BWV Sept 09 at 7 month mark

How hard would it be to get 2 two bedrooms standard view at the 7 month mark at BWV? We are planning on going the last full week in Sept 09. I think I remember reading that the standard view is hard to get but cannot find it when you actually want to read it. TIA!

well...let me put it this way...just today I tried for the beach club villas at the 7 month mark...I didnt need one room I needed 2...The last 3 years, 3 attempts at getting just ONE room have been unsuccessful...Today i called looking for a miracle and hot damn they actually had a one bedroom AND a studio that i could book....

I was floored!! Its not as busy as food and wine time but its still busy for flower and garden and I had been unsuccessful for the last 3 years getting
a beach club studio only during this spring time.....

As far as september is concerned, i dont know, but maybe this story will give you some luck and hope.

I have a feeling next year is not going to be so crowded at disney...also alot of the DVC'ers for next year have a whole new resort to try out...So by VAKL opening up in the spring fully it free's up alot of space elsewhere at resorts that in the past have been hard to get...

Wait till the contemporary opens up....Boardwalk and beach club will be much much easier to get becuase everyone will be attracted to either the VAKL or the contemporary...I have no desire to stay at the contemporary so they all can have it and free up the resorts I like...woohoo

I'm thinking it would be problematic. It's not like you need any room, you need a Standard room and they are only 20% of the rooms. Preferred would be a LOT easier. September is traditionally pretty slow, but it depends on your overlap with Food & Wine next year. If you arrive and leave before that begins, you might have a decent chance. I would have a backup and still give it a try.

Agree with mikesmom. It's possible (so do try), but the odds are not great.

A lot would depend if that last full week of September is included in the F&W dates.

I would think a preferred/garden view might be available but I think the standard and BW views get snatched up by owners before the 7 month window. Of course, it doesn't hurt to try!

I think there is a very good chance that a Pool/Garden room would be available for the last week in September at the BWV.

I booked BWV this year for Oct 12-19 right at 7 months - no problem at all and that is the height of F & W - I even got my waitlist a couple months later for Standard view so I was able to save some $$ at it.

You were very lucky. I tried to get a standard studio BEFORE the 7 month window, but not exactly 11 months in advance and could not get it for early May. Out of 10 days only 3 days were available. Getting a standard view is hard, even when we call before the 7 month window opens. Of course the OP should ask about it, but have a backup plan.

We stayed in a two bedroom villa, standard view, the first week of September 2008 (it was actually August 31 - Sept 6). We were unsuccessful in getting the 2br for the full stay so the first night we stayed in a studio preferred view. This alternate plan worked for us because we only had 4 in our party. We booked within the 7 month window(4 months to be more precise) and had no issues. As with all bookings, it is generally hit or miss. Good Luck. I am sure you will get what you want.
