a walk past room after room. When my mother traveled with us it was no choice so I absolutely requested near the elevators then. This time I had requested to be away from the elevators. MS laughed and said they didn't get that too often!

I don't understand Disney's thinking when it comes to trees. We have also had views blocked by trees at OKW and SSR. I love foliage but why not plant tree varieties that can be pruned to avoid blocking views from the balconies?

Maybe in the case of BWV SV they thought a tree would be preferable to the view of the driveway? Or maybe a noise reducer?

Of course, for many of us, we like to see the Illuminations fireworks that rise above BWI. Our last time, we had a good angle to see the fireworks but a tree was right in front of our balcony. Not sure why they'd want to put a tree right in front of any balcony. :confused3

I so completely agree about the trees being way overgrown at some of the resorts :scared1: I had a lake view room at Pop on the top floor but the view was completely blocked by the trees :furious: I have had this happen at Old Key West too and it is such a shame :(

I hear you.

The last time we were at OKW, our view was heavily blocked by live oaks - to the point that the balcony and the rooms were depressingly dark - and this was on a upper floor. I usually ask for an upper floor to avoid those rooms which usually have ground foliage blocking the light. I'm very much a bright sunlight person. For the first time in years, we went back down to Guest Services and asked for a different room assignment and luckily, they had one that was clear and unobstructed.

I had that in building 28 one time, hated it. After that, I always requested water view.

If you see a kid on a trike yelling Redrum, Redrum, Redrum,as he comes towards you, that's your cue to bail! :lmao:

We've always had view of the expansive lawn! Once, bottom floor which I though I would detest, but surprisingly we enjoyed the baby birds just nesting outside, a miriad of squirrels and bunnies, we loved it! The bus noise wasn't bad at all!

We were at the end or begining if you will by the fountain to the right side of the drive in! There's a door right there, convenient!

You guys are so funny!!! It's been so long since we've stayed at BWV the hallways looked like wood planks! 1999!! So no redrum feeling to me then!

The standard view looks fine to me..a good use of points!

Thanks for the great info! Now I just need to snag it at 7 months! :wizard:

About trees blocking the view...we had a HUGE tree blocking our DTD view at SSR. The tree was gigantic and was so full it touched our balcony. Maybe requeting a ground floor at BWV would avoid that.

We had a BWV standard view last year that was totally blocked by a tree off the living room balcony. Also, we were very close to the elevators and it was extremely noisy because we were above the baggage check in. I would request down the hallway away from the elevators if I were you. I know we will be next time! ::yes::
HTH!

haven't posted a pic in a long time... here goes nuthin! Here is our BWV Std view 1BR room from last week - 4th floor)
