BWV standard view studio at 7 months??

Has anyone had any luck booking a standard view studio at BWV in late September??? We may try to book a Thursday and Friday night next September after our cruise (September 24 & 25). What do you think my chances of success are?

Friday night would be more likely than Thursday night.

I got it this year for October after being waitlisted for a few months. An entire week! yeah! Less than two weeks now!

It's possible, but the odds are not in your favor.

We almost always see a few posts celebrating that they got a standard view at 7 months or that the wait list worked for them. However, those are exceptions - far more members try and are disappointed than successful. No way to tell if any one particular member will have success.

The Food & Wine Festival begins in late September, so that further decreases your chances. I know I sound very negative, but I believe you should not plan on a standard view. If you want to stay at the BWV, you'll need to call right at 7 months and plan to pay the Preferred view rate.

Hope you are one of the lucky exceptions.

Carol, I do appreciate your honesty. Our plans have actually changed a little. My sister asked me today if I could try to book BLT MK view so I will be trying for that in March . I think I may actually have a better shot at the BWV standard view!!!

wow just cam back last week from my trip at the bwv standard veiw that i booked at the 7 month window was i that lucky? I didnt have to wait list or anything

When I got mine this year I did book Sun-Thurs on the very first day I could at the 7 month window and I took preferred/garden view and waitlisted for both Standard and Boardwalk wiew. Four + months later I got Standard view on June 30. I called that day (June 30) and for some reason was able to pick up the weekend as well to give me an entire week. I started @ 11 months w/ a res @ OKW - and would have been happy to go there had the waitlist not come through. I also would have been happy w/ the Preferred view room as well.

I'm just saying that it's possible. Over the years I have had quite good luck w/waitlisting.

Right now, I'm just celebrating that I'll be there in less than two weeks!

I do, too. If you don't get it the first time you try, absolutely go on the wait list. If BLT sales go as well as projected, DVC will declaring more inventory into the condominimum. That will be a good thing for those on the wait list. Wait lists are often successful for reservations made when sales first start.

September is one of the times when we do see some success at 7 months (for the Standard view). Best chance comes when the member calls right at 7 months and uses the waitlist. That said, if we had the data that told us how many people called to reserve a SV for your dates, I'm sure we would see many who were told no. I think you were both lucky and am happy you enjoyed your trips.

I am definately planning to get on the waitlist for BLT if I don't get it on March 15. I figured my chances may be pretty good if I do. And I will be sure to take pictures and post a review if we do get to stay there!
